We were in town and looking for a good place to eat and excited to try this joint, with a 4.4 star rating. We've always had good food in Madison and even though we wanted to get home after a long day, we thought it would be worth the delay. Unfortunately, this time, it wasn't worth it. I feel like it's time and money wasted. I'll get to details, but I'm mainly basing this review on the quality of the food I received. Before getting to the food, our service was great. Our server was a bit slow considering there were only 3 tables (including us) occupied. Or it's more of a relaxed atmosphere, so she was just giving us a lot of time to look over the menu. But aside from that, she was friendly, helpful, and kind. Atmosphere is on the dark side. There are two screens to play games (golf, etc) on two corners of the building. I think there are plenty of options, but we were mainly in for food, and didn't really get much info on the games. I did ask whether they were run on a reservation basis, and the hostess (who was also our server) said yes. She didn't mention any pricing, so I'm not sure what the details on that is. Margarita special $5 This was great. Not overly sweet, and just the right amount of booze. It came in a whiskey cup rather than a margarita one. 3sheep chaos pattern on draft Price for draft beer is not cheap, and the beer was great. The glass it came in was super clean, but also warm. I think it just came out of the dishwasher... So clean, but beer glasses should be cold on principle. Wings The description says these are baked, and then fried before tossed in their sauce. The sauce is yummy. The wings are a fairly large size. But I think they forgot to fry it. The skin on the wings weren't at all crispy, but kinda mushy. The meat was well cooked, but also on the dry side. The celery sticks and carrot rings on the side were super fresh and crispy. Blind burger with side salad I ordered it done medium. It came out very well done. For a wagyu, it lacked fat content, and cooked for too long, so it was very dry. We had just hiked 4 hours at Devil's Lake and quite hungry, but I couldn't finish it. Seasoning was great though. And the side salad was also very fresh. Brussels sprouts Something I haven't done in the last 15 years... I had to ask them to redo it. It came out with underdone Brussels. Interestingly, after I asked them to heat it up more for me, it came out perfect, with the right amount of searing on all the cut sides. Overall, it feels like the kitchen was having a bad day and bad timing - wings needed to get in the fryer for longer, burger should've been out of the pan sooner, Brussels should've stayed in longer. For the prices I paid, I expect better food. Especially since the kitchen knows how to fix their stuff! It was like they put 70% into all the dishes until I spoke up. Would I go back? Nope. Not convinced that the 4.4 rating is justified for me. read more

