I had a great experience here even though I used a Groupon. A lot of places aren't too nice to Grouponers, but this place was great. Dr. Wu is just what you want in an eye doctor, competent, efficient, and thorough, but also friendly and personable. The salespeople out front were very helpful and they have a nice range of frames at various price points. I decided not to get my glasses there, but they gave me my prescription without an issue (stores are required to by law, but tons of places will try to hold your prescription hostage to force you to buy contacts/glasses through them). One of the best Groupon experiences I've had, and one of the best eye doctor experiences I've ever had and I've worn glasses for 15+ years. I plan to use this place for my annual eye exam. I was referred to this establishment by a co-worker. My initial encounter was good. My eye exam was thorough and the staff was pleasant. However, I recently had two instances that were not respectable of my time. A new staff member called on a Thursday to tell me my glasses were ready and that they could be picked up that day or the following day Friday between 10am-5pm. To my surprise, the establishment was not open at 10:45am which was after the said time of 10am. I waited a half an hour and had to leave. I was contacted after leaving a voicemail, and as a courtesy, my glasses were forwarded via courier to my place of work. I then decided to schedule an appointment for my daughter, but the website was inconsistent with the actual hours of operation. A call was placed to schedule an appointment for my daughter and reached the new staff member that had previously provided incorrect hours of operation. However, I proceeded to make an appointment for my daughter which was for 4/16/19 at 4. Upon my daughter arriving she was told her appointment was for yesterday 4/15 and that she was a "No Show". Twice there was an issue with the same person's incorrect scheduling. The initial impression was great but fell short. read more

It took several months for them to call me to let me know my glasses were ready. Plus, my lenses have a weird glare to them that makes me see light reflected twice. I have tried to get this fixed, but the place has not been open during the hours that they are supposed to be. I went on a Wednesday, and there was a sign that said they would be open at 1:30, and no one showed up to open the store all afternoon. The glasses cost a lot of money for the lenses and frames - you would think they would come back quickly and made correctly so I wouldn't have to try coming back to get them fixed. This business seems shoddy to me - it's deceiving because they are in such a nice location, and the prices they charge are so high. read more

Have used Omega Optical for about a year. Absolutely terrible service. Slow turnaround times. Unprofessional associates who forget about your order. Different eye Doctors on site who dont seem to be able to match a prescription to my eyes. Now since Covid they have been closed with no way to reach them via phone or email & I do not have a copy of my own prescription. If you have an alternative eye doctor to go, I would highly recommend doing so. read more

Refused to tighten a screw on my frames to stop a lens falling out due to liability issues. Apparently only the technician who is only there on Mondays can touch glasses. Don't even have the disposable kits with a screwdriver so I could tighten it myself. Perhaps more of a PA trial lawyer problem but the end result is the store can't provide simple assistance that would have made alll the difference to my day. read more

I became a customer of Omega Optical when I was in high school wearing glasses. I upgraded to contacts about a year later. I wore contacts for a few years before getting Lasik surgery in 2005. My vision started getting blurry early this year (2017) so I figured it was time to get an eye exam. I scheduled an appointment here a month ago and when I showed up it was closed. I tried calling the number, but there was no answer. Shortly after my appointment time the receptionist showed up and told me and another waiting customer the doctor had an emergency and she called everyone she had a number for. I distinctly remember giving my number when I made the appointment though. Next she said the soonest I could be seen was in another month! I'm not waiting 2 freaking months when there are tons of other optical places near by. She gave me a phone number for another place but I think I'll just find somewhere else. read more

Run, don't walk away from any offers for Omega Optical. I had an Amazon Local coupon and decided to check them out. Not that I was looking for discounts, but needed new glasses and wanted to explore options. I visited their shop (difficult to find) liked the frames and saw Dr. Wu giving very courteous, friendly service to customers so I booked an appt. Dr. Wu's exam was extremely professional and courteous, but the front office staff and Tracy, the manager made my entire experience one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had!! Rather than listen when the glasses finally came and I couldn't see - I was repeatedly told (in a condescending way) that I just needed to adjust to them. I've been wearing progressive lenses for over 20 years - I know the difference between adjustment and being able to see! After the glasses were redone, Tracy kept telling me I just needed to get used to them, instead of listening when I told her the alignment was off. Finally Dr Wu took a look and guess what, the alignment was off! Even when I went back to pick up my sunglasses, and asked for an adjustment - Tracy still insisted the glasses were right - doesn't matter they give me a headache because the alightment is wrong. She insisted because they were straight "on the machine" they were correct - you can look at my face and see how they are slanted, and guess what, my head isn't exactly the same as a machine! I'll pay someone else to adjust them for me. When I mentioned the reviews I read here (after I had already paid) - her comments were that they are from people who use coupons. Wow! I actually am willing to pay top dollar for quality and service. Perhaps her attitude and her staff's attitude towards those who use introductory offers is why there's a pattern here. My whole experience is a classic DON'T DO in customer service, and how to NOT build your business. NEVER, NEVER go here. I would get more respect and better service at Walmart Optical :) UPDATE: I went to the Cheltenham location to get my glasses adjusted, and although the location is not convenient - the staff there was wonderful! I was concerned after reading reviews on Yelp. I was pleasantly pleased. I was greeted by the ladies and my Groupon vouchers was verified. I was not treated differently because I had coupon. Lori came over and helped me look at glasses and gave me her honest opinion. She did not say everything looked good. She took her time with me until we both found glasses that suited me. What great personal service. I am honest straight forward person I like to see that in a sales or customer service person. I have to bring in my deposit. Shame on me. I should have checked Yelp first. I had a groupon for prescription sunglasses. Their hours are limited to weekdays only and even then, 10 to 5. But they don't open at 10 anyway. The order took about 3 weeks to get the glasses and then they were wrong. I took them to my eye doctor and he said the focal point was wrong. Back I went to the store and got a bit of resistance as to if there was anything wrong. After being a bit pushy, I got the eye doctor to look at them and she agreed. Now it is three weeks later and I'm still waiting for the glasses. I have called and each time they tell me they'll be in this week. Today, the woman was honest enough to tell me that she couldn't find my order though she assured me the lab had the glasses. Don't do it! I saved money but totally lost way more in time and quality. read more

My experience at Omega was well beyond any expectations from start to finish. The optometrist was thorough and informative throughout the exam. The optician (Tracy) was remarkable! For the 1st time ever, I was given a complete description of my insurance benefits along with co-pays for progressive lenses, tinting, etc. I knew exactly what I was paying for as we went through the process and my glasses were ready within the timeframe promised. They told me they will get my (basic) glasses in 2 weeks, which is already longer than I ever had to wait for glasses. I told them I will have a surgery 5 days after their 2-week deadline and will not be able to come to the store to pick up after that. When I called after 2 weeks the manager tried to piss me off by not listening to my concerns at all, but kept talking, talking ridiculously fast. They finally mailed my glasses and I got them 5.5 weeks after ordering. Never got a word of apology from them. read more

I actually really like this place. They're a smaller boutique shop that really tries to help you the most they can. Even though I bought my glasses online (because I wanted a larger selection and am a very particular person), they helped me all along the way. They gave me my prescription, took me through the ordering process, and,when the new glasses came in, they fit them to my face and gave me advice on how to go forward with my new prescription (free of charge). read more
