Had a very good deep tissue massage with cupping and hot stones at Bliss. I found them on Groupon but called directly to see if they would honor Groupon's price, which they did. I was able to make a next-day appointment. The employee who answered the phone and made the appointment was very nice and accommodating. Within minutes of me booking my appointment over the phone, she texted me a confirmation and the location details, which was extremely helpful. There was even a picture. I arrive the next day for my massage. Well, the outside is a bit unsuspecting, the inside is quaint and comfortable. The set up is very similar to the types of massage and reflexology spas that she would find in places like Chinatown or K-Town (pick a city). There are small rooms with curtain doorways down the hall. Each room has a bed, a couple shelves, and just enough space for the masseuse to navigate around. My masseuse, whose name I unfortunately, did not catch, started with my back. After giving me a nice massage, which was about a half step lighter than I would have liked in terms of pressure, she applied the cups. After the cups were on, she began massaging other parts of my body. The hot stones were only used on my back and neck while I was faced down. I did ask for deeper pressure at various points. The pressure was pretty good, but it wasn't as deep as I would've liked. The deepest pressure I felt was in my shoulder blades, and that was actually very nice. But for my legs, I definitely should've asked for even more pressure. I didn't want to go too hard because after asking twice, I wasn't sure if she could even go any harder. Lol. The spa is clean. And they are very transparent with pricing. They are also very accommodating and will do things like get you water before and after. When I made the appointment, I was also asked if I had a gender, preference, which I appreciate. Next time, I may opt for a man. They tend to be a little bit rougher, which is what I need sometimes. I came here for a massage on a rainy Sunday afternoon. The place was recommended to me by a friend. When you enter, you immediately feel transported to a tranquil, calm and relaxing atmosphere. The front desk staff was friendly and personable. Besides the standard waiver, I was handed a form to fill out that detailed my preferences for the massage (i.e. level of pressure, massage additions, areas to avoid, etc.). I like that these items were requested up front to maximize the time I spent getting an actual massage. The massage itself was VERY good. I requested a firm, deep tissue massage, with stretching, and that is exactly what I received. My masseuse worked out each and every single one of my kinks. My only complaint relates to the hot stones used during my massage. They were VERY hot. I almost thought I would leave with a second degree burn. I encourage Bliss to check the temperatures of their hot stones to ensure that their patrons do not get injured. All in all, I can't wait to return for another massage. No frills massage. Haven't been back here in awhile and things have changed, naturally: Pros: You are here to get a massage, hopefully. Cons: - Place is a bit dilapidated and needs some sprucing up (i.e. tattered floor rug, tiles held together with tape, and a somewhat "sticky" waiting room sofa). - We were 2 min. behind for our appt behind (it was during rush hour to be fair), but then we just sat around for 15 min. while the front desk was trying to manage the chaos figuring out who was even massaging us (we asked for 2 females when we booked our appt, which was the reason they said to come at the time we booked, but when we got there, they asked if we had a gender preference). - I found it off-putting to have to pay for my services before anything even started. - My masseuse had cold hands for the first 5-10 min and used her elbows for a good chunk of time (big no-no's during a massage for me). - Hubs masseuse did a 55 min massage instead of a 60 min (when you pay by the min, cheating someone of 5 min is a big no no). - Hubs masseuse didn't apply enough pressure and massaged his feet (even though they make you fill out papers and he had requested strong pressure and no feet massaging). Be specific here. This isn't your typical place where they'll know to work on your full body or even pay attention to what you filled out. read more

After an especially banged up week from an attempt at crossfit, I decided to visit Bliss on the advice of a family member. It was easy to locate right off of Rockville Pike, with a dedicated parking lot out front. I like that you fill out a questionnaire beforehand with problem/focus areas and the desired pressure wanted. I was quickly taken back into the massage room, which was one of many down a long hallway. It was dark, quiet and serene with soft music playing. I've had several massage therapists here and each one has done a really great job with working out kinks and applying the indicated pressure on pain points. My line of work, I am working extremely long days and I get called in at a drop of a hat. I had to cancel my appointment for tomorrow which I called as soon as I found out and explained the situation. I would give this place 3.5 stars. I didn't hate my massage, but I didn't love it either. My friend bought a Groupon for a Couples, Hot Stone Massage (60 minutes). We made a reservation for 7pm and arrived at 6:45pm. We were asked to come back at 7pm because of foot traffic in their lobby area (no problem). Once we came back, we were asked to fill out our preference form and then directed to the room. I had a man and my friend had a woman. The man moved so quickly I didn't have a chance to enjoy anything. Every stroke was done as if time was running out. It was a bit bizarre. I didn't really find it soothing at all. I only had hot stones for a third of my massage. When I was asked to turn over, my friend was still being massaged on his stomach at a slower pace. He wasn't asked to turn over until about 10 minutes after me. We compared massages and he said his massage was so good that he fell asleep and the woman didn't rush at all. I was asked to place my mask on once flipped around, but he said he was not asked to put on his mask. There were a lot of discrepancies in our massages and I'm a bit disappointed. Once you're done they allow you to get dressed and then give you water in the lobby and wait. I guess they're waiting for their tip because they didn't leave until my friend tipped them. I have tried about 5 massage therapists there and Cici is clearly the best. She can do a strong, deep massage or a relaxing one/Swedish. She has helped my lower back and my knee/ acl. She will work on whatever areas your request such as head, face, feet, lower back etc. Cici has a lovely personality and good sense of humor which adds a nice dimension. If you try Cici first, you'll probably stay with her, but you can try others. The rooms and tables are clean and the rooms attractive. A It is the most professional parlor I have seen. My only complaint is that in the past, I had a voucher where after 10 massages you get one free. After the covid, the vouchers were not honored and the $60 price for an hour raised to $65. I had 2 