Although I know it is out of season, I ordered some crawfish (frozen) yesterday. I was disappointed with all the pieces of crawfish I got instead of whole crawfish. Excellent food! We were on a quest to find a fried oyster poboy for my spouse when I stumbled on this option from the web. Loaded with oysters on a delicious crispy but light bread and rich proper mayonnaise. Not traditional, but better. The rest of us enjoyed boiled crawfish, popcorn shrimp, and gumbo. The gumbo had a spice to it and, again, not traditional but better. Yum! We have our new spot and enjoyed talking with the owner, Lucky. HANGING WITH THE SISTERS 07/15/2023 Recently, I visited this establishment on a lunch outing with my oldest and youngest sisters. I'm the middle sister of course. The three of us had an amazing time as we talked and talked for hours while enjoying the delicious and flavorful cuisine provided by this establishment. This was my first visit and my youngest sister's idea to come here. Firstly, I arrived on the scene about an hour ahead of my sisters because they were still at the nail salon getting beautified and pampered. When I entered the doors, I was not greeted by anyone. I found this to be a bit odd seeing that there were three female workers behind the counter moving around. As I approached the counter I still wasn't greeted by anyone. One of them walked right past me as I said, "Excuse me miss," repeatedly. However, she continued to strut her little self right past me as if she did not hear me, lol. Okay cool. No problem. I will try to speak to another worker. Fortunately, the other worker, whose name that I forgot, finally acknowledged my presence. I told her that it was my first time visiting their establishment and if she could explain the ordering process because I wasn't sure if I was supposed to have a seat and someone would come over to take my order or if I should walk up to the counter and order and then have a seat. Well, she explained that when you walk in, you place your order at the counter with them, then you find a seat, and next someone will bring your order out to you. She also informed me that I could open a tab or just pay my bill. Since I was going to be waiting for an hour or so for my sisters to arrive, I decided to open a tab. I ordered plain wings and fries with lemon pepper sauce on the side and a frozen Watermelon Lemon Margarita. The wings and fries were piping hot, fresh, and delicious! I was shocked by how good it all tasted. The fries were seasoned but not overly seasoned which is something I can appreciate. The Margarita wasn't the best I've ever had but the flavor was good. It wasn't strong at all and I could barely taste the liquor. I just don't understand why these establishments charge so much money for a glass of flavorful ice with a pinch of liquor as if they're fooling people. Unfortunately, I did not order another Margarita because it wasn't worthy. Secondly, after my sisters arrived we all made our way to the counter to place our orders. I ordered fried catfish, fried oysters, and fried shrimp, with a side of shrimp fried rice. My oldest sister ordered fried fish and shrimp with fries and coleslaw. My youngest sister ordered fried catfish and shrimp with shrimp fried rice. We all enjoyed our food across the table. I ate so much that I hurt myself. Yes I committed a sin! Just call me Gluttony! The shrimp fried rice was full of flavorful deliciousness! The fried fish, shrimp, and oysters all tasted flavorful and not too salty. The only complaint I have is that the batter falls completely apart whenever you take a bite, which is kind of annoying. This could be a result of the seafood being cooked too fast. Although it was fully cooked, it seems like they are frying it too hard and fast which is why the batter is not sticking. My oldest sister loves coleslaw and said that theirs isn't the best. She said it was just okay, but edible. In her humble opinion, Pappas BBQ here in Texas, has the best coleslaw that she has ever eaten, and no other food vendor has come close to even competing with it. Overall, we had a great time eating and enjoying one another's company. Although customer service didn't start off too great, it ended up being a hit in the end. Luckily for them, they got it together, because I tip according to how well you serve and treat me as a paying customer. The restaurant is very spacious which is great for families and friends to gather. Although the building seems to be outdated, the dining area was clean and presented in an immaculate and spotless state. I did not witness food crumbs underneath the tables or in the chairs. Kudos to them for that. Cleanliness is everything to me, because CLEANLINESS IS NEXT TO GODLINESS! I can definitely see myself in the future making another trip to the Spring area to patronize this business again, especially for their shrimp fried rice alone, which was a big HIT in my opinion! I highly recommend it, if you can get past the unprofessional staff working behind the counter that do not greet or welcome their customers. I just don't get how they have this delicious food at this establishment but very poor customer service skills, lol. Okay I'm done! read more

I ordered some spicy garlic edamame which usually should be a appetizer , and when I asked where it was the lady said it's still being worked on. Asked again 10 minutes later, same story. Had To support the local so decide to check out drunken oyster for their crawfish. This place not only has good food but the owner and workers are very nice. I remember my first time here and the owner or who I think is the owner started a small conversation with me. Just sharing how things are during this crazy time. I always think a owner striking conversations with the customers is a sign of good hospitality. Definitely a good way to build relationships. Since the whole covid started we probably have order for pick at least 6-7 times form here. Butter garlic crawfish is tasty for what you can find on this side of town. They were $13 a pound but the special was 2 pounds for $19.99. You would think she would've rang up the special but OHHH NOOO!!! My review will not do enough justice on how delicious this place is. I come here about once a month and they never disappoint. Drunken Oyster is hidden in a shopping strip, not much advertisement next to a laundromat and a trophies store, easiest way to know if you are in the right place is the outdoor seating. Their style of cuisine is Viet-Cajun which is my favorite type of seafood. The place is large and perfect for social distancing, also surrounded by large TVs throughout the restaurant, making it the perfect place to watch the 'stros play, drink a Michelada and good seafood. The owner is always there, he is on top of it and has been having the same staff for awhile, which says a lot about the business: Ethical. I am always greeted and treated well. My favorites are anywhere from their gumbo, fried shrimp with rice, and crawfish but my ultimate favorite dishes will always be their snow crab legs and boiled shrimp. The garlic butter crab legs are always cooked to perfection with the perfect amount of seasoning, the same goes to the shrimp, potato and corn. The staff always provides me with the necessary utensils since it tends to get very messy cracking those snow crab legs. This meal only gets better when you add a Dos XX michelada which is also nice and spicy...MMMmm!! The price is very reasonable for the amount of food, their prices rarely ever change since some of their items are market priced. Typically I am full with one pound of snow crab legs and a pound of shrimp to eat, but if you can fit their fried shrimp (which I promise you it tastes better than it looks) and their shrimp fried rice, I say go ahead and order it or share it with a friend.
