Cash only, but don't let that stop you. Dixon Deli offers no fuss deli sandwiches which are delicious and very reasonably priced. I was being incredibly indecisive (it was clearly my first time there), and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. I ended up getting a hero with Salsalito turkey which I highly recommend; I'd never seen that type of Boar's Head before. They also have a good selection of convenience store type items available which is handy if you live in the area.

An upscale bodega that offers a great breakfast. These wonderful ladies are cracking eggs faster then an egg fight at the Golden Corral. And they are so friendly there. I have been coming here for years and I and upset I haven't written a review until now. Dixon deli has been a staple in the downtown Jersey City area for years way before the drastic change to this city. They serve breakfast and lunch and make A great breakfast sandwich or platter. I usually order the turkey bacon with eggs spinach and pepper jack cheese. With a side of avocado. It's a great start to the day but also a great lunch too. They are generous with their food and also with their prices. It's not very big and there are a few seats to sit by the window. But the food is good when you walk in you order you food in the back by the counter. There are usually people waiting to order. But the food comes our pretty quick. All the food is made to order.

When in doubt and unsure of what to eat during lunch time, I end up at Dixon Deli. Their sandwiches are delicious and super cheap! One thing I really like is that they are very customizable and you can tell them exactly what you want on your sandwich of choice. In terms of customer service, they are great! They are always nice and respectful to the customers and very upbeat! They definitely treat you like they've known you for years. Also, I recommend getting a side of fries with your sandwich, so good!

Roast Beef and cheddar sandwich - pretty solid, especially for the cost. Easy and friendly staff.

Great, convenient local/corner deli and mini bodega. Inexpensive breakfast wraps and sandwiches at lunch. Iced coffees are reasonably priced, and best part: they make the ice out of more iced coffee so your drink doesn't water down as the ice melts. Nice touch!

Pork roll egg and cheese on a roll. Fantastic!!!

This is my new go-to spot in downtown JC for breakfast sandwiches. Called ahead for a pork roll, egg and cheese on a roll and it was ready for pick-up in minutes. Tell-tale grease stains on the paper wrapping revealed a delicious 2 egg sandwich on a fresh roll, soft in the middle but crusty exterior. Nice balance between pork roll, egg, cheese and ketchup (that's right, I like ketchup on my eggs!) Did I mention the sandwich was only $4?!? Quite a bargain for downtown. Bravo!

The one with pesto, chicken cutlet, and tomato packed a ton of sharp garlic flavor in every bite, while the basic chicken parm with cheese was also delicious. Sandwiches are gargantuan--one easily feeds two hungry people. I would recommend going there if you have transportation (I did not) because they arrived a bit cold and very late on UberEats (but I don't fault the restaurant for any of that).

I ordered their Cold Sandwich #4 via Grubhub and I appreciate that their prices are the same as their website. The chicken cutlet is nicely seasoned and has a good thickness. It does get slightly overtaken by the mozzarella simply because of the size of it. The seeded semolina was soft, slightly chewy, but mostly fresh. I absolutely loved the chipotle mayo and cold crispness of the lettuce and fresh tomato that brightened each bite. I know this is a cold sandwich but I would honestly prefer it if the chicken cutlet and semolina bread was warm. They had other sandwiches that caught my eye, so I'll just have to go back soon. Good try!

If you been rocking since 1919, mi amor, I **have** to come see what's going on. That alone made me wanna pull up And let me tell you... I walked from Jersey City Heights down to downtown -- not a bad walk at all, un chin de cardio before breakfast . Real "treat yourself, mi amor" type of morning. Soon as I walked in... BABYYYY I felt like I got teleported straight into a little Italian market Shelves full of Italian goodies -- pastas, oils, snacks... I was like *yo quiero todo esto* It was giving *ciao bella, benvenuti, mangia mangia* vibes all day. The staff? Súper nice. No attitude, no rush -- just good energy. I told them it was my first time and asked what they're known for, and they really put me on No gatekeeping over here. My husband got the #7 (on a roll) I got the #8 (on a bagel) We sat outside and did what married people do... switched sandwiches halfway Now listen... mine was good -- turkey, egg, pesto... she was cute, she had flavor, estaba bien ‍ BUT HIS?! Ese sándwich estaba otro nivel. I don't know if it was the roasted peppers or what but *Dios mío*... delicioso, chef's kiss Only thing? Next time I'm switching my bagel for a roll porque ese pan estaba hitting different. The roll? Soft, fresh, perfecto. Also... let me tell you about the BACK They got frozen pastas, little Napoli-style dishes, a whole meat section that looked crazy fresh, and you can order cold sandwiches too. Esto no es solo un deli -- it's a whole Italian experience, okurrr. And yes... it's a *little* pricey, no te voy a mentir. Pero honestly? You get what you pay for. Calidad, sabor, vibes -- todo está ahí. I skipped the coffee porque estoy tratando de behave con el budget but next time? And I'm coming back for that banana pudding porque I'm obsessed no shame. They got a little patio if you wanna sit, or you can take your food to the park and have a whole picnic moment. Real main character energy. Ponte linda, grab your sandwich, and just vibe out. Walking inside feels like stepping back into New York history. It's been a Lower East Side staple since 1888, and you can absolutely feel that old-school energy the second you grab your ticket at the door. The menu is huge and packed with classic Jewish deli staples, but I definitely have my routines down. My absolute favorites are the matzoh ball soup (the matzoh balls are massive and perfectly fluffy), the crispy potato latkes, and a bowl of their comforting chicken noodle soup. When it comes to the mains, their turkey sandwich is incredibly juicy and piled sky-high. These classic sandwiches are definitely made for sharing because they are massive, but if you aren't looking to split a giant portion, they also offer half-sandwich combos and platters which are great options. Just make sure you save a little bit of room for dessert before you leave...their black and white cookies are completely delicious and the perfect sweet finish to a massive deli meal. It's an absolute must-visit every single time I'm in the city.
