It's been a couple months since I've gotten my nails done due to Covid, so I was really hoping for a relaxing experience and service that I was happy with. The wait here wasn't bad, as I had made an appointment. But in my opinion I think the service was just okay. The woman who did my pedicure seem to have rushed and the paint job was quite messy. The guy who did my nails did a good job, but one of my nail gems came out after about four days and I had to go get it fixed. When I came back they fixed my paint job and reglued my gem, but I feel like they were interrogating me on if I truly got the service there because I forgot to bring my receipt back. This afternoon a friend of mine and I decided to pamper ourselves to a mani and pedi. I told him about this nail place my sister and I went to a few weeks ago. The guy who did my nails last time did an amazing job. I ended up spending $100 service+tip. (Pricey but I had some extra add on's so I get it). So this would have been my second time going here. Walked in to the salon and there were about 3-4 people sitting up front. I was excited to see a familiar face and told one of the gentlemen up there that I think he had did my nails last time. Full disclosure, he may have not been after all, but oh well. Not the point. So I asked if this guy could do my nails "again" he mentioned he had an appt occurring at 2pm. So I took that as a no but was not bothered, just wasn't meant to be. No big deal. So, I go to pick out my color and my friend, who is Vietnamese, is starting to get uncomfortable. He turns to me and says, we need to go somewhere else. From the look on his face, I can tell that he overheard something. I asked him, what are they saying? I want to know! According to my friend, everyone at the front was talking shit about me. One in particular whose name is Tommy. The insults included that I was pickey, annoying, and other things. Honestly, I can sympathize. I wasn't mad at that. What caught me off guard and made me livid and enraged is that this guy also stated that he was going to mess up my nails so that I would not ask for him again!!!!! WTF!! On my way out I let the front know that my friend told me everything they said and that I would be writing a review. Why would you purposely mess up my nails ?!! My hard earned money and you want to teach me Lesson? He did not realize that he had me confused with another person because that was my 2nd time there. There girl who "assuming looks like me" who frequents there BEWARE. I'm hoping this review is read by everyone considering to go here. They will purposely mess up your nails so that you don't go there again. They do not want your business so no need in spending money here. I came here 3 times to give it a chance. I got nexgen, have been getting nexgen for over 7 years so I know what the intended last should be. The first time I came I really enjoyed the amount of colors they have, so many beautiful colors. The price was also super reasonable and I was pleased. Unfortunately after just a week my nail coat started cracking. 2 weeks the top coat started peeling. I gave it 2 other chances to see if it was just a fluke but my friend and I consistently had the same type of peeling and cracking. This has never happened to me before. I've been going to the spa for about six months first two times I came my nails were fine but in the last few months I've had problems with cracking, top coat peeling, and bumpy nails. Each time I would come back to show them and complain. Today was the third time. This salon gives a 10 day guarantee on Nexgen /dip nails. Well this is the 14 day! So of course I came in to late past the guaranteed time. Well unfortunately It is not always possible to come in for nail repairs. But nexgen usually last a lot longer. I have had them for a few years now. Again this is my third complaint. So you would think I would get more considerate service. These are some of the reasons this was my fault: -do you work with chemicals? I work form home as a business analyst. -you are the only person who has this problem. Oh so it's not valid? Evidently a lot of nail techs aren't comfortable working with long natural nails or charge you an arm and a leg for a simple dip with shaping. So HAPPY to have found me regular spot! Tiffany does an absolute flawless job with my nails every single time. I've had long coffin shaped nails for years and she convinced me to change shapes and I am so in love with my new nail shape. She leaves my nails gorgeous every time, truly a pro at what she does. Also, Nancy is wonderful with my pedicures. I felt very misled and ripped off. $95 for acrylic gel set. I was shocked when they rang me up and asked for a price break down. They are long and shaped, which I understand that costs extra. I was surprised that was $20 when their pricing says the shape is $5. I don't understand how the length could be $15. I picked out two colors- black and a black glitter. They told me that the glitter was a "design" and charged me $10 extra. Never in my life have I been told that a nail polish color was a design. I feel completely ripped off. Made an appointment to get my old acrylic set removed and have a fresh set installed.. I have never had a set removed with acetone and that's exactly what was done.. she let my nails soak for 7 minutes and proceeded to removed acrylic w/ her drill set. She sanded them down with one try and began the new nails. I had to stop her, she was literally installing/gluing nails above acrylic that was not fully removed. Yes, there was still acrylic on my nails from my last set. She didn't care.once I pointed it out, she removed the nails and started to sand and drill again.she paid no attention to detail and when I felt pain in my nails I stopped her again and noticed she had over-sanded my nails down to the skin. I stopped service. My nails are now brittle. It's been about 4 days and there is still left over acrylic on my nails. don't go this place. They care more about fast service. And the over all cleanliness of this place is horrible.. she used a "used" drill bit set on my nails. Nothing is sterilized here. Not even the nail clipper she used to clip my old set. They didn't charge me, but I tipped nonetheless because they did provide a service. Today when I stopped in, the guy at the counter had his back to the door and was very into texting...so much so, he didn't even bother to turn around and acknowledge someone just walked in the door. In fact, no one said a word as I stood there. Customarily, but not necessarily, there's usually someone in a nail shop calling out some sort of greeting upon entrance. The vibe they give off is good, it is the person that takes the payments that is always smug and seems to be cheating customers out of money. It is the pricing that I have had issues with. So I went with my sister and we got the same mani & pedi. For some reason mine cost five dollars more than sisters. When I asked why, I was told it was because of the shape (almond) that I had done. I was never told there was an extra charge for different shapes. So the next time I went, I made sure to find out which shapes they charge more for and made it a point to ask for the natural shape. But even though I got the same mani & pedi as always this time, it cost seven dollars more than it should have. This last time that I went it cost almost $15 more this time when I asked why, I was told it was because the polish for my toes had a metallic shine to it. (Keep in mind it is just your basic, regular nail polish) and because my nails were long, I promise you my nails are not long.
