I was re-living my 90s video game memories by playing classics on the Super Nintendo emulator. Lot of classics, but super shout out to Donkey Kong Country 2, that I easily remembered after years. Anyhow, in between playing video games I went for an Eggplant Parm hero. There were some other interesting veggie choices - pasta, veggie burger, etc. - but I thought this one fit the bill. They have so many catering options on their website, and when I called they were also extremely helpful in answering questions and walking me through everything. I ordered a few 3 ft subs which were perfect for our large group. 3 Ft speciality subs are $80 and for an extra $10 they will cut the sub. They also charge a delivery fee of $25. My friend and I came here post lunchtime in need of a quick Sammy to hold us over until dinner and this did the trick. The inside decor was a lot of fun with vintage posters and 90s memorabilia around and my favorite part was the vintage video games at the tables that you could play while you're waiting for your sandwich to be made. I played super Mario world and it brought me back to my childhood, but I was also irritated because apparently I suck at video games now I posted a video of me playing super Mario party on Instagram and everybody made fun of me because I wasn't good. We ordered a turkey avocado sandwich and I appreciated that the bread roll was soft and didn't tear up the roof of my mouth like French rolls or Dutch crunch often do. Fantastic sub shop! The menu has everything you could ever want, probably more than you can even take in, so study up in advance. Subs are priced on the higher end, but you get what you pay for. Nice fresh bread, beautiful cuts of meat, and the perfect layer of condiments. They were sadly out of the Muffaletta bread, but it was fantastic either way. I topped it off with a peanut butter milkshake that was blended to perfection. The service was wonderful. And I really enjoyed the decor, movies playing, and vintage games to play. I was excited to see the great reviews for this place when I chose them to cater an office lunch. Unfortunately, this was so disappointing that the office called me days later to complain. Really really bad. The mozzarella sticks are the texture of cornbread. I think air frying is a terrible idea for these items. Chicken tenders were burnt and nasty. Fries were soft. Onion rings (there were two actually....) were burnt. Fried ravioli is nasty. I threw the whole thing away. Muffuletta Man - this bread is so damn hard to chew. My jaw actually started clicking. What a fun place to eat. After a long day at Comic Con NY we ate here to keep the theme of the day. Super heroes, star wars, goonies on the walls, video games in the back and nostalgia everywhere. I wish our orders came with some french fries but you have to make a separate order for the "air fryed" french fries. And they were YUMMYYYY!! All sandwiches were served in a metal old skool lunch box, nice touch. Staff was super nice and accommodating. Our waitress put a candle in a shake for the birthday boy and joined in on the birthday song. She took group pictures and made suggestions photo ops. That Woman was a Wonder! Most of the restaurant was closed off, but we lucked out with being able to sit down at one of the tables on the side. Loved the decor, the movies that were playing (along with the complimentary popcorn!), music, and unique menu item names. It was my first time here so I went with the American hero, which is a classic and one that can easily compare to other places. The bread was really great, the food was very good as well. Upon entry you enter through a make shift phone booth which was cool. It opens up to a ton of cool movie and tv show posters. The place has some old school video games inside as well. The menu is in a binder and that is even decorated with old school movies and show posters. They have so many sandwich combinations that it's hard to decide. Don't judge (I'm watching my carbs) so I went for the "You Bet Your Antipasto" salad which is a really good antipasto salad. If you're an 80's kid - this place is like a giant nostalgia milkshake. We (hubby and three kids) walked in to see Eureka's Castle playing on the big screen. The walls are plastered with posters for old 80s and 90s movies and lines with VHS tapes. Along the back wall are tables you can eat at while playing throwback video games. Menus sit inside retro binders and feature items like Buffy the Chicken Slayer. My kids loved this place - from the free buttery popcorn to the games to the kids menu which included a gigantic ice cream sundae at the end with each meal. The sandwiches are awesome.