I was so excited and impressed by blind shot social club! The space is so so cool and has a really cozy ambiance. They have tons of seating including a cute patio. They also have golf simulator which was really cool. The restaurant was clean and the service was excellent. The drink menu was super impressive and featured some thc drinks that were insanely tasty. The food and apps were also incredible, I really enjoyed the street corn dip and the fried goat cheese balls but the entrees were also stellar. They have a few tvs in the space and they were happy to put on the wnba finals game for us and we really enjoyed chatting with the servers about the game. I really liked this place!!! A bit hidden but a total gem. They have virtual golf suites a that can be reserved or played through a league. The dining area is elevated casual. Modern but still comfortable? Anyways we went on a Friday and had to get the fish fry. The walleye was amazing! It came with a fantastic piece of bread, fries and tartar sauce that was more garlicky than usual but I liked! The coleslaw was just okay, but what made this place amazing is the drinks. $5 old fashions for hh and the drink menu is straight up words, places, and lines from movies!! I loved it! Arrived on. Saturday morning and we're greeted wonderfully by the bartender. There were 6 of us and he quickly arranged the tables for us. I can not say enough about the wonderful service throughout the experience. We had drinks off there special menu. All of us liked the choices of the menu and found the mixed drinks well prepared and wonderfully tasty. I cannot say enough about how welcoming it was. The breakfasts were excellent. I had shrimp and grits. An artistic presentation. The shrimp was tendered cooked perfectly. The sauce was flavorful and the grits were a nice support to the dish. Got in on a Tuesday and was able to basically have any seat I wanted. I was waited on quickly and the service was very attentive they gave me enough time to look over the menu and figure out what I wanted. I got a wedge salad with tofu and it was a good wedge. The tofu could have used a bit more flavor but that is the only knock I would give it. Everything else tasted fresh and had good flavor. Blind Shot is one of my partner and I's favorite places to eat. We have had numerous meals here, and while I've had many favorites, I appreciate that the menu rotates. Some standouts have been the crunch wrap appetizer, the goat cheese balls, the chicken sandwich, and definitely the fish fry. Blind Shot really came in (in my eyes) as one of the first local restaurants to have a focus on true mocktails using NA liquors. As someone who is sober-curious I appreciated this. I believe they've really helped pave the way for this movement in Madison. Coming into the restaurant is like walking into an architectural digest magazine. Great location next to Garver Feed Mill. The atmosphere is cool, but the service was soooo slooooww! We had a reservation and had to wait a while to be seated. Once seated at a table, we waited a long time before anyone came over and acknowledged us. A server said, quickly in passing, that he would bring water to us. We finally received the water, which we didn't really need, and had to wait a while longer before they could take our drink order. We quickly said we also wanted to order our meals at the same time. Updated review but I just want to say this place is a gem. It's reliable. The regular menu food is amazing and the weekly specials menu is always full of fun, unique and well seasoned surprises. The OG servers and Chef Keegan are fantastic, and the newer serving crew are so nice. I love that the vibe is classy but low key and there are always sports on the bar TV and golf simulators available but if you aren't into sports it's still a lively vibe and you don't feel it in your face. What a gem... if I had to create a restaurant/bar/social gathering place... this would be my blueprint. Menu is limited but well executed. We had Gouda Grit Special and Gnocchi with mushroom and wine reduction sauce that was savory and fresh mushrooms. We chased these meals down with solid beer offering. My favorite was a Three Goat Chaos IPA. My guest had Paloma Sour on tap. We followed the meal with golf lesson in very good simulator that had good ball recognition and open stall design with couch and counters for beverages. Nice layout. read more

Blindshot is always a good time. I am having a dry March therefore why not go to a place where I can great non-alcoholic drinks and great food. I ordered the Fried Goat Cheese Balls (Creamy goat cheese, panko, honey), Shrimp tacos, and Falkor the Luck Dragon (Ritual zero-proof tequila, passionfruit, lime). It's winter. I live in Madison Wisconsin so now that there is snow on the ground and no trips to warmer places on my calendar what can I do? With the rise of "Golf Simulators" that must be an options and they must be all similar, right? That's what I thought until I checked out this place. Not only do they have 4 hitting bays using the highest rated simulation equipment, they also have PXG clubs should you not have yours with you. This alone might bring you in but be prepared to be shocked by one of the most amazing, fun and creative non-alcoholic and fully loaded drink menus but also an incredible dining experience. Thats right-this golf place serves amazing food and drink. Heck forget the golf altogether and stop in for a drink or meal and leave satisfied and without feeling that inflation has caused you to not eat out anymore. I've done just that a handful of times over the past few months and have never had a bad drink or plate of locally sourced and prepared fresh food that has disappointed. My favorites? For starters the bang bang shrimp or goat cheese balls. For entrees I love the pulled pork sandwich or any of the slider options they serve. This isn't fast food microwaved from a freezer box- it's all made fresh and you can taste that in each bite. Drink menu is fun, creative and offer an expansive no-alcohol menu to boot. This quiet neighborhood addition to the East Side deserves to be full every night and weekend. My husband has been on a big golf kick lately so we decided to check out Blind Shot Golf & Social Club. We noticed that you could make reservations online but decided we'd just walk in since we didn't know exactly what time we'd be able to make it. When we got to Blind Shot, we were told all the rooms were full but we could go in about an hour. Natural, we decided to wait at the bar like most Wisconsinites would do. We ordered a few different drinks and watched the Olympics while we waited. The bar area was really nice, clean, and well decorated. There was even a putting green you could use for free while waiting. After we both finished our first drink, the worker said it was starting to get busy so he'd be happy to put us in a private suite for not additional cost. We were thrilled! We got to golf for an hour in the private suite while enjoying cocktails. The simulator was fantastic! It had all sorts of high tech abilities to help you golf if you want to utilize it. I really just like to hit the ball as hard as I can so I ignored it but my husband loved it! Overall, the place was super nice and we had a lot of fun. We will definitely be back! read more

