I rarely write reviews, but felt the need to. I ate here yesterday and got the beef steak lunch taco. I cannot pinpoint it for sure, but I ended up with a touch of food poisoning last night, thankfully it was mild and I'm better this morning. I want to reiterate, I'm not saying for sure that this place is where it came from, but I didn't eat much more yesterday, other than some Cheetos and strawberry milk. For several years, I'd drive past and always wondered about it. I finally got to check it out and wasn't too impressed. Ate here with my dad and uncle. I got the soft shell crab and bacon wrapped mussels. They got the salmon with the baked potato. They liked the salmon and thought it was pretty good. They enjoyed the rice that came with it. I got a taste, and it was quite good! I'd say the sauces that came with my meal made all the difference. While the food left a little to be desired, the service made up for it. Embarking on my "ONLY FIRSTS IN 2024" journey I found myself at Bleu Oyster Bar and Seafood, a spot that had caught my eye back in 2018 upon moving to Texas yet had never visited. So it took almost six years for me to finally step inside. Upon entry, the cozy interior defied the grand exterior, creating an unexpectedly intimate ambiance that surpassed my expectations. Despite its seemingly fancy exterior, the inside felt warmly homely. Our party of 11 received a prompt and welcoming reception, even without a reservation. Grant, our exceptional server, elevated the dining experience with professionalism, attentiveness, and a genuine smile. He seamlessly anticipated our needs, offering valuable menu insights and accommodating all our requests. Grant's efficiency and personable approach contributed to a flawless dining experience, striking the perfect balance between presence and allowing us to savor our meal. Though one in our group wasn't a fan of the hamburger (an adventurous choice at a seafood restaurant), the diverse menu pleased the majority. Personally, I opted for Devils on Horseback, dirty rice, fried pickles, and onion rings--perhaps unconventional for a seafood spot, but they proved to be delightful choices. The Fried Pickles, Onion Rings, and Dirty Rice were exceptional, though the jury is still out on the Bleu Sauce accompanying the perfectly cooked Bacon-wrapped Scallops (Devils on Horseback). We use to love going here when Bruce owned it. Now with the new owners it looks neglected. The fountain is the first thing you see when you walk in. It is now partially working with hard water build up around the frame. We had to look at unbussed tables and a bucket on the floor to catch water dripping from the ceiling. My shrimp was overcooked and my husbands fish was undercooked. The waiter was great and attentive. Seems like the new owner isn't around and/or doesn't care. We won't be back read more

This is my favorite crawfish ever. They are rarely overcooked and the bleu Cajun sauce is my favorite. It's not the typical drier spice that is on crawfish other places. That being said, I've been coming here for four years now. I went there tonight for crawfish and I learned that Bruce has sold months ago. This made me so sad as he was so friendly and really good to his customers! today the patio chairs were in pretty bad shape. My server was really nice, but it took a long time to get my crawfish. They really have limited staff these days. The crawfish itself was juicy, and I had some really nice sized ones in my bowl. I did find about 8 to 10 tiny ones that were mushy. Also, the sauce is just not the same. I will say it's still really good and I will return, But it's just not the same as when Bruce was here. read more

