It had the salons name, address and phone number on it, so that's how I knew how to use it. They told me it wasn't theirs and they would not honor it. I decided to get a pedicure before before the Valentines weekend. I googled salons near me and this location had the best reviews. I arrived without an appointment and did have to wait long before being serviced. Once I was seated, I was offered some water and the color pallet to pick my color. When the technician started my pedicure, she really took her time to remove overgrown nails and dead skin. She massaged my legs with a great smelling lotion and gave me a great leg/feet massage and applied a hot towel after. She applied a very even polish and top coat to my nails and even helped carry my shoes to the drying station. Overall, I had a great first experience. I had tried this place a while ago and wasn't very impressed but recently gave it another shot and decided to go back. But WOW. I wish I had not since it was the most horrific customer experience I've had in a while! - The first time back, getting Gel-X, the treatment I got was quite disappointing (I asked for medium length, and the technician tried to apply first the short ones, then the long ones saying she can 'cut them', so it took me actually insisting to get a real 'medium length' set).I was mostly happy with the overall outcome though, since the nails lasted long enough and looked good. - The second time back, getting once again Gel-X, was the day before I left for my honeymoon so it mattered a lot to me that these were done right. The experience seemed ok overall, (apart from once again having to insist on wanting an actual medium length set, after being falsely offered once again the short length set despite having asked for the medium from the beginning). The surprise was a few hours later when I was back home . First one of them popped off, then another shortly after. Even my husband - who obviously has no knowledge regarding manicures or Gel-x nails - thought it was ridiculous since I had just come back from the nail salon. I had to remove all of them at this point since 2 of them were gone and I was hours away from my early flight. This was very disappointing to say the least! - I actually went back a third time, once back from my honeymoon, thinking it could've been a one-off (it was a Saturday - the place was busy so maybe the technician didn't realize these were not attached properly as she tried to rush through them?). Now - this was the absolutely worse nail salon experience of my life and I'm saying that as someone who has been getting their nails done twice a month for the last 20 years. Things got worse as she paid no attention to what she was doing trying to finish off and send me on my way (i asked for square, she tried applying almond ones; I had to ask her to file the edges appropriately since they were literally cutting into skin sharp, she applied a random base color arguing she needs to 'cover the nail' because what I wanted is too sheer etc.) . As this was not all enough , at some point she literally went off on me , saying I needed to relax, that I am being rude to her, I should go somewhere else if I'm not happy etc. in an accusatory, scolding tone. Now - I did not say anything rude at any point- I asked for the service to be completed properly, pointing out the issues to avoid a repeat occurrence of having to remove them in a few hours. All of which being things i would not need to point out if she was doing a proper job anyways! However, it was obvious she can not take criticism and rushed me out with the worst possible gelx ever! (Photos attached so you judge how 'professional' these lumpy , thick, strangely shaped nails are). Overall, would I ever go back? Of course not!! But I would not have bothered with the review either if it was not for the unacceptable behavior! I was embarrassed in the middle of the nail salon, being scolded at! For asking the job to be completed properly! The concept of 'if they pop off - come back and we can fix it / it's not a big deal' is a very tragic approach. Obviously it only works if you have the time to just randomly go back to get your nails done whenever you want. I would not recommend this salon, at least not Sophie. I cannot speak to any of the other nail techs. I originally went to her for a hard gel set, and she did a solid job. So when it was time for a fill, I decided to go back to her. She does an appalling job the second time. Putting aside the fact that she made my nails insanely thick and chunky, I left the salon, and my nail was already detaching from the hard gel at the edge. I immediately returned to the salon, and she "fixed it." Unfortunately, 1 week later, I noticed 8 of my 10 nails lifting. This is a product that they claim lasts at least two weeks. Considering this started happening the moment I left the nail salon, I think it's safe to say this is an issue with the nail tech's technique and not anything I was doing wrong. Fast forward, I call the salon and tell them the situation, and they say to come in. I take the time out of my day to come in and get it fixed because paying $60+ on nails that immediately start falling off seems odd. I'm sitting there, and Sophie is doing my nails. She finishes up and then has the audacity to look me in my eyes and say "next time you should go somewhere else".... Mind you, I wasn't rude, I wasn't nasty to her, I didn't even critique her work. This is her response to someone who paid money for a set of nails that immediately started