My whole family gets/have gotten haircuts here from Mr. Greg Dobrasz and he is awesome. Super nice…read moreguy, very bright and gives GREAT haircuts at reasonable prices. The space is really cool and laid back - it's got electric art and all sorts of music coming through the speakers depending on which stylist is choosing the music. Cannot recommend the spot and Greg more!

Is it over the top to say that this is the hair I've been dreaming of for my entire adult life?…read moreMaybe, but it's pretty dang close to accurate. I was admittedly a little wary of Jessica. I mean, I had just heard *too* many great things, and I am hella picky with my hair. There was no way she could live up to expectations, so I tried to keep them tempered. But sweet Jesus, total girl crush. First: Dada itself is a small cozy shop... complete with a disco ball and David Bowie over the waves. Major, major props for that. I loved the big antique comfy chairs and homey atmosphere: nothing obnoxiously trendy, no Lady Gaga booming out of the speakers. Exactly the kind of salon I'd put together if I had the means/creativity/desire. Oh, and I can walk from my house. Doesn't get any better. But then there's Jessica. First of all, she's an absolute dreamboat. I love love love when I envy my stylist's hair, and hers I most definitely did. But when I walked out of the salon I've got to admit that I envied no one's hair, because mine is perfect. I have asked for truly red hair for years, even using terms like "orange," "bright," and "vermillion" that others may typically shy away from. But I typically walk out with the same 'do, a lovely strawberry shade that is all parts pretty but no parts badass. Now, my hair is the perfect combination of both. Jessica was sure to explain the maintenance that comes with red hair which I appreciated and I feel like she really did her best to make my hair look stellar without it being crazily cost-prohibitive. I felt totally at ease in Jessica's chair, and after three hours felt like I had just spent the afternoon chatting with a great friend than having an awkward stumbling conversation with a total stranger. If you're looking for something different and innovative, I recommend Jessica with all that I've got. She's the first stylist in Atlanta with whom I really, honestly, truly look forward to having a repeat visit. Atlanta, I can now officially stick around. I've found a hairstylist even better than my love in DC, and that's a big freakin' deal. Thanks to my kajillion friends (and Yelp!) that recommended her.

If you're a curly head, please reconsider your life choices and go find a curly salon. If you want…read morea tousled, retro look and restyle your hair everyday, maybe you'd like this. But expect to have your haircut decided for you not with you. I have shoulder length hair I was trying to grow back out. I said I wanted to keep length but clearly needed some help with dimension and layers from a early pandemic self-cut. Leah had already decided what she was doing. The wash was fine, but then she used a towel to tightly pull my hair against my scalp (a major curl no no). The initial layering would have been fine, but then without checking with me, she started twisting large sections of my hair and razoring them!! I was horrified. I knew she went too high and I would end up with awkward short pieces around my scalp and that not paying attention to my curl pattern meant I would end up with ringlets that look like they've been hacked. She then diffused while tightly scrunching my top curls and shaking out the rest. I wear my hair in it's natural tight ringlets, not tousled out, so this didn't provide a realistic assessment of the cut. After washing it at home and letting it curl naturally, I've had to trim quite a few legging ringlets and have found I have a some wierd short curls around the top layer that I'm not loving.

I highly recommend visiting Akasa to see Danny! He is very friendly and talented…read more I went in to get a haircut with him for the first time, and he did a wonderful job. I usually give the stylist very general guidelines to work with (desired length and no bangs) and let them do the rest. My family and friends that have seen my haircut have given me compliments left and right. If you want a detail oriented stylist who cares about making you look your best, go see Danny.
