OMG any and every one who is in to having the best of the best glasses or sunglasses This is the no. 1 place to go to I have traveled many places and I have never seen a sunglasses/Glasses store that can cater to any style and with so many designs. My husband came here looking for sunglasses and Abu was so helpful extremely nice. When I tell you you will be more than happy with this place, I won't go any place else for my glasses or sunglasses. I will travel near and far to always come back. This is he heaven of facewear.

The boys at Blink Optical hooked a girl up with the most gorgeous Gucci sunglasses! Knocked off a few dollars too since my sister also got a pair. They are now my go to for all my optical needs!

I have to give a shoutout to the team at Blink Optical on 415 South St. I flew in yesterday for a day trip specifically for a pair of glasses I had been eyeing on their site. Walking in I was greeted and asked if I needed any help. I decided to look first. Very large selection of whatever you style is. The particular pair I wanted I could find but they had me covered with not only those but they also had extra similar pairs to choose from as well. Blink made buying easy for me. Great conversation with the staff worked Sunday the 20. Knowledgeable about the industry and showed class the whole way through. I'll see y'all in a bit guys. I appreciate it.

Do these look "anti-reflective" to you????

Let me start by saying that, living on South Street, I'm very familiar with the store and their wide selection of beautiful designer frames. I recently lost my pair of new-ish Jimmy Choo prescription frames and needed to come fully out of pocket for new ones. I chose Blink because I had seen an adorable pair of Ray Bans there previously and, honestly, I never stopped thinking about them. A few days before I went in, I called to see if they were running any specials. The gentleman who answered the phone (whose name may have been Justin?) told me that they were running a special: if you buy a pair of full-priced frames, the single vision lenses would be free. I was sold. I stopped in a couple days later and finally got my frames! I asked the salesperson about the lens promotion and he confirmed that any full price frames came with the lenses. I also asked about anti-glare coating which he told me they "throw that on all the lenses for free." I've been wearing glasses since I was 11 years old and while that sounded crazy, I thought cool and we moved forward. I asked him how long they usually took to be produced and he said 3-4 days. It was a Thursday evening so I expected to have them no later than the following Thursday. At checkout, the total came to $300. My frames were only $225 so I asked him what was comprising the extra cost. He told me that the lenses were free, but I'm paying for the prescription. Do you know what that means? Me either. I asked him what he meant by that and again he repeated, "You're paying for the prescription." Perplexed, I said "What do you mean when you say that?" He said, "You know...the medicine in the lenses." THE MEDICINE IN THE LENSES. I should have canceled the purchase right then and there, walked out and never looked back. BUT I needed the glasses and I figured I'd try to take this up with the manager later. Checked my receipt after leaving the store. He had charged me only $180 for the frames and another $120 for the lenses. We had NOT negotiated the price down and remember, the special was only good if you paid full price for the frames. I was angry but again thought I'd take it up with the manager as it was obvious the salesman didn't know anything about glasses, sales, or practicing business with any kind of integrity. I hadn't heard anything by the next Wednesday, so I called to see if there was any update on the frames. I was told they would probably be in later that day or Friday at the latest. While I was on the phone, I asked if I could speak to a manager. Well, naturally, the guy on the other end of the phone was all too excited to tell me "I am the manager. What's up?" I told him about I had come in to take advantage of the lenses special but was charged for my lenses. He asked me if I paid full price for the lenses and I told him no, that the salesman had charged me less without telling me. He said that he had a lot of new kids working for him that didn't know the special. He also tried to tell me that HE had been the one to tell me about the special and that he told me to "come in and see HIM." So, somehow, this was my fault even though, according to this "manager" his own salespeople aren't aware of the current specials. I asked him what he was going to do for me because all I wanted was the special to be honored. He told me he could give me 30% "or more" of the next pair of frames I buy there. THE NEXT PAIR?? Who would go back to this place? He gave me a half-assed apology and that was that. Pretty angry, I reached out to the phone number listed on their instagram page (as you will note there is ZERO contact information on their website -- only goods with the option to buy). I texted the number and said I was looking for perhaps the owner. Initially he responded, but once I mentioned "help," he ceased to respond. Pretty sure he blocked my number. Nice, right? The next day, Friday, still no call saying my glasses had come in and at this point I was pretty convinced that they wouldn't call me at all. Saturday, I walked in with my boyfriend to find the same salesman who did not remember me. I told him I ordered a pair of glasses last Thursday and wanted to know where they were. He said, "Oh yeah. Right. They came in yesterday. I called you." He did not call me. I had no idea. I was literally waiting for that call. He handed me the glasses and I tried them on. The first thing I did was see if they had an anti-glare coating. Would you believe they didn't?! I asked him why there was no coating. He told me they "don't do glare resistant but do anti-reflection coating." Have you ever heard of this? ME EITHER. Never mind the fact that glare and reflection are the same goddamn thing and my glasses were glaring af. TL;DR This business cares about nothing but your money and they will go to shameless lengths to con you without any management to speak of. Despite their beautiful selection, go anywhere else for your glasses.

