We love the food here! Lots of options and several traditional Irish or German dishes. I had the salmon with the lemon cream sauce- it was very good. Hubby got the beef stroganoff. It was really tasty and large- we probably should have split! Local vibe without being overly divey. The service was good- fast but we didn't feel rushed. Good beer selection and fair wine selection. I visited this pub during Bismarck's first snowstorm of the year! When I went there really weren't that many people there, but those that were there were really having a good time and it sounded like Dublin Ireland! When I was in Ireland I don't remember any of the food being very impressive but I didn't go for the food. When you come here, you go for the food. I actually ordered a Hungarian goulash dish. It was so much better than I imagined and may even have been better than the goulash I had in Budapest! The noodles were dense and held up to the meat very well. The sauce was incredible and the portion was huge! I couldn't eat it all and I wish I could've taken the rest as leftovers but I didn't want to travel with food. We were in town from San Antonio TX which is why we didn't know that the sun in Bismarck during July doesn't go down till about 9:30 pm so we looked up so popular spots. We originally went to the Walrus restaurant which that's a whole other situation. Anyways a couple there recommended Blarney Stone. And they didn't let us down! Finding an Irish pub in Bismarck ND while we were traveling wasn't what we were expecting so we thought we would give it a try. The atmosphere was fun and the staff were friendly. I had the dirty bangers and mash and my daughter had mac and cheese with bacon. Both plates of food were delicious!! What a great review so you must be wondering why a four star? Well, we ordered a root beer float and we received a cup of ice cream so we had to ask for root beer to be added. We also had to ask for silverware after our food came. The waiter asked me if beans were fine for my side so I said yes not knowing I was going to be charged for spicy black beans! But overall food was great, just be sure to ask for silverware before your food comes;) read more

We stopped in for lunch. I had the Asian Salad and my partner had a sandwich. The food was wonderful, also the chefs care a lot about presentation, the dishes looked lovely. Our waitress was very attentive and refilled my water without prompting, which was wonderful. The sun patio is really well designed, I also liked the inside seating area as it is the kind of layout I favor personally (might not be everyone's cup of tea but it adds to the atmosphere/style of a Irish pub.) It's my belief that every community needs an Irish pub, it's part of the American social atmosphere like happy hour and farm trucks. I can tell a lot of work and thoughtfulness went into designing this pub. BTW we did stop in back in 2013 but it was at night so I didn't notice the décor back then. read more

One of the best places in town, and so much more than your typical Irish pub! We have been to Blarney Stone a few times now and it has become one of our favorite places in Bismarck! While we love their bar, their food selection is also pretty great! We enjoy the bar because they have a large menu with a lot of specialty cocktails as well as tap beers and ciders! I have tried a few of their different cocktails and have never been disappointed! They also offer a good variety of food options. Whether you are looking for a light lunch, some delicious appetizers,or a nice hearty dinner you will be able to find something great here! My regular lunch stop in Bismarck, that means spending hard earned funds on quality food. The prime rib dinner and left over sandwich (next days lunch special if any is left) are on par with most high end steakhouses. Salads are fresh too. I have tried the basic sandwiches and the Kilkenny fish and will suggest the fish as a better than average alternative. As for the staff...very professional and Travis who was the waiter our first night still stops to check on things even when its not his section, 6-months later! read more

We usually have a great experience at Blarney Stone, which is why I'm rating it 3 stars instead of 1. Today I went in with a couple friends to get a few drinks, we sat at a booth. We've sat in the same area numerous times just for drinks and haven't seemed to have an issue. We had two waitresses serve us, the first one was very polite and nice to speak to. However, the second one was extremely rude and seemed to rush us out. It seemed like it was an issue that we weren't ordering food. I'm not sure if the waitress was just having a hard day, or was just intentionally rude but did not make it a pleasant experience. Just arrived in town and walked from my hotel to the Blarney Stone for a late lunch. A great experience all around. The atmosphere is fun and friendly, with the staff really going the extra mile to make everyone feel right at home. I was greeted and spoken to by every employee I came across. The food was elevated pub grub, with a extensive menu. I had Salmon and Lox from the appetizer menu for my entree. The food was served promptly, very well presented and was a pretty substantial portion. And, everything tasted fresh. It also looks like a great place to spend an evening watching some sports on tv with a cold beer. This is my first time in Bismarck, but I will definitely hit the Blarney Stone again on my next trip. I've been to the Blarney Stone twice since moving to Bismarck and I've been very pleased both times. The first time I went, I went with a few friends, mostly for drinks, but also for a good dinner. The first time I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and substituted the cottage bacon for regular bacon. Wise decision, it was spectacular. I had Seamus fries as my side. Seamus fries are their waffle-cut potato fries smothered with gravy and sour cream. Healthy? No. Delicious? Duh. For dessert I had the chocolate cake, which came with ice cream, whipped cream and a delicious boozy sauce that made it one big scrumptious bowl of awesome. I also ordered a beer sampler (or two or three) and a few Big Gingers. The drinks were great and our server was very attentive. We ate in the large back room by the fireplace and it was loud, but we were there to unwind after work so it didn't really bother us. They have quasi-outdoor seating during the summer. They roll up the big garage windows and you can sit at your table and remember what it's like to feel like a human before you have to face winter again. The second time, one of my coworkers and I ordered food to go. She ordered a shepherd's pie and I ordered the reuben. The food was ready when we arrived less than 10 minutes later and I was able to pay and get back to the office super fast. The reuben is one of the best I've ever had. It's piled high, the bread has a perfect toast on it, the cheese is melty and the dressing is tangy and sweet...what I'm trying to say here is that their reuben is perfection. I had sweet potato fries (also in a waffle cut) as my side with dublin dip and ranch dressing. The dublin dip is some sort of pinkish orange cream-based awesome and I've never experienced anything like it before. It has good flavor and is great on the fries. The ranch is also above average. I'm a self-proclaimed ranch dressing snob and this was quality ranch, even if a touch on the thin side. My one gripe: My to go reuben came with a pickle (which I was unaware of) so by the time I got to the side of the sandwich the pickle surprise was hiding under, the pickle had sogged my bread. Is sogged even a word? I don't think it is, but it is an accurate description. Go: If you want good beer and great food, funky new twists on your favorite classics and if you want to say "bangers and mash." read more
