Blazing Bagels has been on the list for awhile. I decided to try the Waterford location. It was early on a weekday morning but there were a few other customers coming in and out. The man working here was pleasant and eager to serve. He told me he had been here for many years and I will enjoy the bagels and apologized for cash only. I am not sure why he does not accept credit but luckily I had enough to pay. The other customer agreed the bagels were good. It is a very small shop that does not carry much else, there were the bagels in bins and a list of cream cheese flavors. Everything was moderately priced and I did want to try their lox but it was the priciest sandwich so I went with a dozen bagels and a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. The man microwaved the toppings and added it to the bagel but did not cut the sandwich in two. I was a bit suspicious of the cooking method but the sandwich was fairly decent, but pretty thin. The bagels themselves were pretty tasty. They had the nice shine on the outside and chewy on the inside. I have not had enough bagels in New York to actually compare but very comparable to the ones you might get at the smaller West Bloomfield shops. But the bagels themselves are tiny. Shockingly small. Really you could eat two to be the equivalent of one bagel from yesteryear. I paid $11.50 for a dozen, so not bad, especially since one is listed as $1.25. Would I go back? Probably. I did enjoy the taste, texture, and style of the bagel. Might I try a different location? Yes. There is one in Commerce that appears to be bigger and offer a larger selection. I am not sure if they are related, same company, same recipe...a franchise? They are not listed together online but have the same menu. The prices online are slightly different in Commerce and I am not sure if they take credit cards over there. But the ones here did taste fresh. read more

Stopped in today and was pleasantly surprised with the selection of bagels, friendly staff, and delicious Asiago bagel with tomato slice I ordered. I brought salt sticks home for the family and they were gone in minutes. Blazing Bagels is going to be a regular spot for me, so happy I stumbled upon this place. This place has the best tasting bagels I've ever had. They're a bit smaller but thicker than average. I love the way they taste and they're made fresh right there. It's cash only but be aware they don't have any sweet bagel flavors (apple crumble, chocolate chip, etc.). This place smells amazing and has a great value and fast service. read more

I try and support local mom and pop places such as Blazing Bagels. However, my first visit will probably be my last. I had an everything bagel with bacon, egg and cheese. It honestly was pretty bad. The eggs are those cheap, run of the mill, $1.99/dozen eggs that are bland and rubbery. The bacon wasn't crunchy but it was flavorless. It's amazing how terrible customer service is here. Grumpy, disrespectful and whiny young woman who cares more about her cell phone then she does her customers and work area. I'd suggest hiring someone who takes pride in what they do and smiles even when you might be having a terrible day. These are real NY style bagels, not the 'glorified muffin with a hole in the middle you get at the big chain restaurants. Bagels are always fresh, as they close early if they run out (so get there on the earlier side!), and if you get there in the first couple hours, you'll be treated to a warm bagel. Also, be sure to try the flavored cream cheese - it seems a little pricey, but it's homemade and delicious. read more

Owner is not friendly, terrible customer service. Admittedly, I haven't tried the food simply because they don't take credit cards. I came in about a year ago and didn't have cash so they didn't get business from me that day. Walked in today thinking maybe they came to their senses since it's 2021, but still no credit card machine. Owner said "I don't have a credit card machine, haven't had one for years." My wife places an online order for 4 bagels 2 toasted and 2 not toasted and four cream cheeses. I received a confirmation on my phone that our order was placed and would be ready. I arrived 10-15 mins later. When I walked in and told the guy behind the counter I was there to pick up a carry out order, he become rude. He told me I should have called to confirm that the bagels we wanted were available and that since it was the end of the morning he probably didn't have what I wanted. I explained that this was our first time ordering with his shop and that the website didn't say they weren't available. So they had only 4 kinds of bagels left, I agreed to just take 4 of them of a different flavor. When he asked what 2 kinds of cream cheese I wanted I told him we ordered 4 and he disagreed and said we only ordered 2. Not wanting to deal with him further I told him what 2 kinds of cream cheese would go on 2 bagels. He mixed them up and I didn't realize till I get home and the wrong cream was placed on both bagels. I was charged for 2 cream cheeses I did not get. I ordered an Asiago cheese bagel that was $2.00 and since they were out I took a $1.00 everything bagel and not offered a refund. I had to scrap the honey cinnamon cream cheese off my bagel and swap it for the jalapeño that was on my wife's plain bagel. We didn't not enjoy the mix of cinnamon and jalapeño mix of flavors. I was going to give this guy a break for being rude from the second I walked in but since our food was wrecked, and we were over charged The combo was too much. Very friendly employees who serve up freshly baked bagels with several flavored cream cheeses. Try the olive jalapeño cream cheese! There are some cold drinks in a cooler as well as fresh hot coffee. This place is tucked away in the corner of an L shaped plaza and it's one you don't want to miss. There are a variety of bagels to choose from as well as a variety of creme cheese.