Very nice surprise at this newer spot on the East side. It's by the entrance to the Garver building, facing Milwaukee street. Nice bar and good service. I had a pork sandwich which came on a nice bun with the right amount of meat and I think coleslaw on it. Instead of the the usual fries I opted for the mixed greens (got to stay healthy) and was surprised to see a nice small salad, which was perfect with my sandwich. My wife got the iceberg wedge ( I was surprised, she usually turns up her nose at iceberg) and it was quite large and had plenty of blu cheese and other stuff with a great dressing. Both lunches were winners. They do the golf thing on one end of the restaurant which looked like fun if you don't mind the THUMPING when the balls hit the screen or what ever it's called. There was a small bar with seating where you could watch the golfers whapp the balls and pretend it's summer. Nice place with some parking around the side and back of the building. I was so excited to try this place out. As an East Sider, this is right in my backyard and I wanted to love it. Unfortunately, the entire experience was *rough*. That atmosphere is great, and they had board games available to play which was a really nice touch. It was pretty dead so they sat us quickly. There are no light beers on draft and a pretty limited selection of bottles so we really couldn't find much of anything we wanted to drink. We ordered apps, both of which were poor. Bacon wrapped shrimp with hooks 5 year cheddar definitely did not taste right. Bacon had a sour flavor and the cheddar did not taste remotely like cheddar. We ordered the two specials, but the waiter realized they had given us an old menu so we had to take another look. We ordered two entrees. We asked for a pork steak cooked medium- I've NEVER been served something that raw. It was difficult to even understand how the chef could have sent it out like that not knowing.. It was shocking. Our waiter saw the look on my face when I cut into it and ran over to the table before I could take a photo, but it was deep, deep purple and literally cold to the touch. Everything in the meal but the wedge salad was pretty much inedible, and even that was bad compared to any other restaurant in Madison. After that we decided to stop wasting money (they didn't comp anything despite the dining experience) and forego dinner altogether. When we played the golf simulator it was glitchy and weird. Our waitress couldn't help us troubleshoot, so half of the shots we took didn't register. Again, I really wanted to like this place but it was a total waste of a night out for us. This was a few months ago (found the review in my drafts) so maybe it has gotten better since then, but we definitely won't be back. read more

Went to the Shot for brunch on Sunday. We had heard good things, so our anticipation of goodness was high. The shrimp and grits was spectacular, rich and appealing. The goat cheese balls were delicious, but I wish the plain honey they were served with had been spiked with a little chili flake. Alas, the burrito was not what was promised. It almost felt like I was eating HEALTH FOOD! If there was mojo pork in or near the burrito, I could't detect it. Altogether boring. Lots of stuff could be done to this burrito to make it something to love. I ordered an n/a drink. The drink I ordered contained Riverine Amass, an ingredient I've grown quite fond of. The drink was just ok. The price of this drink was $13.50, which was not ok. But I guess drinks, like everything else, are double the price pre-Pandemic. I wanted this place to be outstanding because this part of Madison needs more outstanding restaurants. We'll keep waiting. read more

We had the best experience with 14 people for a 60th birthday dinner party. Our server was amazing and the host was very accommodating as well. We rented a suite and had a fun time with that after a great meal. Our Favorites there are the goat cheese balls, wedge salad and the decadent deviled eggs. Hard to find a better spot in Madison-area right now! The vibe is perfect...the golf was fun for our kids but not loud, over-imposing on the rest of the warm/cozy-yet-so-cool bar and dining space. (The first time we went my husband and I just sat at the bar ...so have experienced both spaces). Every detail from the decor to the glassware is very thoughtfully curated - it's clear the team is invested in making your time there an experience that feels like "home" in the most beautifully memorable way.
