Anthony arrived with another gentleman, Dom, on time and they patiently listened while I explained what was going on and what I tried. Anthony told me they'd first try to snake the drain and if that didn't work, there was another procedure with a water jet. I appreciated him being upfront about the fact that the first thing they would try may not work in order to set expectations. Decided to go with the snaking and Anthony let me know the price and proceeded to do the work. They were very thorough, spending about an hour working on it and testing it. By the end of the snaking, everything was working without an issue! Throughout the work, Anthony and Dom were extremely pleasant. They took extra care to ask if it was okay to move things onto the counter or if I wanted any extra protection on the floor. The great work, attention to detail, and general pleasantness mean I'll be calling Downtown Plumbing anytime I need a plumber.

I shared approved Dept of Buildings plans and supervisor came out for a walk-through and verbally quoted me $20,000, saying as he left he'd write the detailed proposal based on his $20,000 verbal quote. However, when he emailed his proposal the price shot up 92.3% to $38,460.00! I emailed back to get justification, but never received a response to the exorbitant markup from the verbalized quote at my house. I wanted to know why Harris would not honor the $20,00 I was quoted during the site visit? I have been a repeat client of this business paying $1000s at each of their visits to do my plumbing work, and was told that because of this fact, I'd get a slight discount on my renovation proposal for the plumbing aspect. But a 92.3% markup from original quote of $20,000 is extortion, fraud and just bad business practice to say the very least! I found out also that they don't come out and tell you that they charge a discharge/service fee to come out, but $150/per hour of travel time is quietly--not disclosed to customer--added to their bills, yet never disclosed to you upfront. They were coming from the office location in Brownsville and I'm all the way down south on Avenue Z in Sheepshead Bay and they must take the side streets to get to me because commercial vehicles are not permitted on the Belt Parkway. I will stop being a repeat loyal customer to Harris Plumbing and Heating and will not refer them to anyone else ever again. I'll be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau also. After dealing with two other plumbers who don't return calls, show up late or not at all, etc. it was so refreshing to work with someone reliable. He provided a fair quote to switch out a bathroom vanity sink with a new one I'd purchased after looking at pictures of my existing plumbing and the new pedestal I needed installed. Note that his quotes are set for a job including materials, not the usual time + materials situation you see with most contractors. Again, he knows what he's doing and the transparency is a breath of fresh air. The morning of our appointment he showed up 20 minutes early, focused on finishing the work, got it done within the expected window (this included a quick run to Home Depot for supplies), and left the bathroom looking tidy. Robert was polite and answered questions about other work I might need to have done in the future - I wouldn't hesitate to call him again for those projects. Contact me no further Update to business owner. Jay came to my house on 10/7. I have a receipt with your business name on it for the $175 I paid in cash, as he required. Have a lovely day. I was very surprised at the very lax/vague statement of work, the proposed price tag of $25,000 and the fact that when I wouldn't sign at 9:00 PM, the quote paperwork was taken away. I ended up with a master plumber who determined the cause and repaired the pipes for a fraction of the proposed amount.

I found No Drainage No Problem via yelp and Nabil gave me a free quote. Nabil went to my tenant's apartment right away to review the issue and to patch it up. I was not at the location so Nabil assessed the issue, called me about what was wrong, provided an updated quote and went off to buy the materials. Nabil went to buy the materials and came back to fix the problem quickly. Nabil replaced the fill valve and the rubber gasket. Afterwards, he leveled and applied silicone sealant around the base of the toilet to minimize risk of leakage from instability. He also walked through the work performed with my tenants and explained the issue. My tenants notified me that Nabil was very nice and left the place clean as he vacuumed even behind the toilet! After the job was done, I got a full report from both my tenant and Nabil. Both my tenants and I are very happy about the job. I paid Nabil via Zelle and am happy that I was able to rely on Nabil to do the job quickly and efficiently.
