Have been here several times w friends and family. They do have gluten free menu which is nice. Food is good and unique Irish authentic. Good selection of beer. Nice garage door they open on nice summer evenings. Staff was decent. Atmosphere is like a pub with charm. Overall worth a shot

Right in the heart of downtown Bismarck, this spot serves up some pretty decent Irish pub grub fare. It was pretty quiet when we came in (it was a weekday, mid-afternoon), but the service was prompt and friendly. I ordered one of my favorite pub dishes...the classic fish-n-chips. Turns out, their version comes with waffle fries (not traditional English chips) but their Dublin sauce used for dunking the fries really hit the spot. The two large, breaded fish filets really filled me up and the platter also came with a generous portion of creamy coleslaw. My dining partners enjoyed their meal choices as well, very glad we gave this restaurant a go!

The Blarney Stone is our favorite pub and restaurant in old downtown Bismark. The atmosphere and service is outstanding, they've an excellent selection of beer, along with a well apportioned bar - and then there's their shepherds pie. It's all so very good - and thankfully, they're open late!

We stopped here on our way to Minnesota. We loved that they were open late and hoped that we could get some good food at 10PM. The reviews were promising and honestly, there was nothing else. After reading some reviews I got the fish and chips and my partner opted for some wings and chips. Everything was saltyyyyyyy. Fish was greasy. The wings were weird, missing the golden brown color you expect of wings. The bartender/server was pushy and sort of felt like she was rushing us out even tho it was 11 and they close at 1. It was annoying. I'd skip this place if you're driving by.

If I lived here in Bismarck this would definitely be my personal hangout especially in the bar area, the decor and atmosphere gave me a flashback to my visit to Dublin so I was very comfortable here, curry chicken fries was my focus, service was great and easy going, the locals seems at home here and with TV screens a plenty no one was bored. So many items to choose from I would consider it a challenge to try everything here (check for a local gym)

I drove 700 miles today to get to Bismarck, eating no breakfast and for lunch having a gas station banana and a string cheese stick. I was famished by the time I got into town. I arrived at the Radisson hotel and after checking in began searching for nearby restaurants. The Blarney Stone sounded appetizing, and was only a couple of blocks to walk from the hotel. After 11.5 hours in the car, walking sounded like a good idea. December in North Dakota isn't the most temperate climate, and the walk to the restaurant had me chilled. I was now cold and hungry. So, when I saw the Pub Mac n Cheese on the menu, that sounded like just the thing to warm me up and fill my belly. I ordered it with the breaded chicken with Asian sauce. My dinner arrived impressively fast. It was delicious. The Asian sauce was the perfect compliment for the cheesy pasta. I was so enamored with my food, that I didn't even notice the football game on the televisions. I normally abhor football, but felt so comfortable eating my comfort food that I felt right at home. The lighting was adequate. I wouldn't complain. The wood finish on the floor and bar was quite dark, so I imagine any amount of lighting would not seem very bright. Sound level was acceptable. It's a pub, so I kind of have to expect some level noise. Overall, it was a very good dining experience. The food was excellent, the service was prompt, and the atmosphere was comfortable for a chilly winter evening.

I was really anticipating this meal, especially since I'm Irish, but they just didn't capture the flavors. I like the vibe here and how open it is. If you have kids, be aware that this is a 21+ establishment only. Service was slower than expected, especially when there weren't many people dining in at the time. Corned Beef. Way too stringy, dry and salty. Plus it had a weird flavor. The creamed cabbage was not my thing either. It was too mushy and had a king of soggy texture with little seasoning. The mashed potatoes were flavorless as well. The roll was good, though.

Stopped in to this amazing Irish pub for dinner and drinks. Ordered the Shepherds pie and the fish and chips. The fish and chips were delicious but super greasy. The bread pudding was amazing. The restaurant/bar is clean and has beautiful decor. Our waitress was super friendly. They also have weekly specials! Overall. Great atmosphere, food, decor and drinks!

