I can't believe I haven't reviewed Blaze yet! This place quickly became a fave for me. I love the build-your-own, Subway-style pizza shop. The crust is always lovely, albeit thin. You can pick whatever (and how much of whatever) toppings you want! Go for 'er! And Blaze has some especially nice toppings - ricotta cheese, turkey meatballs, applewood smoked bacon, sauteed onions, to name a few. It gets tossed in the oven, pulled out within minutes, gets a drizzle of whatever sauce you might like (and perhaps some arugula?) and you're out! 10 minutes and $12 later, you have a perfectly delicious customized pizza with fresh gourmet toppings. I'm not really sure what more you could ask for. read more

Blaze pizza is another fast food type place located in the brewery district. Unlike its counter part South Street Burger across the parking lot this place has friendly staff and a much more inviting atmosphere. It's a little strange when you walk in and frankly I didn't know quite what to do. Fortunately for me the staff has obviously been trained to deal with morons like me and a exceptionally helpful guy helped us with our order. It's kind of a cafeteria line like set up with toppings galore set out. You order your pie du jour and proceed down the line to pick extra toppings etc...Then you get to pick your beverage which is either terrible wine or mediocre beer. Soft drinks may also be an option... The nice thing is they ask your name at the beginning and constantly refer to you by name which is a very nice touch. They call your name when your pizza is ready and away we go! The pizza is pretty tasty. The sauce is flavourful, the sausage is amazing, and a crust so thin you could see thru it. This place is probably a 3.5 star kinda joint but honestly the friendliness of the staff pushes into 4 star for me. Will definitely go back and try another offering. Blaze pizza....my one criticism. Better wine, better beer. I don't mind big house wines, but nobody from there ever intended the cans to be served outside of a camping or bonfire situation. It looks cheap for the wino's like me. At least pour it before you serve it. And as much as Mill Street and Steamwhistle are good brews a little variety would be nice to go to with a pie. Something Italian perhaps. Good job see you soon. Lots of options to choose from, very affordable and filling pizza! Highly recommend the build your own pizza as they have gluten free crust option as well as vegan cheese! I tried this place a few weeks ago and have been trying to resist going every day :P Lots of interesting toppings that aren't available in your average local pizza delivery place. Example: sautéed onion, minced garlic, arugula toppings etc. Very tasty, busy but your not waiting forever for your order and for the time you do wait it is 100% worth it! read more

This is the place I like to go when I'm craving pizza. For $12.95, I get to add any topping I want for my build-your-own pizza. The staff are usually pretty friendly and they definitely don't judge me when I add every type of meat possible on my pizza and just spinach and mushrooms for vegetables. And if you download the app, there's constantly promotions for free drinks or other food items. You even get points for every dollar spent, to eventually get a free pizza. Wow! This place is delicious - I got the build your own pizza where they make it right in front of you subway style. I got 1/2 spicy and 1/2 regular tomato sauce, which has the perfect amount of bite for me. They have a few different kinds of cheese - I got regular mozza with a little but of ricotta. They have a ton of different toppings and they let you put on as much as you want - I got ham, bacon, pinapple, kalamata olives, basil, and oregano. Then into the oven for a few minutes, and when it comes out you can add a few finishing touches - I added argula and balsamic reduction. It was so good and a pizza was more than enough for lunch for one person. read more

Build your own pizza?? For cheap?? Sign me up! Been here many times, and i still like it. You can choose from ordering one of their pizzas (still customizable) or build your own. I honestly only come here for the build your own feature. This place is great for all the picky eaters out there (like me). You can choose your kind of crust, toppings, sauce, you name it. Came in on a Wednesday night at around 7:30, they had a small lineup. The workers were all very nice and decently cheerful (it's probably been a long day for everyone). My pizza came out pretty fast, despite how many people there were. Taste was as I'd expected, since i did build it myself. Only slight complain i had was a small part of the crust was burnt. But that definitely didn't stop me from eating it. Portions are pretty decent for the price. I personally can never finish one whole pizza, but of course everyone's different. Will definitely be back again for another chill dinner. read more

Okay so after my first mediocre experience at Blaze, they were nice enough to reach out and offer me a pizza to make up for it. So we decided to go back, and realized that the first time we didn't really understand how the whole process worked. This time we got the build your own pizza for $11.95, and it was much better. There is a pretty big selection of sauces, cheese, meats and veggies. My partner and I shared one pizza which was enough for both of us considering how many toppings we put on this go around! It was a much better experience this time, and I'm happy we got the chance to return. read more

Really good pizza and I love the fact that they have vegan cheese. Customer service was fast and friendly. But I hate how much waste they have there. No washable cups all disposable Cups, straws, cutlery. ( even if you're eating in the restaurant ) Very wasteful -hard to support a restaurant like that. read more

I ordered blaze pizza for the first time a few weeks ago. The pizza was amazing!! Super tasty, lots of toppings and awesome gluten free crust. But the second time I ordered it from the same location, my pizza came looking like it had sat on the counter.. dry sauce and everything. Barely any chicken on there and any other toppings for that matter. I could have got a Safeway ready made pizza and it would look better than the blaze pizza did... There were also 3 other people who ordered with me and their pizzas were all the same way... missing toppings and dry. Such a piss off and I will never order again. read more

