1st time visit to Blenbed flavors this afternoon & they did not disappoint. No wait came in & was seated. I enjoyed the live dj with a good mix of R&b I was vibing in my seat. I ordered the bang bang chicken appetizer & my entree of catfish, plantains, rice & Rasta pasta. Everything was delish & they even accommodated my request for no onions & peppers & it was delicious. This place is a HIDDEN GEM! The atmosphere was relaxing with a great play list of old school R&B that was playing at a moderate level in the background. Our waitress Jovanna. I visited this place based upon the reviews I saw on social media.. It's a chill atmosphere to go after work during the week. The waitress was nice but there is a wait for the food. I ordered different items in the menu instead of a meal.. I ordered the catfish sandwich, which was fresh and delicious. It was cooked to perfection.. I also had the honey butter cornbread, which I have mixed feelings about because it wasn't what I thought it would be.. it came out hot but the cornbread tasted like box cornbread..Idk, it tasted ok.. The service was ok, it could've been better, it just seems as if she was in a rush. I ordered a passion fruit mojito which happens to be one of my favorite drink and flavor, it was very bland not flavorful at all. Most of the food that was brought out was warm to cold. I had to send the turkeys back for them to be heated up due to them being cold, they also were under cooked very rubbery. The greens, Mac & cheese , jerk street corn, whiting fish and the jerk chicken & shrimp egg rolls where good. The potato salad might as well have been a dessert it was very sweet. There were 10 of us for dinner and the 2 school aged children did not receive their meals until we reminded the server. We were sat next to another couple although I probably could have used a little more distance since it was only 2 other parties there at that time. Unfortunately when the server brought our food, she took it to the table next to us instead of our table when we noticed it, she said that they wrote the wrong table # but she took our order so not too sure about that one. Lol I ordered the smothered turkey wings with Mac and cheese and rice and beans. My mom ordered chicken wings with a jerk sauce on the side, plantains, and collard greens. We both got the sweet tea. I tasted a little of mine as well as my mom's. It was very good, although I think the turkey wings could have been cooked just a bit longer. They had different sauces but the one my mom had was more sweet than spicy. I did order a side of greens to go. I took a large amount of my food home. I can honestly say I really enjoy blended flavors. My true rating would be a 3.5 based off my last experience, as I've been many times. The menu is comprehensive, anyone you're with can find something. The bar options are fun and they also offer mocktails. Something that I really love about this place is that it provides a very easy going and casual atmosphere while still being totally chic. I would normally rate this place a 4 but the last time I went the atmosphere was different. It seems they hired new management over the waitstaff and she gave orders throughout my entire dining experience. Even when she wasn't directly next to my table I still heard her giving orders or critiquing waitstaff. This, I felt put a damper in my experience and made me feel like I was a part of the staff because I constantly heard the staffs orders. I do hope this changes. I was super hungry and been meaning to try this restaurant. I have never been big on rasta pasta but I wanted to try theirs. I called in my order of shrimp rasta pasta and an uptown. When I arrived about 30 minutes later I was able to find parking on the street nearby. I walked in and the lady that took my order asked my name. My food was ready and it came in total to a little over $18. I paid and left. When I got home I dug in. The pasta was very good with a little kick. The shrimp was seasoned so good but the only downfall was they were very stingy with the shrimp. They only gave about 4 to 5 pieces for the entire pasta which sucked. The meal was super creamy so I didn't eat it all because I don't do too much cheesy, creamy things. The uptown was very good. All in all I had a pretty decent experience. read more