I love coming here. Their fish sandwich AND fries are so good! They also have a blarneys sauce which is ranchy type of sauce delicious! Their dessert & drinks are equally as great. Definitely a must try! read more

From out of town. In Bismarck for work. I've been here 5 times in 3 days. Tried 7 different menu items (5 entrees + 2 desserts). ACES!! Across the board. Every time. Food is fantastic. Service is warm, friendly, and on top of it. Overall, genuine and welcoming. I HAD to come back after the first night. Kind of sad I didn't get to try anything else in DT Bismarck, but not really. I'd be fine if this was the only option. What a great Irish Pub. Keep it up, lads and lasses! read more

We had a wonderful breakfast at The Blarney Stone. My husband had the Celtic Cure and I had the steak and eggs. Both were very good though I have to say the absolute highlight of both dishes was the breakfast potatoes. I could eat an entire bowl of them daily!! The "Dinner in Dublin" breakfast special comes with your choice of a Mimosa, a Bloody Mary or a Caesar. At one point or another during our visit, we tried them all & they were all very good. I've been here twice and both times were great. First time in I got the soup of the day and salad. Soup was soooo good. It was the Cheddar Irish Ale. I also got the Peachy Keen cocktail. The second time I got the Golden Skip & Go Naked cocktail and the Blarney Dip. Big servings. Cool Irish pub. Service was good both times. Prices aren't bad. I'd go again. read more

If you charge for options given to you by a waitress you should be told that there are additional fees! Would you prefer onion rings? Extra fee! Would you like ranch dipping sauce? Extra fee! We never were visited to check how the food was. Rueben lacked a major ingredient- the corned beef was a small fraction of the ingredients. I'll try another pub! read more

First time eating at Blarneys and we ordered the steak stroganoff. Most of the steak had lots of gristle and was not edible. There were very few mushrooms as well. The sauce was flavorful but overall we were disappointed. Service was good. read more

This was our second option while passing through cuz option number one was closed. Met and seated in the outside patio area. We got a couple of drinks - perfectly mixed! Loved the atmosphere here. It was so cool. I had the corned beef with creamed cabbage and my boyfriend had the fish and chips. Both meals were quite yummy. We ended up with the Irish creme cake dessert. Today on 4/24/25 at approx 9:00PM I had dinner there with my family and received ABSOLUTELY the worst service EVER. Never have I ever recieved such bad service from a waitress with long black hair. She was rude from the start making remarks and she didn't check on us ONCE. I had to get up TWICE to ask for refills and napkins and finally when it was time to pay I basically had to catch her attention by waving at her and she waves back saying Hi!!! TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. She mad rude remarks the entire time and when she had someone else bring the check he doesn't say anything and then he proceeded to stand by the door like we weren't gonna pay for our food, totally the worse I will never eat here again they are racist and I've heard this from other people. The waitress never greeted us let alone gave her name so I can't mention her name but she was working on the above date and she seriously needs to be reprimanded for her actions. DONT EAT HERE. read more

Recommended by my brother, so it had to be good, right? Well, it was. The Bangers and Mash were spot on. The gravy is full of flavor and the bangers are tender and savory. The service was great. Oh, and the beef veggie soup is good too. I had to have a cup of that. Street parking was easy to find around the corner. Bismarck is not a hard place to find parking in anyway. read more

We placed an order Togo and the person who took it was super friendly. We ordered the beef stroganoff, which was probably some of the best I've ever had, the Blarney dip, which was packed full of flavor and the emerald island dip, their twist on spinach and artichoke dip. The dip and past were love at first bite! We will definitely be going here to try so more of their food, but in person this time. read more

There's not a ton in Bismarck ND. I came in for a wedding and while the girls were all getting ready I peeled off the blarneys to try something local and unique to the area. This place doesn't disappoint. The bar food is what you expect. The eggs Benedict was super filling and salty like you want especially if you have a weekend full of libations. Appetizers are decent. The beers are good. Had a local sour and I really enjoyed it even though that's not particularly my thing. The staff is super friendly and attentive. I enjoyed my time here. read more

I've been to blarney Stone a few times in Bismarck and it's always a pretty fun experience. Ended up having a spicy grilled chicken sandwich... Actually one of the spicier foods I've had in my life and was arguably too spicy for me to eat which is a pretty tall order in general. Beer is always pretty good and the service is always friendly enough. Have also had the stew in the past which is also really good. Pretty neat atmosphere also and I can reasonably recommend this place. read more

Love the setting. The patio is so much fun wjen the weather is nice. Can be a little noisy, with the traffic on Main Street. Waitstaff is very freinfly and most helpful. Ally is so nice and accomodating, she really makes me feel at home as i am holding a table for 5 and they r running a little late, feel sorry as i am tieing up 5 seats she could be turning and making $$$$ on. A solid restaurant with good service and an excellent selection of beers and booze! Food has always been solid and come spring and summer they open the doors to give you some fresh air and good music! Located right downtown Bismarck! I got the pasta with shrimp and jalopeno and it's packed with flavor and definitely filling! I've had other good meals there! A large menu so finding something for even the picky eater should not be an issue! We've ate here several times when visiting Bismarck & have yet to have a bad experience. There are however, 2 booths in the back by the kitchen door that need better lighting. We and surrounding tables could barely read the menus, I even started using the flashlight on my phone. After a few minutes, I asked the waitress if we could move somewhere else with better lighting & she approved. read more

