Really timely and friendly service. Was looking to process film quickly for my job and ended up giving half to Bleeker and half to Walgreens. The time it took for Walgreens to send out the disposables, wait for them to be sent back, and then print them out was almost a week. Bleeker, on the other hand, offered me the option to have my photos done by the next day and they were the more affordable option between the two. This is the best film lab in the city! Theyve processed hundreds of 35mm and 120 film for us and the scans are always the best quality. Ive never had a bad experience with scans or negatives. Nisha is always so nice and has always worked with my deadlines to get us our photos back as soon as possible. Today we dropped off 18 rolls of 120 from a big shoot and Bleeker was able to expedite the order so we can get it to our client by tomorrow night! This is my favorite place to get film developed in NYC. After years of getting work processed in LA, this was the third or fourth place I tried in New York. Their scans are fast, really high quality, and I've never had film come back in anything less than pristine quality. Anyone who shoots film understands how important it is to have a reliable, professional, and quality film lab to send your film to for development. I've been sending my film to Bleeker for over 3 years now, and their scan quality is incredible. In the past, I've sent my film to several different labs, but once I got my scans back from Bleeker for the first time I never went back to anyone else. They are also so fast! I usually get my scans back the day after they receive my film. They're very understanding, friendly, and helpful, and I couldn't recommend them more. I'm so glad that I found this film lab!! Also, just recently my film that I mailed to Bleeker was delivered to the wrong mailbox due to the confusion of the busy holiday season. These guys are great. I've been coming here for about a decade. My go-to for getting my 35mm and 120 film processed. The scans are high quality, and the color looks great. They even have an option to receive your scans as TIFF files, which I love. They share the scans with you via WeTransfer, and the turn-around time is fast. Previously I had gone to places that give you the images on a CD or you have to bring a thumb drive. This is SO much better. They seriously go above and beyond. My neighbor gave me an old camera that she hadn't used since the 1980's without realizing that there was a roll of 120 film still inside. I wanted to surprise her by getting the roll developed, but I knew the film was about 40 years old, discontinued, and the chances were slim that any images would come out. But to my surprise the whole roll came out! They really went the extra mile editing those images and it made my neighbor so happy to see them. I went to 4 passport places (Eliz Digital, Bleeker Digital, Forum, and Photobar), one after the other, to see what the differences were. The image I posted with this review shows the photos side-by-side. Bleeker Digital was the second-best price: $10 cash for 2, or $15 for 4. And tied (with Eliz Digital) for my favorite passport photo. Both Eliz and Bleeker let me smile in my photos, which IS allowed by the US Department of State. The travel.state.gov website states that passport photos be "Taken with a neutral facial expression or a natural smile, with both eyes open." That's it. No instructions regarding teeth, ears, or whatever else. The man who took my photo was perfectly reasonable, but I don't get the feeling he was game to take more than the 3 photos he took. (Which is fine. I'm sure he's gotten plenty of people who just want him to "take one more" for infinity.) read more

We brought a roll of film here to be developed after seeing the excellent reviews. We had recently gotten back into shooting manual film, so wanted to double check that the film was rolled properly before opening the camera -- not to mention this being an especially special roll of film used for my 30th birthday. The lady looked at the camera, played with the buttons a little and said "this should be OK," and proceeded to opening the back of the camera in the lit store-front, which resulted in exposing the majority of the photos. If there was uncertainty around this, then you should not have opened the camera in the lit store-front -- especially as there is a dark/darker room on site. I understand this was not intentional, but am really disappointed in the outcome of the photos (a couple attached), and the lack of caution taken for this task. I'd say if you are probably safe if just dropping off a roll of film to develop, but be cautious with other more specific tasks/requests. read more

Ok, so here's the deal: I read a bunch of Yelp reviews (duh), and wanted to see if this place was actually good. I had a few disposable cameras I needed developed. The price for doing so with doubles (20 bucks) was very fair, and they came out well. The staff was super helpful in suggesting I print them matte rather than glossy (didn't even know it was an option), and they patiently answered all of my other random questions. They did not rush me, they gave me guidance on a few other things, and the owner is very nice. I recommend supporting this profession family-run store. read more

Neal and his wife are the best. After coming to Bleeker Digital Solutions for four years, I can definitively say that this is THE spot for all film and photo needs. I've processed over two dozen rolls of 35mm film (Contax T3), created negative enlargements for framing, and printed passport photos at this location over the years. Everytime the photos come out beautifully: matte, no border, and with high DPI scans (my classic recipe), and *always* on time. The relationship you have with the person who develops your film is a lot like the relationship you have with the person who cuts your hair. It's a collaborative experience and once you find the right person, it's hard to go elsewhere. I've been shooting film for the past 5 years and I've lived and have had my film developed in many different cities, and I just haven't found the level of attention to detail and precision that they have anywhere else. I've never been disappointed. I've tried 10+ places in New York and there is a reason why I stick to Bleeker Digital. They develop quickly (it's all in-house) and they also upload to Dropbox/WeTransfer which is shadily really convenient. They're easy to talk to if you are trying out a new film stock and are looking for some guidance on what type of exposure levels that particular stock likes. Everyone really knows what they're talking about especially the owner. You could maybe save a dollar or two and go somewhere else, but I feel like if you're already spending the money on shooting film you might as well get it done correctly. It's impossible to redevelop a roll of film. So if a developer messes up the process, you're screwed. I've probably had over 300 rolls developed here and I've never had an issue. Slide/negative, bw/color, 35/120. It's always on point. Some other developers don't also sell actual film in store (which I think is stupid). Off the top of my head I know they carry 120mm: Potra 160, 400 and 800. Acros 100. Fuji Pro400h, TMAX 400, Ektar 100, Provia 100, Velvia 100, and a range of Ilford including Deleta 3200 35mm: All of the above + Superia and a handful of cheaper Kodak/Fuji stocks I can't remember names of. Plus Polaroid stuff (not familiar w/ names), camera batteries, and disposable cameras Whether I'm shooting 35 or 120mm film, I'll always go here. I'd recommend them over and over again. read more

They know what they're doing here but I found the setup/lighting a bit awkward (you're sitting right by the entrance so as people enter/exit, they're forced to go by you). I've lived in the nolita neighborhood for a year now and found Bleecker solutions about 8 months ago and have been using them to get my disposable cameras developed ever since and I am SOO happy to have found them. I used to go to eliz digital in chinatown to get my 35mm film processed bc it was really cheap and they send you your scans same day. But after a really disappointing batch of scans I took my negatives to be re-scanned by bleeker digital and I've been going there ever since. The top photo is eliz, the bottom is bleeker. It does take a few more days to get your scans, but it's bc they're meticulous with each scan and use superior methods and equipment. They drum scan, which involves wet mounting the negatives to a glass cylinder with an oil solution, and spinning it at 2000rpm. This method gets more detail in the scans than a flatbed scanner, even at the same resolution. The oil solution can also fill in minor imperfections in the film so that they're not visible in the scans. I like knowing that a person is there looking at each frame and making sure the color balance is right, instead of a computer. At eliz I had to deal with bad scans and scratched negatives. I never have to worry about that with bleeker. read more
