I visited this dentist seeking help after my implant was dislodged due to retainer treatment. Initially, they assured me they could provide documentation on their opinion about whether the retainer influenced the implant issue (required for insurance). After starting treatment, they suddenly refused to provide this documentation unless I agreed to an expensive and purely cosmetic Invisalign treatment through their practice. This felt like clear manipulation and coercion, I felt blackmailed me into unnecessary procedure. While the office staff was friendly and courteous, the dentist's actions felt highly unprofessional and financially motivated. Pushing costly cosmetic treatments instead of addressing my genuine medical concern and withholding promised medical documentation was completely unacceptable. If you're considering this dentist for minor procedures, you might be fine, but for serious dental issues requiring professional integrity, I do not recommend this practice. read more

Dr. Babauta and his dental assistant, Linda, are top tier! I have been coming to Bliss for almost two years now. To be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of the original dentist I was paired with. However, after she left, I was fortunate enough to be paired with Dr. B. He is such a calming presence and always makes my day brighter, even when having to help me navigate multiple cavities and a root canal. Linda is also hilarious and knows exactly what to say to make me feel less anxious. As someone who has had extensive dental work done, I can confidently say that they are a dental dream team. I didn't want to post this but here we are since they've been unresponsive and won't forward my records. They advertise on ZocDoc as in-network for every insurance under the sun and they give estimates as if they'll get anything from your insurance; which is not true. It took them 6 months to send my initial cleaning to my insurance so I missed my FSA deadline, and only then found out I was liable for the whole bill because, shocker, they're not in-network. They said I had 3 cavities and also needed a deep cleaning at $1700. Numerous dental websites describe this process at taking 45-60 min per quadrant. They spent 30 min *on my whole mouth* (for $1700) and of course my insurance noted that my images and gums did not indicate a necessity for this procedure. I had to pay upfront due to length of this procedure. The hygienist (!) recommended Invisalign and they gave me an estimate for $7k and a QR code to get CareCredit. Zero care plan from a doctor on how it would work to fix my bite; just hands reaching for my $$$. Oh, and their entire "smile gallery" on the Bliss website are all stock images. I wouldn't even go to a nail salon that didn't post their own work. This doctor (Shahabi) also operates Serenity Dental Spa where most of the reviews on Google are fed by PatientConnect365 after patients were offered Starbucks gift cards in-office for 5 star reviews. They recommended 3 crowns, which I had done. About a month later, they recommended 2 more crowns, which made me suspicious. But I went in for the first appointment, had impressions done, and then the two most painful injections of lidocaine ever. I was screaming. After that, I left the office with no further treatment. I told them not to have crowns made from that day's impressions, to cancel all future appointments, and to refund my money. I'd paid about $4,000 in advance, and they refuse to refund my money, which paid for services I never received. So they have $4,000 in exchange for providing no services. I consulted another dentist, and he said I didn't need the 2 crowns. It made me wonder if I needed the other 3 crowns in the first place. If you use them, pay by credit card rather than debit card, so that you can dispute the charge if necessary. read more

