James is amazing! He's been doing me and my cousins tattoos for years now, but yesterday he did my mother n law's tattoo on her foot. He made her feel really comfortable, and was very patient with her. He printed up a couple stencils for her and even placed a few, so she could pick the one she really wanted. The tattoo took all of 15 minutes which was just enough for her. James is an artist, and he's also has a pretty dope personality! She said that James vibe is very chill and if she was going to get more tattoos he would be her guy. Blazing Horse is in a good location right off of Jackson. They have a parking lot in the back, so you car will be safe. In side there's a huge big screen tv for you to watch while you're getting tatted. read more

Daniel really went out of his way to put my friend's mind at ease when she laid down on his table to get her first tattoo. He joked, made her laugh (bad idea though since the tattoo was on her hip) and repeatedly reminded her that, if at any point the pain got a little too much, he could stop to give her a break. It really helped to soothe her nerves. Daniel also did a great job in doing the sketch for what my friend wanted. He even printed out a couple different sizes for her to hold up and size, and listened to the suggestions she brought to the table, even as he was laying the template down. And it only cost her $100, not including the tip! The only thing I had an issue with was the fact that some guy just walked right up to where my friend was getting her tattoo about halfway through the 1.5 hour session, sat down, and essentially hung out with us for the rest of the time that my friend was getting her tattoo done. I mean, luckily, my friend didn't mind and Daniel seemed to know him (AND the guy did apologize and ask if we wanted him to leave but we told him he was fine, so he stayed), but I was definitely put off by it at first. But hey, not my tattoo, not my place to care. Overall, I really did enjoy the experience as the hand-holder to the tattoo-getter, and my friend was thrilled with how everything turned out in the end, so that's what really matters :) read more

Did some research before I went in and this looked like it had the most people and best reviews. I saw some potential customers called ahead of time with questions but I also saw it was better to just come in. The shop is located next to a Boost mobile store. And on the other side is a Liquor store & nail shop. I always get confused as to what parking lot goes with each place in the back. It's very easy to miss the back parking for the Blazing Horse and go to the wrong one. Then you have to go back out, make a U-turn and try again. It's a small shop but clean and open so no claustrophobia. All the artist are inviting. My initial thought of a tattoo shop is some doosh trying to get the most money or see the most skin w/lady customers. But this was nothing like that. Most places are professional. Their rep depends on it, you know. I did sign the release of liability before starting. I ended up getting a draft of my tattoo by James. Cool guy, quick & straight up. I didn't have enough money initially, so James asked if I could put some money down to reserve an appointment for a later date and I did. I reschedule for 3 weeks, made sure I really wanted the tat and knew where on my body I wanted it. We went over the colors desired, James gave me his card, my appt and a copy of the drafted tattoo I wanted. It was only my 2nd one in 10 years. I decided to get it on my upper shoulder. A friend of mine later told me he got his tattoo of his baby boy's footprint a while back at the Blazing Horse too. My boyfriend, never having a tattoo himself, came to watch & get some info. James was quick and had good convo. I was worried about the pain. Didn't drink alcohol so I wouldn't bleed much & I didn't. Painful areas went numb fast during tattooing (yes!). I went in yesterday and talked to Daniel to see if he does walk-ins...turns out he does! It was my first time getting a tattoo and I couldn't asked for more from this shop. Daniel was hella friendly and hella funny too. He managed to relieve my "stress" and "anxiety" of getting a tattoo. He just grabbed the picture out of my head on how I want my tattoo to be done and I tell you what, HE FUCKING NAILED IT. That day I getting a tattoo, the health inspector was also there inspecting around the shop which took us quite some time waiting but everything was worth it. He even managed to cut a deal with me on the tattoo since I had a budget on me. The whole experience was pretty good and I will definitely come back to get my 2nd tattoo. read more

I love this shop! I've known Sonny for a while, and he's an awesome dude. Very talented artist, and he takes his time drawing a piece and putting it on the exact spot on the body where it will look best. He's done a Japanese style pheonix with flowers on my left arm, and cursive writing behind both of my thighs. I just pitched him an idea to start a sleeve on my right arm so I'm excited to get started on that soon. I think some clients come into the shop without an appointment hoping to get tatted right away, which may turn off the client. It's not that the tattooists don't want to do the work, but they take pride in actually coming up with the best design for your idea. So if you just want a tattoo that's been sketched in 15 minutes without much thought and get tatted right away, you should probably go to a different shop. But if you want something that took time to utilize imagination and creation, definitely come here. People always tell me to get tatted by other artists or other shops, but I never do. I trust Sonny too much, I'm probably just going to get all of my tattoos from him ha. The shop also has a great vibe; spatious, clean, great artwork, flat screen tv(I like to watch Fantasy Factory to laugh away my pain), and awesome music slumpin. I came here last week to get a tattoo for my birthday. The staff there was super nice, and fun to hang out with while I was waiting. I had an image on hand that I wanted to edit, a skeleton key. They worked up a drawing for me and made sure everything was to my liking. They listened to exactly what I wanted to do and followed through on it. Finally it was time to get inked up! James was my artist, he was funny and definitely made me feel welcome. This is my second tattoo, but it's still a daunting experience, and he made me feel perfectly relaxed. While I was there, they were playing some movies and stand-up comedy specials on the TV, great way to keep my mind occupied from the pain! I got the tattoo on my left side, so they offered me a pillow to relax as well. An hour and 15 min or so later, ta da! All done! It looked amazing! The details in the key, such as the flourishes, and he added my initials like I wanted too! It was awesome! I definitely love it, and I'll definitely be thinking up of what I want next! Thanks James! Sonny is the main artist there, and the man that runs the shop, and he was working on someone as well. James and Daniel are both cocky and have zero talent. James is horrible to work with and has the worst attitude of any tattoo artist I have ever met. After trying to work with him on a design, I had such a bad taste in my mouth that I chose a different artist. I received a tattoo a year ago from Daniel. The design looked good when he put on the stencil, but after he was finished I discovered that he had sloppily not followed the guide and decided to "wing it" and disregard the stencil, which left me with a tacky, crooked tattoo that I will have to get removed. There is no way of fixing it. Very bad experience! Do yourself a favor and seek ink elsewhere. read more

He sent a couple of sketches for feedback prior to my appointment. First of all when I showed up to my appointment I was impressed that he was there cleaning & sterilizing his equipment and station. I am changing my review to one star. I texted and emailed the shop, they normally respond to me but for some reason they never did. I've been trying to reschedule our last session (I had two sessions with james) , this gave me the impression that james didn't want to finish the piece he did on my arms. Yeah I cancelled the last appointment I believe two days before the actual day because I was sick but that's still not enough reason to be ignoring a customer. There's no reason he wouldn't want to also because we treat him nice. I am thinking of getting my ink done by someone else since they don't seem to want to finish it. I did not come alone and he made sure that they were entertained while my tattoo was getting done as well.
