I was told to choose a color and wait for the next available nail technician. Once I was seated, I explained the services I wanted, and my nail technician began my pedicure. Not even halfway through my service, the manager came over and asked my nail technician what I was getting. After she explained, the manager turned to me and asked me to pay for my services before they had even been completed. When I asked why I was being required to pay before my service was finished, she told me it was because they were closing and she needed to complete the accounting for the night. Frankly, I don't understand how that became my responsibility. What made the situation even more frustrating was that another customer receiving a pedicure was not asked to pay in advance. When I pointed this out, the manager claimed it was because I had requested gel polish, which would take longer. That explanation didn't make sense, especially since my service had already started. To make matters worse, I offered my American Express card, which the manager refused, stating that their credit card machine no longer accepted American Express. I have successfully used my American Express card at this salon on multiple previous visits. Since I didn't have another physical card with me, I asked if she could bring the card reader so I could tap to pay. She then told me the machine wasn't wireless. As a result, I was forced to Zelle payment before my service was even complete. Even worse, I never received the full pedicure I paid for because the staff rushed to leave for the night. I've been a customer before, but this experience was unprofessional, inconsistent, and left me feeling singled out and inconvenienced. If your business cannot complete services that begin before closing or has policies requiring customers to prepay mid-service, those expectations should be communicated before the service starts--not while a customer is already in the chair. I cannot recommend this salon based on the way I was treated, and I will not be returning.

They usually give cash back to allow people to tip. In my mind, I was already going to tip $5 so I requested that. I was given my receipt and it stated $20. I was confused as to why I was charged $20 when the wash should have been $10 and I only requested $5 cash back. I told the woman that I thought it was $10, and she just said no. I paid the $15 and kept my $5 because I'll be damned if I pay $20 for a hair wash with no blow dry. Now that I think of it, I think the woman added her own tip. In addition to hair services, they also have a barber for mens hair cuts and they do some waxing. If you seen the way the waxing machine looks and you care about sanitation, you may not want use that service. Ambiance: the salon isn't well maintained in the least. It usually smells of burnt hair or a bad perm. There isn't much decor. The seating and other things are screaming for an update. I don't think they have a window to open, so there isn't much air circulation. The bathrooms are usually dirty and the ceiling in there drips when it rains. I've never seen anyone come with an appointment and there is usually only 2 hair stylists, so I believe it is a first come first served situation. You will be here at least 3 hours with how long they take. Your hair will look decent and maybe even beautiful, but I hate that they add product to your finished hair because it makes the style get greasy and stale faster. There is free parking in the parking lot.

Although I had an overall good experience there, when I went for my 18ish month touch up, the owner of that business seemed distracted, didn't really care to listen much and overall the whole service felt like a rushed, assembly line transaction. It's been 18 months since that last touch up, so I was due for one. My brows started to have that washed out look, but I just didn't feel compelled to go back to the original artist (although the color boost would have been much cheaper.)After following Good Brows on social media for a few years, I decided that Simone's work had a softer, more natural look that was much more aligned with my taste. So I inquired and she soon followed up to set up a consultative call after I sent a picture of my brows at present. My appointment was set up on that call, which was about 6 weeks away. I made a non-refundable deposit at that time and then received more pre-appointment instructions the week of my appointment. I must admit, there are a lot of details to read and pay attention to when it comes to policy - which is either a sign of a meticulous and detailed business owner, or potentially someone so particular that flexibility may not be at the forefont when it comes to collaboration. Luckily, all of these details are just so that Simone can maintain a high level of professionalism in running her business and ensuring that her clients receive the standard in care and artistry that they're paying for. On morning of the appointment, I gave myself plenty of time to ensure I wasn't late (there is a $150 rescheduling policy if you're more than 10 mins late.) She texted me right when I was arriving, which was a few minutes early to let me know I could come in if I was waiting, so we were able to start right on time. The studio space is warm and beautiful, adorned with gorgeous art (if you're lucky, she may tell you some stories about the pieces.) She then sat with me to talk about my concerns and interests. She's a good listener - genuine, intentional and collaborative in ensuring that what you like is what she delivers. When asking about how nano strokes might look over time, she was honest with me and level set expectations. I can't tell you how much I appreciate that kind of transparency -it's refreshing. She ended up cleaning up my brows, color correcting and adding a few strokes to the front and I tell you - I feel brand new (even fresh out of the chair, which we all know can feel a bit alarming before the color softens up in the healing process.) Additionally, it was evident through our conversation throughout that Simone is a beautiful human - inside and out. I enjoyed our chat and loved the result of her work. If you're in limbo, I suggest you go for it but have a good sense of what you're looking for. Bring examples of past work that you may like or try to go in with an understanding of the overall aesthetics of what appeals most to you. Simone is an expert, so the quality of the work speaks for itself. I feel relieved that I've found an artist that has an aesthetic of work and level of professionalism that I truly value to return to when needed. Thanks again so much, Simone!