However, I recently had two instances that were not respectable of my time. A new staff member called on a Thursday to tell me my glasses were ready and that they could be picked up that day or the following day Friday between 10am-5pm. To my surprise, the establishment was not open at 10:45am which was after the said time of 10am. I waited a half an hour and had to leave. I was contacted after leaving a voicemail, and as a courtesy, my glasses were forwarded via courier to my place of work. I then decided to schedule an appointment for my daughter, but the website was inconsistent with the actual hours of operation. A call was placed to schedule an appointment for my daughter and reached the new staff member that had previously provided incorrect hours of operation. However, I proceeded to make an appointment for my daughter which was for 4/16/19 at 4. Upon my daughter arriving she was told her appointment was for yesterday 4/15 and that she was a "No Show". I went on a Wednesday, and there was a sign that said they would be open at 1:30, and no one showed up to open the store all afternoon. The glasses cost a lot of money for the lenses and frames - you would think they would come back quickly and made correctly so I wouldn't have to try coming back to get them fixed. This business seems shoddy to me - it's deceiving because they are in such a nice location, and the prices they charge are so high.

Unfortunately I didn't have my receipt on me so they decided to gaslight me and charge another $65. Months later, I found the receipt, and sure enough I'd already paid for anti-glare. I figured they must have been mistaken. I was wrong. They knew what they were doing. I know that now because of what happened today. I ordered a year's worth of daily contacts on Dec 16. As of Jan 25, they still haven't arrived. The only reason I visited the store today was because I'd called them earlier and they'd confirmed the contacts were ready for pickup. (I'd called multiple times previously and each time they'd told me it would take one more day.) I asked for a refund. Steve took my card from my hand to give me a refund, and then they both decided they couldn't find any record of the transaction. I pulled up my card statement on the phone and showed them that I'd already been charged several hundred bucks. Here's what the ophthalmologist said: "Just because it's showing up on your statement with our name doesn't mean we're going to give you that much money." I insisted it was MY money, I was just asking for it back since they hadn't delivered the contacts as promised. "There's no way you could have paid that much." This is something he said to his colleague over and over again. In addition to: "This is a lot of money. We can't just pay you that amount." This guy is a THIEF IN A LAB COAT. BEWARE! I sat down and made it clear I wasn't leaving. After about ten minutes, Steve was magically able to find the transaction record which had been invisible in the prior 20 minutes. He said, "I'm begging you to let us deliver your contacts. We've already ordered them and now we'd be stuck with them. This will be a big loss for us." I felt bad for the guy and said fine. IMMEDIATELY, his story changed. "I can't order them right now but I'll place an order tomorrow morning." I said if they were already on their way, why would he have to place another order?! He mumbled something about the shipment getting lost etc that made zero sense. I had him hand write a receipt for me. Steve then dropped off the contacts off with me as a thank you for putting up with them, which was a nice touch. This is how they treated me for being a customer for 5 years: incompetence, lies, waste of time, insults, (unsuccessful) attempt at stealing from me, insincere apology, and lies right after. In addition to successfully stealing from me for the anti-glare last year. Followed by dropping off the contacts at my place, about a mile away from their store. Steve's colleague, the ophthalmologist (the bottom-feeder in the lab coat), didn't apologize once for insulting me. He's the same guy who responds to all the negative reviews here with nasty comments. He'll probably respond to this one saying I wasn't acting pleasant enough while he insulted me or tried to steal from me. Because THAT'S what he thinks he's entitled to.