vouchers, one with 9 stamped. That's $540 and no ability to get the free massage.At $540 I would get 2 massages for $60! You did not honor the agreement. I am a regular customer at Bliss and had a very disturbing incident last month. It was unsolicited and sexual in nature. I have Been a customer at Bliss for a couple of years and have only experienced the utmost in professionalism from the staff and massage therapists until now. I did go back a couple of weeks after it happened to let management know what occurred. I felt that she was not at all shocked or surprised by what I was telling her. This was even more concerning. Her response was to offer me a free future massage, which I will clearly not be using. I'm concerned for others this may have or could possibly happen to. Please just be warned. They are the only Asian spa I know so far that has actual receptionists that confirms your appointment and makes sure communicates what you really want done. Love it here. Came with my friend for a relaxing afternoon. I requested a relaxation massage with hot stone, pressure soft to medium. My friend had also requested a relaxation massage for her head, shoulders, and neck only. The massage I received was anything but a relaxation massage. I don't know if her specialty was deep tissue and she was just a poor match for me but she was incredibly rough and deep. Her movements were quick and forceful like a bull in a China shop instead of the relaxing experience I had signed up for. The hot stone massage lasted all of 5 minutes maybe. I repeatedly had to ask her to go softer which she acknowledged and then promptly returned to the same overbearing pressure. She also repeatedly pulled my thong down, even though the intake form did not mention glute massage as an option (otherwise I would have requested they avoid my glutes). I should have said something then as I was incredibly uncomfortable but I know some massages do include glutes so I tried to just chill. But again, her pressure was way too hard and painful. I finally asked her to avoid the entirety of my lower back and my buttocks. She said ok, then a few minutes later returned with the same unbearable pressure. I once again, more forcefully had to request she stop. She then went to pull my thong back up and proceeded to run her fingers beneath the strap while pulling the thong upward, situating it between my buttocks. Like wtf, I can adjust my underwear myself, it was so uncomfortable and a bit traumatizing At this point I knew she would not do my legs soft enough and I would be in unbearable pain so I requested she not do my legs at all. Instead, I asked for more time on my feet and my head. When she started massaging my head it felt like she was drilling her fingers into my skull and then violently rubbing my hair. Altogether it was the worst massage I've ever had. I've never wished for a massage to end so quickly. My friend, likewise, said hers was the worst she'd ever had. Altogether this was a truly disappointing experience especially as this was a girls weekend celebrating the new marriage of my best friend. After our massage both masseuses waited outside for us with water and then proceeded to wait for their tips. I had to tip on a credit card and she literally stood there waiting until I said the tip amount then thanked me and walked away. Also incredibly awkward as we should be able to tip without feeling pressured, very bad etiquette and I've spent most of my life in the service industry working for tips myself. There are no shortage of massage places in Rockville, but I found Bliss Reflexology to be a bit more professional than average. The reception staff speak English and review your preferences form with you to help ensure accurate communication with your masseuse. It took me a few visits to find a masseuse I liked. It's a reasonable price for the DC area, especially if you take advantage of frequent specials that they text you with. It's a little far from metro but parking is fairly easy in the Woodmont Station shopping center. As an added bonus, Bliss Reflexology is in the same shopping center as A&J restaurant and Duck Donuts. I was about to buy their groupon so I called to see if that had an appt right away. Luckily they did but she said for $10 more you get a real massage (clothes off) instead of just acupressure with your clothes on. I says sure thing and go in. Nice and quiet inside, very clean and friendly welcome. Paperwork takes no time at all and even though I was early they let me in quick. The real massage gets you a private room and the woman came in promptly. She was an assassin with those elbows of hers!! I have a ton of knots in my lower back and other places in was unaware of and she attacked them with a kindness and tenacity that you rarely experience. Strong fingers and a deft touch really worked out my kinks. They threw in a hot stone massage which was incredible and she got on my back and wailed away with her knees. Bliss is very clean, good aroma scent an pleasant music. The masseuse are very professional an with a little direction they will work on the spots you want. The price $50 which is reasonable just need to tip the masseuse between $10-20. I buy the multi plan available either a package of 5 or 10. Bought my son a massage for the holiday as this has been the case for years. I have been to Bliss and have sent others there as well. In the past it hasn't been the best, but not the worst either. Definitely a high drive for tips however. My mid 20 year old son was very upset afterwards. Multiple times he removed the male masseuses hands from his private area (not just the groin) for the masseuse to then move HIS hand back and remove my sons hands. Son told him no, Masseuse did not listen. Son was stunned, embarrassed and didn't know what to do. Upon departure he was very pressured (TOLD) to leave a tip. He just wanted to get out of there so just quickly gave them money to get out. When he got home he told me to never go there again or send his sisters there either and explained what happened. Together we called the store, they denied it happened. They then spoke with the masseuse. Then called me. The manager and staff denied it happened and that it has never happened before at their place, and that the masseuse was doing acupressure. Even if acupressure, as they want to claim, shouldn't the masseuse stop a therapy the client asks the masseuse to stop??? It was an inappropriate touching, plain and simple. Cannot deny or excuse it. Beware. Thanks for ruining his Christmas present Bliss and causing trauma. Oh yeah, as I am writing this review, it seems Bliss refunded my money. Good, it can go towards his therapy. Very satisfied with the service I get from this massage spa. I got the six massage package for a very responsible price. I have also come across the absolute Best massage therapist, Daisy. Daisy is hands down the best massage therapist there! She is professional, takes her time and doesn't rush through your session. She is attentive and does a good job knowing which muscles/areas of the body that need more attention. She also has a special treat towards the end of your session consisting of using moist hot towels to wrap/warm your feet.
