Ventured here today looking for some fresh fruits and vegetables…read more Was happy with the selection for today. Picked up some yummy fruits and veggies. Was excited to see seeded watermelons and seeded grapes! We also grabbed some jelly's and apple butter. The Apple Butter took me back to Sunday mornings breakfast at Grandmas. The bakery side had a variety of yummy treats from doughnuts, pies, cookies and cakes. Definitely grabbed a few for later. The Apple Pie ice cream my hunnie ordered was delicious. Tasted just like Apple Pie. Looking forward to our next adventure here already.

I visited the nursery section only and the variety was impressive. I found most of what I was…read morelooking for which was a win. However the service was very hit or miss. The woman who checked us out was an absolute delight, warm, funny, and exactly what you hope for at a local farm stand. Unfortunately my experience in the herb section was the opposite. When I asked about strawberry plants and was told they didn't have any, I mentioned I was a first time gardener and asked if she could recommend something beginner friendly. Her response was essentially "just pick something, all you have to do is water them." When I explained again that I was new and looking for guidance, she told me she couldn't help me. As a first time gardener trying to learn, that kind of dismissiveness was discouraging. If it weren't for the lovely woman at checkout, I likely wouldn't return. I ended up going to Ed's Plant World in Brandywine where the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful to a beginner. The difference was night and day. That said, I'm giving 4 stars because the place is really awesome in terms of selection and variety. The woman in the herb section may have just been having a bad day. It's absolutely worth checking out.

Have you heard the buzz yet? Just south of Garrisonville…read moreroad in Stafford Virginia is a little bridge which transports you instantly from the city to the country. Like a portal to Narnia this little rail-less concrete bridge runs over a beautiful creek and connects two different worlds. We arrived at the Honeycomb Heroes cottage shop. It was a cute "sometimes cottage core" "sometimes hunting retreat" one room honey and associated product boutique shop. We rang the "Ring" doorbell to summon our "Honey Guide". He quickly retrieved our honey selection from a temperature controlled setting. (It was still warm). Don't be fooled by this rustic feel the transaction was professional, quick and conveniently they are equip to take an array of payment options. We paid cash though. With over 900 hives on site this is a great place to find VA local collected honey. We happily took our locally collected honey home to sweeten our tea and calm our Virginia allergies. The product is delicious and the price was the going rate. Highly recommend.

Thank you for the awesome lotion Honeycomb Heroes! Too many lotions and creams end up being given away because they don't cut it-- and yours is certainly a favorite! It also fits nicely in my handbag.

Sometimes I could use a 1/2 star rating. I'd give this a 3.5/5 instead of 3/5…read more We arrived for an October morning full of all things fall. It's a good thing we decided to get there when they open because when we left around 1130, the line was very, very long! We got in line for donuts. They were pretty ready. I was put off by a female employee who was smoking while working. She lit it up after walking out of a door nearby. She had the cigarette in the palm of her hand holding it with her pointer finger and thumb. That was not cool in my book. We waited in line for a wagon to take us to the pumpkin field. We waited not too long for that. While waiting so walked into the nursery area to look at all the flowers... mostly mums. Pricing was fairly reasonable. We finally got on the wagon. It was actually a pretty good ride to the field. We were dropped off and have free reign of the field. We could stay as long as we would like. Then we take a wagon back when we were ready. There was some confusion or lack of communication on how picking and paying for pumpkins went. We thought we would pay by weight and not the whole, "pay a set rate for as many as you can hold while taking 3 steps." A staff member was very kind to us when we returned. We were about to go back out and get more pumpkins to make it worth our trip. There was also confusion on entering the kids play area. We had tickets online, but did not realize we needed to go I see the gift shop to get the wrist bands. The ground in that area where the inflatables were, was really hard in the feet if you took your shoes off in order to play on/in the inflatables. We ended up telling our kids to keep their shoes in to avoid an injury's. For us, this was a one and done.

Rude staff and overpriced, nothing more needs to be said. I've been a couple of times and things…read morehave just become continuously worse.
