Always clean and inviting and the teachers are all very friendly! Pure Barre is a low impact, full body workout that uses movements with a small range of motion to effectively tone the body. I have seen such a difference in my strength since taking pure barre. Especially in my abs! I love starting my day with Pure Barre. Their positive environment leaves me feeling accomplished and ready to take on the day!

The equipment in the gym is plentiful, although I never did find kettle bells, even though I was told they were there somewhere. Childcare is cool. They have a big play structure in the room that my boys loved. I would give this gym a higher rating if they had a way for me to connect to the audio on the TVs rather than resorting to closed captioning. I guess I'm spoiled at my home gym.

The only time when I've felt welcomed at this location is when there is African American staff on the weekend! In addition, if you want to stay drama free don't enroll in the after school YMCA program through Paragon. My son was bullied at this program where other YMCA students would inform me during pick up that my son was getting bullied although their staff avoided communicating this to me. When I asked them what was done about this bullying situation, they informed NOTHING, they would write it down in their book for logging. They threatened to disconnect my needed services because of an error on their end without even communicating with me. Also, after all services were cancelled by me the following school year they proceeded to send me an obscene invoice and charge my card unwilling that I needed to fight to get removed, instead of being a professional company and admitting that they dropped the ball again, made me jump through hoops and was rude in the way they communicated this to me. For professionalism, avoid this location! YMCA overall is a great program, just not this location or the people! Last year is when this changed. They had a completely different program prior and it was run by great staff that communicated and were highly professional. Sam used to engage with the kids and parents. Now that it's run by this new team, they have poor communication skills, act irresponsible, and lack the professionalism I require in a childcare environment. Do yourself a favor and avoid.

I informed them of this and asked what would happen regarding my membership. It was told to me this wasn't uncommon, it would be ok to pause the membership and to speak with the owner. My last class was the week of Christmas and the owner wasn't there. When I returned to class and spoke with the owner she said she couldn't allow people to stop coming to class, start back up when they felt like it, and expecting to still have their membership. Throughout the conversation I explained to her several times that I didn't just stop coming, I had surgery and couldn't attend. By this time other people were there and able to hear the conversation. Because of this, I suggested we discuss it further after class. She then said I should have informed them that I would be having surgery and the best she could do was to give me 7 days. I explained to her that I had informed them ahead of time and was told it wouldn't be an issue pausing membership until I was able return. It was at that time that she said she needed to start class. It was an embarrassing experience and very unprofessional. I found a place closer to home less expensive for the amount of classes, and more welcoming.

The atmosphere here is so welcoming, and all the instructors are extremely helpful and always available to answer any questions I have regarding the exercises we are doing. It's great to be able to take a large variety of "specialized" fitness classes like pilates, barre, and HIIT and circuit training at a location that doesn't lock you into a pricey membership and lets you pay per class or via packages as you go! I've been so much more motivated to work out since I've started attending class here, and the special fitness challenge events, workshop classes, and meal prep events have helped me a lot outside the gym too.

I was new to her class that day, but I've taken Step classes at other gyms for years. She is very intense and after noticing that I made a few mistakes on her steps only 15 minutes into the class, she walked over, told me "STOP STOP STOP", and ripped the risers out from under me. I was so offended. If you want new clients to continue taking your classes, you need to ENCOURAGE them at the level that THEY believe is right for them. You as the instructor do not determine that. She was constantly shouting and gave ZERO alternative steps for beginners. You either picked it up or she kept yelling. It was a great workout because she was so intense and that's why I rated the class two stars, but if you are a beginner, you will feel so discouraged with her. I recommend taking someone else's class.

I'd seen this Snap Fitness facility down the road from me, and I knew they were open 24 hours (I work weird hours and have two small children), so I thought I'd check it out. In short, I loved it! The facility is clean, it's always open, and it has everything I need. It's pretty barebones -- there's no smoothie bar, no sauna, no child care, etc. -- but it has several high-quality treadmills, ellipticals and other cardio machines, as well as an assortment of weight machines and free weights. The gym is only staffed a few hours a week; you always use a key card to get in. I was a little concerned about security when I joined, as my husband was worried about me working out late at night with no employees around. However, there are cameras all over, as well as a panic button, and I always have my phone with me. I've never felt the slightest bit uncomfortable, though. I also love that you can get a month-to-month membership for just $35. I'm not sure if I'm going to want to use the gym during summer, so it's nice to know that I don't have to pay for 12 months if I'm not going to use them.