Awesome food and a great Sunday brunch. I love the root beer and the Smokey O'Leary is one of the best burgers in town. Fish and chips are great too. Great atmosphere and probably the best rosemary prime rib I've ever had. read more

First time to Bismarck. Pleasantly surprised by the quaint downtown! Stumbled upon this little Irish pub and loved the ambiance from the outside with the raised modern glass garage door. Step inside and the place is large with multiple rooms / dining atmospheres. Really enjoyed the Shepard's pie and they even had two sour beers on tap. Highly recommend. read more

Get their corned beef with creamed cabbage and mashed potatoes!!!! I just had their lunch portion and it was plenty of food and absolutely delicious! The service was also very good. I've been here a few times, typically once a summer and this place never disappoints. Update: went there again to day with a group of us. Still good food and atmosphere. Our waiter was funny and a great help! The curry dish on their updated menu was fantastic and a few of us wished we had ordered that, but my dish (again the corned beef with creamed cabbage) was still delicious! read more

Great bread pudding. LOTS of seating areas. Service with a smile. Best fish with roasted veggies and pilaf. There's only a couple downfalls to this place. It's super loud on game days. It's a seat yourself kind of place so sometimes you don't get an ideal table. It's also a party bar at night so pick your poison. I saw a Bloody Mary bar flyer in the table last time I was there so I'm putting that on my to do list! read more

History

Established in 2009.

The "Blarney Stone" is thought to originate from the "Stone of Scone" which belonged to Scotland. For the gratitude of Irish support in the Battle of Bannockburn, Scotland gave half the stone to Ireland, which was installed at Blarney Castle. The term "Blarney" originated when Queen Elizabeth I wanted landowners to agree to occupy their own land under title from her and pay taxes to England. Upon sending the Earl of Leicester to the Blarney fortress to negotiate the surrender of the castle, Lord Blarney always suggested some form of delay. Thus, long progress reports with excuses were always sent to the queen and the castle remained untaken. The queen became so irritated at the reports that she replied... "This is all blarney!" Thus the term Blarney has come to mean eloquent speech or 'the ability to influence, flatter and coax with fair words. In each one of us lies the "Gift of Blarney" and it only need be awakened. So enjoy a few pints and speak a little "Blarney" amongst friends.

The Tubby Taft gives a whole new meaning to the term "bathtub" gin. They don't have any food options but you can order/bring in food from either Nara Ramen or The Firepit both located above Oscar's. Service was almost instantaneous and really friendly and knowledgeable. Parking is also available in the same lot as Nara and the Firepit.

For a small restaurant, they also have an impressive wine selection. We started with the garlic bread, hot olives, and meatballs -- all of which were flavorful, balanced, and absolutely delicious. For entrées, our table had the breaded walleye, the Bolognese pasta, and the Porchetta. The walleye and Bolognese were outstanding, but unfortunately the Porchetta was a big letdown. The skin was chewy rather than crisp, with a thick layer of unrendered fat beneath it, and most concerning, it still had visible pig hair. I was expecting the classic combination of crackling skin, melting fat, and tender pork, but instead it was oddly undercooked on the outside, dry inside, and after biting into hair, I really lost my appetite for it. We finished with tiramisu and a torte, and both desserts were excellent -- a strong way to end the meal. Overall, Anima Cucina has a lot going for it: charming atmosphere, friendly staff, great starters, and standout entrées (other than the Porchetta). I'd happily return for the appetizers, pasta, fish, and desserts, but I'd avoid the Porchetta based on my experience.

Highly recommended from frequent visitor. Food quality is one of the best in Bismarck. Best brunch in town if you want a drink to go with it. Eggs Benedict are wonderful and I love the build-your-own Bloody Mary bar. Wish they had more burger options and would bring back their eating challenge. I've enjoyed almost every food item I've ever ordered here including Boneless Wings, Sandwiches, Shepherd's Pie, sweet potato fries, etc. Their Blarney dip is out of this world. Atmosphere is overall wonderful, although sometimes feels a little too dark. Love coming here to watch sports. Service is very attentive, sometimes almost too attentive. Great team of employees there - they do a great job making you feel welcome. Surprised that more people don't go here. read more

When I moved back to North Dakota I was excited to hear of this place. The food is good and the atmosphere is unique to Bismarck for sure! Some areas are noisier than others, but there are quiet spots also, depending on what you're looking for. 21 and over with plenty of larger seating for groups of 6+. read more