lifting and then coming in to have it fixed. Not really sure how to take that, she either has an issue with people of color since she came recommended to me by someone of a different race whose nails always look well done or she's simply not very good at doing nails or acknowledging when she could've done better. I had a great experience getting a gel manicure here. My nails look the best they've ever looked after a gel manicure thanks to the nail technician, Natalie. I'm so so pleased. My whole experience was fantastic. I called about 30 minutes before arriving to make sure they could fit me in. I arrived early and they sat me right away. The salon is clean and the atmosphere is modern. The music was calming and the whole vibe of the salon feels relaxing. Nail salons everywhere should take a lesson from how this place is designed and the experience it provides. It makes me want to go back over and over. I don't live here but travel to Alexandria about once a month for work. I will likely stop in to get my nails done every time I'm in town because it was that good. It was about $10 more to get a gel manicure compared to what I pay at home but I don't mind considering the quality of the manicure and the overall cleanliness and atmosphere of the salon. read more

Really enjoyed getting my manicure and spa pedicure here. It's perfect because I can just walk across the street from work, get my nails done and head home (aka good way to wait out rush hour). The pedicure was a generic pedicure. Nothing extraordinary - your feet soak, a massage (my technician could've gone a little harder but that's preference so can't knock 'em down for that), hotel towels, lotion & scrub and you get some polish on those wiggly piggies. Onto the SNS. I have tried 3-4 different salons and each time I end up not super happy with my nails because I pick a design and the technician tells me I can't have it because I like my nails shorter. This would not be the nail salon to go to if you are seeking qualify nails in a timely manner. I went to the salon with two of my gal pals; two of us for gel manicures + standard pedicure, and one for gel manicure + gel pedicure. Immediately no one helped us check-in, but asked if we chose our nail colors. There was confusion about the colors and service because it appeared only one of a handful of technicians spoke English and had to instruct her peers. When our nail colors were settled, we noticed how there was not a place for us to hang our jackets/put our bags when they sat us down for the pedicure treatment. For me, the biggest challenge is that the technician helping me was very callous in her technique and she sliced my toe with the buffer! My toe bled throughout the treatment and her attempts to amend it were uncomfortable (unknown liquids and powders pressed into the wound). Needless to say, the dark gash on my big toe doesn't look pleasant, counter to the purpose of a pedicure. For my other friend, the color was much lighter than she anticipated and the woman helping her did not understand that she wanted to go another direction. Finally for my third friend, she opted out of the manicure because her gel pedicure took nearly 1.5 alone. For nails, there had to have been at least five different technicians helping me. It seemed like they were trying to instruct each other how to do it right. Early on I wanted to change direction, but they insisted on adding more layers...now my nails are lumpy. One woman said I could come in the next day and she would fix it, but I was flying out of town the next morning, plus I wouldn't want to spend my whole morning there. I was seeking a gel manicure with a metallic bronze nail color and then a regular pedicure with a muted mint color. In the end I have a lumpy gel manicure on my hands and a dark, red scab on my right toe - I am a little nervous about infection because my toe hurts today. My toes were wrapped in Saran Wrap (probably because of the wound) and it was hard for me to walk because I was sliding around in my shoes. The cost of the service was $71, but for nearly two hours of discomfort, I'm not sure of the value, rather just caution other patrons from poor service! Other notes: My friends and I found it to be crowded. They did offer small bottles of water of which 2/3 of us refused. read more

I was surprised that I had a hard time finding a salon that actually gave this service and even more surprised at the prices of salons that do offer it. I was lucky to get Kevin as my technician, he worked quickly but it didn't feel rushed at all. He checked in with me at each step to make sure I was happy with the progress and happily accommodated any requests or changes I had. I get a manicure and a pedicure each time. She is very gentle with me - I have extremely sensitive feet! Her massages are heavenly and sitting in their comfortable massage chair is such luxury. The pedicures are ok but the videos of the nuns was kind of odd. I used to come here regularly, but my visit this weekend was...eerie? Odd? Off putting? They tried to upswell me three times, despite me politely saying just a pedicure. Then it got weird. There was a video playing on their TV of young nuns smelling flowers, walking slowly around a church and the weirdest, one of their feet in conservative heels. It just looped for the entire length of my pedicure. I took a video of the nuns on the and was rudely asked what I was doing and was then shown one of several signs that said "we reserve the right to refuse service". Just an eerie experience.