I went to this dental office for a routine cleaning. I was told that my insurance would cover the cost, but when I received the bill, I was shocked to see that I was being charged thousands of dollars. I called the office to inquire about the charges, and they told me that my insurance had denied coverage. I was furious. I had checked with my dental office beforehand to make sure that they are in-network, and they had assured me that they were multiple times!! After, I called my insurance company to file a complaint, and they told me that the dental office had lied about my coverage. As far as higher chargers, the dental office said, "it was communicated in person," which was obviously a one more lie. In addition to the predatory billing practices, both lie about being in coverage and bill amount; this dental office was a mess with poor hygiene standards. The waiting room was dirty, and unorganized, and the dental service was surfacy with more time spent on talking over actual work. What a waste of time! Dental instruments were also a problem, they didn't work! I spent double the expected time on these people trying to make their equipment work. I felt very uncomfortable during my appointment, and I'm worried that I may have been exposed to who knows what germs. I advise anyone considering going to this dental office to avoid it at all costs. They are predatory, dishonest, and have poor hygiene standards. If you have a bad experience with this dental office, I urge you to report it to the Dental Board of California. Recommending to everyone: - Avoid this dental office at all costs. - Report your experience to the Dental Board of California. - Be sure to check with your insurance company before scheduling an appointment with any dental office. I didn't want to post this but since Ckoryna the office manager refuse to give me a receipt from using my bank card. Not transparent and Dentist Sheila Shahabi is aware of this unethical practice not giving patients information of credit or being over charged. There is nothing Bliss about this place! No transparency and terrible communication! I will be reporting this to the Dental Board of Association. There needs to be an audit done. Please be careful with choosing a dentist. Update: My insurance finished their investigation of my claim and determined Bliss Dental SF diagnosed and provided unnecessary procedures which will not be fully covered because it was unnecessary. So now I have to pay even more than expected. One visit wiped out my insurance for the year and cost me almost $1,000 out of pocket for procedures I didn't even need. Proof attached. read more

Had a great, first visit at Bliss Dental SF. Everyone was welcoming and the dentist did an amazing job. Dr. Patel is very knowledgeable and cares for her patients. She listened to my concerns and was thorough in explaining her recommendations. She went over the areas I need to focus while cleaning my teeth, which no dentist has pointed out before. I have never felt more scammed - this practice seems primarily focused on getting as much money from you as possible. I was strongly encouraged to get invisalign (which I did not inquire about as my teeth are pretty close to perfectly straight) for $7,000 and was told I had 6 cavities that needed to be filled ASAP. They offered to fill 3 of them that same day! I asked for my images to get a second opinion and was charged $50 for the "administrative fee." FYI - if another dentist office had requested my records, this fee would have been waived. The second dentist I contacted told me I had 2 cavities... neither of which needed to be imminently filled. They also assured me they accepted my insurance and then sent me a bill after my visit because they lied about being in-network. The whole experience felt like a pyramid scheme and not at all like a dentist who cares about their patient's well-being. read more

I unfortunately had a scooter accident in July 2023 where I broke both my front teeth in half and desperately needed to find an emergency dentist; Bliss Dental was able to accommodate me on short notice and see me the following morning. Dr. Patel was able to see me immediately and spent a long time with me (3+ hours the first visit) cleaning out my teeth and getting me temporary crowns. I returned a few times afterwards to get root canals + permanent crowns and had a great experience; my end result looked really natural/good. It's been about 6-7 months after I've gotten my crowns and have had 0 issues; they feel great and I was able to regain full bite strength in them soon. Dr. Patel is very kind and patient and does great work; the ladies who work the front desk are extremely nice and all of the hygienists/assistants were very kind as well. I recently moved and now have found Bliss Dental. I had some pending dental work and wanted an office teeth whitening, for my sisters wedding so I decided to check this place out as I saw some great pictures from one of the previous reviews:) it is clean, modern, with all of the latest technology to make my visit fast and comfortable. I got to see my teeth in the scans which was super cool. Dr Patel was fast and thorough, showing me before and after pictures and no pain after my numbness wore off zandra and Dina made me feel super safe and comfortable, and took my mind off of getting the shot, which I didn't feel at all!!!!! This place is excellent - the team really cares! From the moment I stepped into their office, they were helpful, friendly, and welcoming. I had a couple clarifying questions about the cost of my visit because my insurance was unclear about how much they would contribute. The lovely team at the front desk made many calls to my insurance provider to help me sort everything out, which went into my appointment time. But Bliss Dental's team was kind and patient the whole time, offering me water and not making me feel rushed to decide whether or not to move forward with my visit. The team was resilient, respectful in how they approached the situation, and worked so well together to find a solution. They also gave me other options if I didn't want to go through insurance and took the time to explain things so that I was able to understand. I ended up being seen for a teeth cleaning and I'm so glad I did! Each interaction I had with their team was pleasant and warm. They are competent, enjoy what they do, and they make you feel comfortable.
