Her portable professional massage table is sturdy yet comfortable, and she always brings fresh linens to keep me covered and warm. She uses a combination of traditional and Thai massage techniques, and focusses far less on minutes than on making sure I have a relaxing and peaceful massage experience. She's extremely knowledgable and experienced, even with special cases, like my wife, who has a spinal cord injury and required a different treatment than your average massage patient in order to feel relief from pain and stress. Gayle has a very pleasant, easy-going personality and is a pleasure to get to know. She's also great with kids, in case you have little monsters running around like we do. Once in a while we go over to her home-based clinic. It's recently renovated, totally accessible, has free parking and even a sauna. The physiotherapists in the clinic are knowledgable, nice, and genuinely concerned with your ailment. I have Cystic Fibrosis and they even did some extra research on their own time (in between my appointments during the week) and found medical journal articles related to CF and it's affects on arthritis and joints, etc. Far above and beyond what most physiotherapists would ever do for their patients. A few months after my last review, I decided to give them another chance and things were going well…read moreuntil I made an appointment here to treat myself for my birthday. Secretly my partner went in the day before and paid for it plus left a tip, telling the guy to let me know afterwards it was taken care of. I attended my appointment, the foot reflex good but decided I would not do a massage again. The beds are separated by curtains so you hear everything others are talking and it's not very relaxing. On top of that the lady didn't understand English very well and didn't have good technique. After my appointment finished I paid for it and went to see my partner. He asked how it was and I let him know it was ok. He asked if there was anything more. I said no I had my appointment, paid and left. Then he told me he actually paid for it even left a tip! I immediately contacted the establishment and the owner/manager looked into it and said oh yeah sorry about that and actually laughed. I was furious! I let him know it wasn't funny and would be coming back to get a refund since they double charged me. When we showed up the owner/manager said he could just refund my card so I didn't need to come back. My partner let him know that they ruined the surprise and it was bad business to double charge customers. The owner/manager apologized but didn't really seem to care. Sadly this was the last straw for me. If a business tries to pull one over on a good customer that attends each month and try to get away with double charging then not be sincere or even attempt to rectify an upset customer, well, they do not deserve my business. I frequent reputable places that treat their customers with respect and consideration.