One of our favourite pizza places in the city. We love the quick dining style of Blaze and the delicious and fresh ingredients they use. The price is right! Second time being there was it was so great! Everyone working there is always so nice and kind even when you have lots of questions about the process. I went with a friend who has celiacs and she got the gluten free crust- they asked if it was a preference or if they needed to change their gloves. The changed their gloves, used a different sauce, used a different cutter, and put it on a placemat so it wouldn't interact with other gluten pizzas. Had a fantastic first experience at blaze! My partner and I split a make your own pizza and it was great! For twelve dollars we both left satisfied. It would be great to go on your own or fun to share the experience as a group! Nice environment and great service. Excellent selection of toppings and it was fun making a unique pizza together! We had olives pepperoni ham spinach bacon with ranch dressing drizzled over top. Once the pizza was topped, they fired it in the oven and three minutes later we were enjoying our creation. The pizza came out at a great temperature so we could dive right in! Also it was a nice thin crust and not too greasy. The spinach and other toppings were extremely fresh and flavourful and the pizza was served on a cool metal pizza pan. They offer beer and wine but also have a great selection at the soda machine so really a great spot to bring your friends or family. You can eat quickly and be out fast or stay a while so it is a very dynamic restaurant. We will be going back soon. Can't wait to make our next creation! read more

The staff at the Brewery District location on 104 Ave here in Edmonton were very rude when we attempted to order. We walked in and were greeted with " Did you order online ". No hello or anything remotely pleasant. When we said no, they said: " Can't help you." That was it. No other options or suggestions. I sure am glad business is so good you can blow off business like that. I do not like the online ordering, you can't order extra of any topping. I'd order by phone, but that's not an option either. Due to the abrupt rudeness and having no option to order other than online, I will NEVER order from Blaze again. read more

Decent thin crust pizza with a good array of toppings. I opted for design your own and went with peperoni, smoked ham, meatballs, italian sausage, mushrooms, and fresh basil all on a spicy red sauce.. You can choose as many toppings as you like for less than $12. The price can't be beat. As others have mentioned, it's a bit of a Subway for pizza.. but with better toppings. The crust itself was good, but a bit on the chewy side. Which is still better than the ultra thin soggy mess you get at a certain other 'famous' chain. They're licenced too, and offer a handful of beers and whatnot. I'd go back I think. read more

Food tasted great but ordering was confusing at first. Didn't know where to order, at the till or at the other end. We figured we'd start at the other end. We had some questions and we waited a bit of time before being acknowledged. We ordered a one topping pizza but the topping was so sparse, basically we had crust with pizza sauce. Staff were friendly. Update: visited again to meet friends on July 14th. Although toppings were still sparse, pizza was actually good. Staff were once again, awesome. read more

The ones that gave 4-5 stars should not be allowed to say what good food is they take shortcuts cuts with the sauce they use tomato paste can you put Herb's in it and call it pizza sauce really the music is way too loud the crust is the thick crust is so thin that it falls apart and it's almost like you're going to cut your mouth with it and they knew how pizza was made they be dangerous and they skip on the ingredients they put as little as possible and it's not worth the time to come and they charge way too much for the pop and toppings they will not last long as a real pizza place it's more like a pizza dud. read more

The location is fantastic, right in the heart of the new Market district on 104th street, and with us living so close, I can easily see us coming back because it's so convenient. The Pros 1. Sauce - There's nothing that warms my heart more than a great tomato sauce that tastes like fresh tomatoes and not canned. I've only found two chains that manage to pull it off and Blaze is one of them (Famoso is the other). 2. Crust -The regular crust is crunchy, just the way I like it, and can hold a reasonable amount of toppings and still be handled with one hand on the slice. 3. Aqua Fresca - rotating varieties of infused water, which help keep the calories down vs. pop, and the two varieties I've tried so far taste delicious. 4. Price - a personalized 10" pizza for under 12 bucks? I'm in. 5. Flexibility - With so many toppings to pick from, there's virtually nothing you can't make and with unlimited toppings, you can load it up. The Cons 1. Noise - With the music blaring, and a half full house, I struggled to hear the questions from the staff assembling my pizza. I can't even imagine how loud it would get in there with a full crop of people. 2. Pretentious Marketing - you're not 'artisan' anything if you've got a row of 20 somethings assembling pizza in a Subway-like assembly line for people. Don't hold it against the staff, though, because they were all very friendly. 3. Confusion - the staff really struggled to understand that I wanted two of their stock pizzas, just the way they were told to make them in training. I was asked multiple times if I wanted extra toppings, sometimes the same toppings over and over, as if the person hadn't processed that I'd already said no. I put this down to teething issues because it's only been opened a couple of weeks. read more

Definitely my to go place from now on. They are extremely fast. "Fast fired" definitely no lie about that! And the pizza i had yesterday and today were DELICIOUS!!! With a nice thin and Crispy base. Perfectly seasoned. Excellent service. The whole team was so friendly and always smiling. The ambiance and energy in the restaurant is awesome. They are all really cool. And they're calling all customers by their first name which made me feel extra special. My to go pizza place. No more getting delivery for me!! Great job guys! Alright, but you'll have to beg for cheese and extra toppings. The concept is great, but the staff are trained to keep the toppings light. It's been pretty busy the two time I've gone but once the line up was to the door and still only took about 25 minutes, super quick workers and definitely worth the wait! Went to this new restaurant this evening and it was something funky and new! When we waked in, the staff were very friendly and super nice and explained how it worked. Prices were reasonable for what you got (we did make your own pizza with unlimited toppings). Staff called you by name and we're chatty throughout the whole experience. When we got home the pizza tasted delicious! I would for sure go back to try another pizza and maybe a glass of wine! read more
