I wish that I would've tried this much sooner than I did! I've known of Blaze for a while but never thought to try them out. I popped by one afternoon and decided to give them a try. I was pleasantly surprised by the taste and quality of it. They have a small set menu of flavours, however, for $1 more you can build your own. The best part? The toppings are unlimited and does not cost extra! For around $16 this is pretty decent. You also have the option of getting half a pizza with a choice of a side salad, cheese bread, or cinnamon bread. You can also choose your crust. I found one pizza to be very filling if you're really hungry. The first time I went I just got a basic flavour but for my second visit I chose to build my own. Both times the pizza was delicious, fresh, and hot. The cinnamon bread is also really good especially fresh out of the oven. Customer service was great and the restaurant was pretty clean. This visit, I came on a lunch break from work, but it is not the first time at Blaze Pizza. They are always fast to welcome me in, and take my custom gluten free, lactose free pizza order! The pizza is made right in front of you, as you can order it custom as they are putting it together. The pizza is baked in a open flame oven, (it is manually rotated as it is cooking). You can watch it bake it you like; or have a seat and they will call you up when it is done. There is extra toppings offered for fresh toppers after it is baked. You can eat in, or take out! The seating area is kept clean, the service is polite and fast! The pizza itself is delicious. This visit, I was so hungry from watching it be made, I forgot to take a picture of the finished product. Oops! ... next time! I have been to Blaze a few times, and they have never disappointed; I will definitely visit again! Side note: If you can eat gluten; they offer fresh oven baked smores as well... This is like the subway of pizza chains. They have a menu, but the build your own pizza is way better! I always get the high dough, it's a thicker crust that holds together much better! The service is great, if you've never been there, the employee walks you through the concept, and they're very patient with you while you decide! My first time at Blaze Pizza. I have heard so many people rav about it. It was alright. I'd give it another try. I really love the fact that you can get just half a pizza, pick from a wide variety of toppings and sauces. Service at this location was great. The workers great you and are so helpful. They will ask you if it's your first time to a Blaze Pizza and will walk you through the process. I found that touch very helpful. The staff came by our table to see how everything was and greeted us again as we left. Such a nice atmosphere. I'm a sucker for a white sauce and they did deliver on the white sauce. The restaurant itself is a good sized location and while on a sunny day like this one, window coverings would be helpful as there was a lot of glare, it was a pleasant casual dining experience. Blaze Pizza has only been here only about 2 yrs in Edmonton , they have 3 locations. One is at Manning Crossing, one in Downtown and the other at South Common. My sister and I arranged to meet for dinner here. First impression. The place has a nice warm feel to it and once we took a step forward, the girl behind the counter asked if we ever were here before. When we said no, she explained the entire process of how the ordering works. Basically , you can either select one of their own or you can create your own. If I can recommend something here. .. make your own ! The place works under the same premise as Subway restaurants. You select your own toppings ! For $12.85 you can load it up with toppings and the size of the pizza is about 11 inch in diameter. So the process starts at the dough, which was made the night before and left to rise . It is pressed only when the customer starts their order. There are three ways to have your dough.. regular, thick or gluten free . From there it is sauce choices ( pesto, alfredo, regular tomato sauce and spicy tomato ( which has a real zing to it ), different cheeses ( even vegan ) , proteins, veggies. You move down the line selecting toppings -. There are lots of choices - even if you are gluten free vegetarian - as the staff assemble it. Once you get to the register , your pizza is placed in a gas burning stone oven for about 4 minutes ( blazing fast... I know !! ). Once it is fully baked, you can have sauces drizzled on top of it or leave it as it. My sister is a vegetarian and hers was delicious ( according to her.. I am not a vegetarian so I wouldn't know ). Mine was loaded with pepperoni, ham, and bacon. Taste wise.. it was pretty good actually. Considering this company started in 2011, they have now over 50 restaurants all over the US and Canada. We came here for a quick supper before a movie. Its an interesting concept where they make the pizza in front of you like a subway. The pizza was ok. The best thing about it was it was fast. I have nothing but good things to say about Blaze Pizza. I've visited both locations and each time I have an excellent experience. I stopped by this location for their $3.14 pizza on Pi Day. Line was only about 10 minutes long but as soon as you get up to the counter, the staff is very friendly and helpful. When I told one of the ladies my pie is vegetarian she offered to change her gloves. Any vegetarian will tell you that's extremely rare! The toppings are endless - feta, Parmesan, Gorgonzola, ricotta, mozzarella, spinach, chopped garlic, whole roasted garlic, artichokes, pineapple, green peppers, etc. Once your pizza is ready it doesn't take long to cook and then you can have toppings such as rocket, olive oil drizzle, pesto drizzle and ranch sauce before you can eat. I especially like the Green Stripe with garlic and pesto, it's really flavorful. They also have some unique drink options and nice salads. The reason for four stars, rather than five. At this location the sun pours through South facing windows and it gets crazy hot in the little restaurant. I felt sorry for the staff - especially the guy at the pizza oven. This is my favourite fast food pizza place!! Despite how busy and hectic this place I keep coming back due to the quality of ingredients used. I have now overcome the problem of the lack of seating in this place by ordering via the app and picking up the pizza. The app gives you points towards free pizza or drinks. The ordering system via the app is as efficient as in store. You select the crust, sauce and ingredients you like followed by glazes or dips you want with your pizza. It could get a little intimidating to someone who came here for the first time but it's definitely something you'll find yourself coming back for. I always build my own pizza as I never know what toppings I'll want that day, and the staff here are always very friendly. Its very similar to the quality of famoso pizza but doesnt come with the expensive price tag! The lines can move pretty quick even on busy days. You'll never find yourself waiting more than 15 minutes in total to get your food. Theres an abundance of seating within the restaurant if you choose to eat there, and the atmosphere is great to catch up with some friends! Ive come here maybe 3 times within the past 2 weeks because I love it so much, and the price of a pizza and a drink costs around 15 dollars in total. Blaze recently opened at South Common so we decided to try it while we were there shopping. I would best describe it as the Subway of pizza places. Except they make the dough in front of you and all the toppings look fresh and amazing! The bacon is real bacon. They work on a line and build your pizza in front of you. My family all kept asking for more cheese, so don't be afraid to have it made your way. The staff was so awesome and friendly. Very nice to deal with. Prices were reasonable. 3 pizzas and drinks were $38. They even had a little patio. We will be back for sure! read more