Bliss Nail & Spa of Alexandria, VA - Unprofessional and Lacking Care for Clients I had an extremely disappointing experience at Bliss Nail & Spa during my last visit. I went in to repair a broken nail and made it clear to the technician, Terri, that my nail was sensitive and needed to be handled carefully. Despite this, she dug too deeply into my nail bed while removing the damaged section, causing unbearable pain. I screamed in agony and tried to make her understand the severity, but she seemed indifferent to my discomfort. Against my better judgment, I allowed her to finish the repair. The very next day, the nail broke again. I couldn't get it repaired immediately due to the pain, but I called to inform the receptionist, Maria, about the issue. Rather than offering any resolution, I was told there was no availability to fix the nail, which added to my frustration. To make matters worse, I noticed a few nails had developed fungus due to the acrylic overlay, and within days, several other nails broke. The technician ignored my concerns, didn't communicate well, and repeatedly over-filed underneath my nails, making them thin and brittle. At no point was I provided with advice or care instructions to maintain healthy nails. What's even more troubling is how the business handled the situation. Instead of apologizing or addressing my concerns, they contacted me to defend the technician, claiming she was "stressed" because I yelled after she caused me immense pain. This reflects a complete lack of professionalism and care for their clients. Instead of resolving the issue, they made excuses and continued prioritizing profits over quality service. Additionally, I found it inappropriate for the owner (Cathy) to reach out to me only to suggest that the worker would no longer assist me, rather than addressing the root problem or ensuring their staff provides better service. This response felt dismissive and failed to acknowledge my concerns as a customer. I have since started going to a salon in Woodbridge, where my damaged nails were repaired, and the care is far superior. I can confidently say that convenience isn't worth enduring the pain, poor service, and unprofessionalism at Bliss Nail & Spa. I came here couple times with my friend who lives close by. She recommended the place. I've had done gel manicure and spa pedicure here, which i liked. Last time i had done the SNS dipping powder and the color was amazing but the job wasn't nicely done. I think they are new with SNS because when i made the appointment they were kind of confused and didn't know who to schedule for the job, and the lady who did my manicure looked like she didn't have much experience with the SNS products and technics. When i mentioned to her that the powder on my nails is way too thick she said that it supposed to be like that because it's powder, but i had it done many times before in other places and of course it wasn't thick at all. I didn't argue with her or anything, i said ok and i tipped her 20% but i won't go back here for a SNS manicure for sure, maybe a pedicure or regular gel manicure. read more

I had such a great experience at this nail shop! The salon is clean, relaxing, and well-organized, which immediately made me feel comfortable. The staff is incredibly friendly, patient, and attentive -- they really take the time to make sure you're happy with the result. My nail technician did an amazing job: precise, gentle, and very detail-oriented. The shape, color, and finish were exactly what I wanted, and the nails still look perfect days later. Not gonna lie I'd be annoyed too if someone was correcting my work - but this is a customer service business. Choppy job and significantly unsatisfied. Overall, ridiculously long amount of time to leave with results that look like this. Recommend if you do come here ask for a young nail tech because they seem to know what they're doing and their clients left happy and loving their nails. Tip to the business: teach your techs how to properly apply hard gel & a DEEP French so you don't get these results.

I provided my inspo pic in advance for my special event and even told them it was a trial run for my wedding nails. ...It looked like I straight up used a whiteout sponge on my nails. See pics below. I made a last minute reservation at 4am for a gel polish change with Daily Nails; Jennifer nailed the ombré gel polish correction! I can't believe it only took her 20-30 minutes. She always lets you try several shades to make sure you're 100% happy with your color, she always files your nails to the perfect shape and leaves them clean and perfect. She always has recommendations for me and new styles. In the picture posted I got the mirror effect on a white square manicure. Last time about two weeks ago I got a glittery cat eye polish!! I always get the gel, the SNS is amazing but a little more expensive, other wise I'll get the regular polish and it usually lasts as well. I've tried a few other places in Springfield for manicures and I ALWAYS regret paying more for a manicure that is the same if not worse overall and the treatment is lacking. I've brought friends, family, boyfriends for pedis literally everyone had glowing reviews. My mom loves getting pedicures here by Tina! I highly recommend you get the regular polish with the added callous treatment and removal it leaves your feet feeling so smooth and amazing. I've also had full leg wax, upper lip, and armpit wax. It was quick and so reasonably priced compared to several places in the area. I've bought gift cards here, and recently purchased the eyelash extensions for my mom. I honestly would trust Tracy with my life, not exaggerating. She knows each and every one of her clients by name and engages with us. It makes you feel so at home. They have complementary coffee and the decor is light blue and so cute. Tracy is so dedicated and puts her heart and soul into her salon. I recommend everyone to Tiki hair and nail salon!

They are always eager to help and 100% genuinely nice people! I always get a gel manicure, a regular pedicure, and eyelash extensions filled when I'm here. It might take slightly longer than other salons, but the time spent is enjoyable. From the wide screen tv that they'll change to any channel you like, to the cookies and snacks left up front, everything about this place is well-thought out, and deliberate. I can't say enough good things about the two ladies that run this place, and their work with nails and nail art is purposefully perfect. They do eyelashes like pros, and don't charge a fortune.