Great seafood restaurant in NW Houston! It's a relaxed vibe and the service is friendly. If you're looking for a down-to-earth place and enjoy seafood, you have to give Bleu a shot. We tried the shrimp, frog legs, bacon wrapped scallops, and chicken wings. Everything was delicious & all of our drinks were made-to-order and tasted great. In my opinion, this is quite possibly as good of a seafood spot you'll be able to find in the Champions Forrest area and possibly all of the Spring/Klein area. Nestled away right across the street of the subdivision Gleannloch Farms, this local seafood spot hit all the marks. The service, the quality of the seafood, and the atmosphere. Towards the end the chef even came out and thanked us for coming in, and told us a bit of his story's it's really awesome and Inspiring to hear true passion in the restaurant world especially during a pandemic. 1st time here, Kim the server is the only person here for F.O.H., we were here as soon as she opened. She has us at the bar, 2 two tops a party of 8 that arrived who wants to sit outside. No "stone crab claws, no crawfish, no poor boys are even on the menu....heck should of gone to BLUEWATER SEAFOOD on 1960...they have crawfish . If I could give this place a zero I would. The manager called my daughter yesterday to set up an interview for today at noon. My daughter eagerly gets there at 11:45am just to find that the restaurant is closed. She attempts to call the restaurant, but no one answers. Place states it opens at noon yet the phone rang off the hook till we stopped trying at 12:10pm. We go around the back and one of the cooks answers the back door. Proceeds to say how no one is there due to "a night of heavy drinking" but that "the guy" should show up any minute. It is now 12:15pm and the restaurant is supposed to open at noon. The "guy" who appeared to be a bartender or waiter finally arrives and calls the manager. Tells me he can't get a hold of her but provided me with her number. She then calls him back, he answers and tells me that she said she'd be there in 15 minutes which would be around 12:30pm. My daughter and I waited until 12:55pm and the manager never showed up. The manager never called and apologized for being late or explain to her as to why she set up an interview at noon and have her wait there, an hour, for nothing. She clearly didn't care about my daughters time or feelings. God only knows how she treats her staff or customers. I've heard from numerous people how this place is very unprofessional with their customers and it's disheartening how you try to give a place the benefit of doubt just to get treated like trash. I will also like to add that the phone numbers on Apple Maps and their social media platforms is incorrect. To sum it up they don't open when they state the establishment opens, they're inconsiderate of people's emotions and time, their food is crap according to close friends that have visited this establishment and now I've learned to never give a place the benefit of the doubt because you will be let down. Stopped by Wednesday, May 31 for their steak night and happy hour. I was hesitant at first since steak was $29.99 but I'm glad I didn't let the price stop me. It's a 16oz ribeye with loaded baked potatoes and asparagus but I substituted for sautéed mushrooms. I ordered my steak medium rare and it was tender, cooked perfectly and well seasoned, no A-1 or other sauces needed. We also ordered their Bleu crawfish flavor to try, they were $7.99/lb and wow so happy we did! The flavor was exploding in our mouth! Now the disappointment were with the happy hour drinks-Moscow mule and Cosmo were very weak and taste were not good. Not part of happy hour that we're also disappointing were Old Fashioned and French Martini. Our waiter however was very nice and attentive and overall it was a nice evening. read more

My order here was 1 dozen of grilled oysters 1/2 Rockefeller and half chargrilled 1/2 dozen of Texas gulf raw oysters Avocado Volcano (appetizer) 12 wings (4 Buffalo 4 lemon pepper and 4 bleu sauce) Grilled Seafood Platter And the Wednesday steak special (16oz ribeye) So the grilled oysters here were soooo good both Rockefeller and Chargrilled I would totally recommend that you try both kinds of you like grilled oysters I would rate this 5 out of 5 The Texas gulf oysters I didn't try but they did look really fresh and he said it was good! The Avocado Volcano was a different twist on quest and chips but it was sooo good! I would give this 5 out of 5 The Wings here are 75 cents per wing on Wednesday but 75 cents was not worth it I didn't like the fact that even though it was fried the smell of the chicken when you take a bite was kinda like a fishy chicken smell and the flavoring was not so great overall I would give it a 1 out of 5 If you want wings don't order wings here not recommended On Wednesday they have a steak special where you can choose from a 16 ox ribeye or 8 oz filet. For $19.99 (it's a good deal) Also ordered the grilled seafood platter very well seasoned and was good even as leftovers. I always wanted to try them since it's next to my eyelash place and finally I went there! Staff was really nice friendly it was Saturday evening pretty busy but they followed social distance I liked that! Appetizer we got I forgot exact the name but it's avocado with shrimps fondue it was delicious I loved it! And oysters!!! I personally don't like cooked one but my girl can't eat raw so I had to get both.their oysters were fresh!! They're not fancy restaurant but oysters were really fresh im impressed! Our waitress was very polite and confident. However no amount of confidence can make up for just ok food. Calamari although hot had way too much breading and my red fish was overly dry, and finally my baked potato had way too much butter. First off, we came by on Saturday evening and they had live music that was pretty good. I liked the ambiance of the place, very relaxed and chill. It is a little cramped in there, but they make it work somehow. Our waiter was great with customer service and answering questions. I mainly came to try the crawfish, I was pretty skeptic just because it's not the main thing they are known for; however, my assumptions were wrong. I ordered the bleu cajun and boy did it have flavor! If you like extra spicy and garlicky flavoring in your crawfish then this is a must try, but be warned it is pretty spicy if you're not used to that type of food, like your nose will probably run and tongue will burn spicy. Overall, I was pretty impressed with the size of the crawfish for it being this early in the season. I think for the price, it was valued correctly. What we didn't really like 1) they got a new menu and some of the new items they were not yet serving...I was confused why they would release the menu but not have the actual items. 2) I asked for lemons bc the crawfish doesn't come with your typical side condiments (lemon, cajun spice, mayo, or butter), and in the end they charged me for the lemons. I wouldn't have mind, had they at least gave me the heads up, but for a seafood place you would think lemons come with the food. I would come back to try other dishes. Our favorite place!! We come here at least once a week, and when family come into town, this is where they want to come too! Everything is fresh and perfect portions. We've had so many different appetizers here from the ceviche, shrimp cocktail, queso, oysters, and allll are so delicious!! Martinis are great too so def try them out for dinner. read more