I went there today and worst experience ever!! I ordered online and I had to wait an extra 30 mins for them to make my pizza . 7 other ppl came in after me and they made all there pizzas. When they finally started to make the pizzas i had now ordered an hour ago they made one way after the others ... so my friends pizza was super cold compared to mine.... Finally checked out Blaze Pizza (07-18-18) was surprised how busy it was after 9pm on a Tuesday night. The wait time to order, was a bit long. When the lady did get to us, she started taking my order, then walked off. Which was odd. I ordered the Plain Jane and finished it with ranch + hot sauce. It was delicious. I love a good cheese pizza. My pizza was black/burnt around the edges (the cook apologized but nice to know it's not a big deal to them). Pizza was 3/5 (the burntness really affected the taste but totally has the potential to be 5/5) Service 2/5 (the apology bumped them up from the original 1/5) Maybe I'll try it again when it's not busy and they are trying to rush through making a dozen pizzas...just expected a place like this, to know how to handle a mini rush. read more

The guy at the oven handed us our pizzas very rudely and told us to get out of the way after, we mentioned we also ordered dough knots and he was so annoyed about it and said they were in the oven still (which is fine) we were just being sent on our way without them until I said something. I've been a fan of Blaze pizza, but this location doesn't seem to live up to the others. I find them super stingy on the toppings at this location. Yes, I know you can add more, but the first time I visited here was with a group and many just ordered a pizza off the menu, and they were all surprised by the lack of toppings, as was I. I always build my own, and rarely do I have to say "more please" at other locations, but both times I visited this one, I had to say it for the cheese and the meat. I imagine people who don't know you can add more toppings must often be disappointed at this location. And the definitely don't promote that you can add more. It would be nice if the said "Is that enough?" or something along those lines. read more

i guess this is a popular chain with over 200 locations despite only being around since 2011. their south commons location just open this fall. ive only had a chance to try them twice but these people are well polished and really got their act together. its kind of like subway. they have a few house pizzas but they also have an assembly line build your own pizza for one price option. the price is 12.55 and you get the thinnest crust ive seen on a pizza... with as many toppings as you want. theres 4 differnt sause to choose from theres 6 or 7 types of cheese... no extra cost theres at least that many meats including both italian and turkey meatballs. all the veggie options anyone can ask for oregeno if you want it... olive oil... other finishes its all fried in about 3-4 minutes in this crazy wood burner oven. entire time from order to leaving with my pizza is around 10 mins it is a thin pizza... definitely not enouIgh food to fill me up twice... but it goes down great for a lunch treat. i was looking for a favorite edmonton pizza restraunt for the past 5 years and finally i got one read more

Visited the grand opening for Blaze Pizza in South Edmonton Common. They offered free pizza to each guest (something very rare in today's economy)!! The staff were very organized in handling the crowd entering as well as creating your pizza!! And the pizza was very enjoyable as was the Agua Fresco! A thoroughly enjoyable experience! We tried the BBQ Chicken pizza. It was really good. I never eat the crust whenever I have pizza but their crust was perfect. The pizza was not dry and the portion of ingredients were just right. The drinks were also refillable and it was great that there are other options to choose from aside from softdrinks. Staff were really friendly too. This place is subway style starts with a yummy generous sized thin crust, (gluten free option available) then you can choose one of their pre made flavours or pick your own unlimited toppings for just under $12. This particular employee has never failed to make my pizza exactly how I want it and is always very friendly and helpful. I always try to seek her out when I visit.
