Today i just wanted to go back to my childhood when my granny and aunt use to take me with them to the Blimpie Base after a day of shopping. This particular location has been there for decades and nothing has changed. There is a smell that Blimpie bases have. They are still making a really delicious sandwich the way i remember! Meat and bread was so fresh and they dont skimp on the meat!! They give u are pretty hardy sandwich!! Staff at this location and very pleasant and they move fast! I've been ordering from this location for years. When I moved to Bergen County and tried other Blimpies I was disappointed to find out they are not all the same. This location is hands down the best. I've never had an issue with customer service. I almost always order for take out but I've eaten inside a handful of times. There are a few tables it's very basic but clean. This Blimpie location is one of my top musts when I visit Hudson County. read more

It's tough to review Blimpie's because SOME stores are COMPANY owned & SOME are franchises. SOME franchises are EXCELLENT & SOME are HORRIBLY RUN. Don't order from this Blimpee's. They charge extra for everything, delivery and can't even get the order correct. We called and they didn't care what we had to say. It's unfortunate because we order from that location quite a bit for lunch and pretty big orders. Needless to say, today is the last time we're ordering from them. Where do I begin. Omg. Horrible horrible service at this jersey city central ave location. I'm been coming to this location for years when I lived in jersey city heights. Well no more. Tall Spanish guy with a red shirt was rude as hell. I called asking the closing time, I was advised they close at 8. Last Delivery is 7:30 pm. If picking up have to order by 7:30 & pickup by 8. I get there at 7:04 pm on a Saturday to order my food proceed to open the door, that rude ass Spanish kid or guy push the door on me and say where closed but it's only 7:04 pm. . Not good. Not sure who owns this establishment, but not good. Need to do better with who you hire to work for you & represent your business. . This is was my first time eating at Blimpie and it actually inspired my first post on yelp! Ordered the Blimpie Best, for that I give 5 stars. It had a excellent taste, especially for it being a basic sandwich. Reason for the 4 stars is because the lady that started our order, began making it, then the phone rang and with her gloves on answer phone then walks away. Didn't tell any other worker what we ordered or anything. Other worker came up, picked up immediately where she left off, thankfully you could tell that she had been working there for a while because she knew what I had ordered just by the meat. She seemed really upset that the other lady just walked off. All the workers seemed nice, but since I dined in I noticed a lot of them didn't take there gloves off after touching the food, would answer the phone, and go back to making sandwiches. A pretty decent option if it is hot out and I don't feel like grilling or wife doesn't want to cook (or, I don't want to heat the house up by her cooking). Yes, they can be kind of expensive, but, they are huge sandwiches, enough for leftovers the next day. My favorite sandwich is the Blimpie Best on whole wheat with everything. Though they tell you delivery time is 45 minutes we have never had to wait that long. Not as good as Jersey Mike's, but a pretty decent option in Jersey City Heights. This Blimpies needs MAJOR work. Let me start off by saying the older women there with glasses and bangs, brown hair. Super super rude. She huffed and puffed when we were asking for a specific sandwich was like "omg " on top of that, paid no attention to toppings. They were cross contaminating in there as well. This place has been run down for 10 years now. It needs new management, renovation, everything! Employees need to have proper training for everything. Love this place. This is the only Blimpie's I would go to. The only negative thing I am sad to say is one of the employees. I have to say most of the employees are great so friendly but there is always one bad apple in the bunch. It's the reason why I gave 3 stars instead of 5. She is rude, disrespectful and frankly annoying. I say disrespectful because she laughed in my face when I said my wrap incorrectly. A little chuckle would have been fine but she laughed at me and repeated what I said to another employee. Least to say I was embarrassed and uncomfortable.