There was a lot to like about this place. The waiter Haydn was very responsive and had a great attitude. Ask for him if you go. The lunch menu had a lot to choose from, grilled and fried. I often try to find places that will fit my low carb needs and this place did a great job with that. I had a lunch special with grilled catfish. It came with grilled veggies and rice. I swapped out the rice for grilled mushrooms and OMG those mushrooms were fantastical. The seasoning throughout the entire meal was very good. Me and my recent fiancé decided to try this place out. We have been looking for an oyster place that won't cost an arm & leg, and the reviews did not disappoint. This place had a really nice ambiance for a date night! And our waiter Devin, was really great! He recommended some menu items we really enjoyed. The avocado volcano was super delicious! Like eating Queso with avocado, with seafood in the mix. The underrated item was the Devils on horseback (bacon wrapped scallops with Chile oil) they were really good! We also tried the charbroiled oysters which were yummy, but we are looking forward to trying their oysters on the half shell next time! We really enjoyed ourselves and think we found our new local seafood place to eat at! Especially since it didn't break the bank, like normal seafood restaurants. read more

I visited here with a small group and was very happy after leaving. We left another place that wasn't serving raw oysters at the time, due to COVID-19. I recommended we try Bleu Oyster Bar, and so we drove over here from the Willowbrook area. We ordered several raw oysters, ceviche, wings, crawfish, and a mixed grill combo. Although they only had 2 of the 5 non-Texas oysters (Blue Point and Brittany Bay), they were still delicious and clean. Oysters come with all the usual accompaniments. The ceviche was really good too, similar to Sito's ceviche but with different fish and not as limey. The crawfish were a good size, several sea monsters in the batch and tasted better than I expected. The mixed grill was just average. I didn't try any of the wings. Service was great, although the wait was sort of long to be seated, and long for the food to arrive, even though they weren't very busy. read more

I found Bleu by scrolling on Yelp. Saw a lot of the 5 star reviews and we decided to try it since we were in that area and I was craving crawfish! Let me preface by saying, I am from New Orleans so I am very critical of seafood / New Orleans style restaurants. Cute place inside but we ate outside because it was a beautiful day. I had a pound of crawfish. They were a little small but that is to be expected right now. But they also did not really have much flavor either. Unless you dip them in the sauce you get. Overall they were good and satisfied my craving. Boudin Balls - those were yummy but watch out for the remoulade - it's spicy! But yummy! Shrimp Etouffee - That was the BEST! I have never had it made that way with like a creamier sauce - but it was AMAZING!! I've always had and made it with a darker roux. We will be back to try more! What a great place! The oysters on the half shell were very tasty. The oysters were fresh and did not have any order or funky taste. The waiter we had, was very helpful and patient. The overall vibe inside was nice. Not too loud, they have TVs for sport watchers and a full bar. They have outdoor seating which is nice on a cool night. Overall I would recommend and come back for oysters any day. BE AWARE! Supposedly, they have not been able to adjust their prices on their website due to not being able to login? But the oysters Rockefeller were 8 more dollars then advertised. The waiter just said they just stopped trying to change it? Also apologized for not mentioning it after I paid, but that's not his fault. Well, I love oysters and was ready. I'll start by saying the web menu and restaurant menu pricing are not the same. That wasn't a problem. The completely watered down,, tasteless margarita was not the problem the food however was a hot mess as was the waitress who saw this wasn't at all what I was expecting and did not offer a replacement dish, after me telling her I didn't want it. The charboiled, waaaaay overcooked oysters were sitting in a puddle of WATER, not butter, water and they were so small I let them keep them for someone else. Obviously they are having problems. Everyone looked to be in young twenties with no customer service knowledge between any of them. I had to wave her down from chatting with co worker a few times. It deserves 0. They should be shame.
