The wisdom tooth surgery had a bit of a complication but the doctor was available for a quick post-op consultation after-hours to help assuage my concerns, which I appreciated greatly. The recommendation of the wisdom teeth removal from this office had me a little suspicious, because my wisdom teeth were not causing any pain and were not infected. At the time, I agreed to it because it seemed like the right thing to do. CONS: At my cleaning appointment two weeks after the removal, I was suddenly recommended to get multiple unnecessary supplementary techniques including a nightguard and adult braces. The dentist who told me that I need braces did it in a very unkind, unprofessional, and impolite way. I've also never gotten the feedback that I need braces after already doing them for 7 years up to college. She also recommended that I get my wisdom teeth removed-- I literally just got them all removed at their office two weeks prior so I was (1) pretty surprised that she could not tell (the stitches were fresh and bleeding still!) and (2) that it wasn't already on file? I was a pretty put-off by the sudden recommendation of 2+ new procedures because I've never heard of this feedback before, even though I've been coming to this office for more than year. After reading other patients' reviews, it seems like a common pattern. I'm a little disappointed that recommending seemingly unnecessary and expensive procedures to patients is not a unique occurrence. In addition, the office is often really bad at providing receipts, finding my insurance provider, and billing correctly. On many times that I've gone, I've had to pay for multi-thousand procedures out-of-pocket because they couldn't charge my insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield & Delta Dental) directly for some reason. Unfortunately for this plethora of reasons and a growing distaste for the numerous recommended procedures, I will not be returning to Valencia Dental Center. I wish them the best.

The 2 stars i have given is solely based on the front desk & dental assistants. Please read the negative part of my experience to make sure the same thing doesn't happen to you and you save yourself thousands of dollars. The positive: it's a very clean and comfortable space, almost like a boutique dental office. the front desk staff and dental assistants were very kind. i normally hate doing the xray part because the mouth guards are uncomfortable, i even mentioned it to the DA before we did it however the DA was very gentle and kind thru the process. the negatives: i fully believe the actual dentists at this office are running an upsell company to line their pockets by telling patients they need procedures done which they do not need, especially based on previous reviews. A few months back i made an appointment for a simple cleaning with Dr Santiago Uribe. While nice and polite, during my appointment I was told that i needed to get braces and that i also had cavities that needed to be filled. first off i just had 2 very small cavities filled about a year ago, there were no other cavities to be found and there was no reason to have my previous ones refilled. but BRACES? i'm in my 30s and have been going to the dentist every year since i was a child and NEVER been told this. in fact from 3rd grade thru 12th grade i went to school with the same people and was the only person in my class who never had to get braces. I have always been told i have great teeth and a perfect bite. Even when i went to get my wisdom teeth out years back on the east coast we went to a family friend and asked if i needed anything else done. the answer was NO, and why would not trust a family friend? of course with age our bodies change and so do our teeth, so i heard him out but everything he said were things ive never heard before. i left skeptical but open minded because he is the professional and why would he make that up. when i got to the front desk i asked how much braces were thinking its maybe a few hundred dollars. imagine my surprise when they quote me over $7,000! THOUSANDS of dollars they want me to hand over for an issue that was being brought up to me for the first time in my life. I politely declined and said i would think about it and left. I called my mother immediately and we laughed about it and didn't give it much thought after. I wanted to get another cleaning because I have an important event coming up, so I went to a new dental office and also because I wanted a second opinion on the braces situation. I explained what I was told by Dr Santiago Uribe and asked to do another set of X-rays. When they came back they told me there was absolutely nothing wrong with my teeth, my cavities i previously filled were fine and there was no need for braces or even a retainer. I was shocked but not surprised, but also felt like Valencia Dental Center was trying to make something up about my own mouth in order to get me to shell out thousands and thousands of dollars to them. If you check the previous reviews, you'll see i'm not the only person with this experience. the "need for braces" route seems to be a common occurrence here. While they did a great job at a cleaning, i would never feel comfortable coming again based on the fact i personally feel they are trying to swindle people into getting procedures done they don't need to line their pockets. If you do go here and are told something similar, i would highly suggest getting a second opinion before handing over any money.

My mom and I just came here for our teeth cleaning and, knock wood, no problems so far. Their hours are limited due to the Covid situation so do be patient. If you seek a particular dentist from this office, please confirm their schedules to coordinate. Also, you may want to check with them about the insurance coverage if you already have a dental plan or, if not, ask them what plans are most suitable for their office. Dental offices are supposed to be safe, welcoming environments where people can trust professionals during what can already be a vulnerable experience. This encounter made me feel unsafe, unseen, and devalued as a patient. It takes very little effort to show kindness and extend the same basic courtesies to everyone -- especially when providing a paid service. No doctor should model or tolerate discriminatory behavior within their practice. I hope this office reflects seriously on how patients are treated and makes meaningful changes so no one else has to feel the way I did.
