Live jazz musicians are hosted every night of the week, often with multiple sets, featuring a mix of local musicians, rotating house bands, and visiting musicians. Because of the tight space, you are always close to the stage. Tonight's headliner was the Concept Orchestra. Cover tonight was $7. Cocktails range $14-16. This is gonna be located on the fifth floor in the JW Marriott. You have to walk through the pool area as this is on the west side of the building. Well, we didn't have a reservation and we were able to get sat right away. I forget the name of the individual who assisted us by placing our order. I ended up getting the espresso martini, and then my other person got an old-fashioned. I was asked if I wanted a shot of Bailey's with the espresso martini and that to me would've been way too much. The martini itself was almost kind of smoky. Not your typical kind of very crisp espresso martini had a nice foam on top of it. We also ended up ordering the sliders to go along as we had dinner reservations, and that bacon jam on there is magnificent. The sliders were all juicy and very well put together bun was very soft and the flavor of everything was really good. I would totally go back just for the sliders. Overall the service was great. The views were also quite stunning of downtown and the ambience overall which is very chill. The front part of the bar was actually closed due to a private event so I can imagine getting to take photos on that corner would be really pretty to see.

I enjoyed my drink as well (5th Floor Cooldown) once we added the extra sweetener we requested. Without it, I wasn't a huge fan (wasn't sweet, despite being told that it was). Valet parking is only $15 (for 2 hours) with validation. I appreciated that, as it made parking not a headache.

As we got to the bar, we met the disaster of the bartender woman with glasses. She looked at all of us weirdly and was overall very aloof. I asked a few questions about the drinks and she rudely responded with one word answers. I ordered the martini and she gave me a weird look and then made it, very antagonistically. I didn't tip her. There was no service involved (she just mixed the drink and handed it to me) and we were to sit at the booth. She then interrogated my two friends about it, angrily asking why I wouldn't tip and saying odd personal information of how she makes $10 an hour only. I understand that, and I always tip at restaurants when the waiter or waitress serves me at the table, but when I'm just picking up an item, I don't tip out of principle (why should I)? It made the entire evening really weird and uncomfortable. I wouldn't recommend this place. Drinks are overpriced ($10.75 for the old-fashioned = whisky + ice?!) The music is great but there are plenty of other places with fantastic live music in Austin, don't bother with this. And the service is by far the worst I've ever encountered at a bar. It was on the rooftop and thankfully during a shadier part of the day but even so we were all sweating from the fun of dancing. A guy named Carlos was the organizer. The DJ had everyone dancing most of the time but because the rooftop was so spacious there was actually space to dance and not run into/hit everyone while dancing! They had food available for $20 per plate which I shared with a friend because we weren't very hungry so it was a perfect amount of food to share. I tried their ranch water with tajin. We were also lucky to find a street spot not too far from the venue. I look forward to going back again for another rooftop dance party!
