This is literally her happy place. But today, I am actually writing about the Birthday Party experience. So a couple months ago my daughter said she wants Gabby's Dollhouse party. If you are familiar with that TV show, it's also very true that it's very hard to find anything Gabby's Dollhouse for parties. I was able to score a few decorations off of Amazon. Even getting a cake with Gabby's Dollhouse theme was a challenge (but King's Hawaiian now has a custom design thanks to the awesome work there!). So originally I was thinking about an another venue but I was pretty positive it was going to be impossible to do a Gabby's Dollhouse theme. I had to find place where a party theme did not matter. Then I came to realization that they do parties here, at my daughter's happy place! I confirmed that we are going to be fine doing a Co-Ed party. And it turned out amazing! When I arrived, all the staff helped setting up the decorations, and Katie had already purchased plates, tablecloths, napkins and banners so I ended up having two birthday banners. (Why did I forget to take more photos!!?!? ugh) We had plenty of table space and space to set up food. The goodies bags were very thoughtfully put together as well and I really appreciated all the details. The final headcount was 28 with 1/4 of them being boys but the boys did not have any trouble mixing in, as obstacle courses and games they'd set up for the kiddos catered to everyone, so they were all very engaged throughout. The coach who led the party was actually the same coach who teaches my daughter so she was so happy seeing him and also got extra time to work on skills she is working to learn. The happy face and all the fun my daughter had with her friends was so worth it. So yes, if you are wondering what the Birthday Party experience is like, no need to be nervous because it's going to be so much fun. This turned out to be awesome. Highly recommended!

It's not what I was expecting. We are going to check out him to Firestorm gym instead as they actually answer their phones. I find it very poor customer service that it takes 24-72 hours to hear a reply, or never. They rarely answer their phones, and I can't see the schedule/time of classes online. I'd like to suggest improving their website and customer service.

Presley is neurodivergent which makes I more challenging to focus and follow directions most times. The impact has extended far beyond tumbling class and into many areas of his daily life. Since beginning training, Presley has shown significant improvement in her ability to mimic and imitate movements, follow directions, stay focused, and regulate his emotions. His mental agility, attention span, and ability to process instructions have all improved noticeably. We have also seen increased confidence, better body awareness, and greater independence when learning new skills. The Ms. Angie and the coaches create a positive, structured, and encouraging environment that has helped Presley thrive. Their patience, consistency, and ability to engage children have made a meaningful difference in his development. The skills he is learning through tumbling have carried over into other settings, including home, school, and social activities. We are incredibly grateful for the support and dedication of Ms. Angie and the staff at American Gymnastics Academy. They wouldn't tell my parents things like I couldn't compete if I left early, only me. I was 7 years old at the time. I'd be constantly made fun of for being 'different' and even got awarded an event back at Acapulco in Long Beach. What was I awarded? Being the scapegoat of everyone's jokes. In their exact words of what I remembered and not being told what it meant till I was old enough to comprehend: "Someone farted? Blame it on her!" and they gave me a donkey plush. As much as I wish I could say this was made up it wasn't, and it affected me growing up and even when I transferred over to SCATS gymnastics. I don't recommend enrolling your kids here, as someone who formerly used to attend. Especially if your kids struggle with autism like I did. Shame on you Carol for taking away my confidence at such a young age. I hope you've grown as a person.

If you are considering signing your child up for SBD run the other way. I was very optimistic about…read morethis organization. My daughter had begged me to do cheer and I knew someone whose daughter went through SBD and had a positive experience. While there are many things I wasn't happy with, the worst part is how negative and verbally abusive the coaches are to the kids. One mom signed her daughter up to work on her self esteem and her coach told her she was being moved to the back because she wasn't good. Another time, my daughter's coach told them that they did a bad job and everyone in the audience will throw tomatoes at them. My daughter was 5 and didn't want to perform because she thought we were going to throw tomatoes at her. She would cry before every practice. I thought the coaches were just tough and it was hard so I encouraged her to keep going, but eventually through a lot of tears she told me all the mean things her coach would say and that is when we didn't continue. We did do a competition and while the girls had been going for 6 months, they didn't learn their routine until 2 weeks before the competition. It was hard to watch and very irritating. Here we were, coming twice a week totally committed while the coach for their team changed 3 different times and nobody seemed to give our team much time or respect. The coaches for the younger teams are kids themselves. They just don't have all the tools to be able to guide and mold 5-7 year olds and I wouldn't expect them to. Management has it set up this way and never watch a practice or monitor what is happening. They say that they're around and trust these girls, but it's a cop out. I never saw a seasoned older coach just stand a one watch a practice. I did complain about all this and more and was given a very kind and genuine response from one of the head coaches. The issue is that while this coach was nice, the culture of SBD is toxic and broken. After we left, I learned that 3 other families left for the same reason. It's sad because these girls really wanted to do cheer and now want nothing to do with it. Please save yourself the headache and pass on this incredibly unprofessional organization. I sincerely hope they're able to look at themselves and make some major changes.
