I really enjoyed my experience at the Cherry Blossom salon. I just moved to Atlanta and came here because of the positive reviews and they really didn't disappoint. Scheduling was easy online and it requires a deposit but that is applied towards your final bill. Honestly so efficient to plan into my busy day. Vanessa was my hairstylist and I went in for a cut and style. I really just gave her the vibe and she already knew what I wanted and really did a great job! My friend suggested this place after getting a major chop. Since I wasn't happy with my prior hair cut, I figured what better time to check them out. Looking for only a cut, I opted for the $50 cut with any stylist. Shelby was my hairdresser and she was so kind, funny, and meticulous. The Worst place to go for Highlighting of Hair. A prior reviewer lamented how the people here "do not listen" to the customer. The same thing happened to me. The stylist (Cameron) not only failed to give my hair any highlights (as I had specifically requested prior to and during my appointment), she also tried to claim that if I looked at my hair in the sunlight (rather than their streaked mirrors), the highlights would (magically?) appear! I've attached a photo taken immediately after a visit to Cherry Blossom showing that no highlights of any kind are visible. The cashier obviously agreed with the lack of highlights in my hair yet charged me full rate and told me I could "return in two weeks for a free service". Are they kidding? Go back? Never. It would be $100 cheaper (with better outcome) to buy a bottle of Revlon or Clairol Highlighting product and do it myself. Don't waste your money or time going here. [As a side note: they don't have any type of hair heaters to help set product - so the colorist placed a folded towel (yes folded!) on top of my head - believing by doing so that would help set the dye....OMG, the warning lights to flee from this salon began at that moment...and never stopped.) read more

The ladies are all very lovely people but the service and 5 hours later. My hair looks like I fell in bronzer. Looked better than walking in. I can't say I will ever recommend anyone coming here. Want to get gaslighted? stay away. These are the type thY blame the client for not expressing clearly, yet when they reiterate what I need we are on the same page. Yet the results are far from it. I should've told them they are we wrong in the process. I dont care if I'm not a stylist, I've gotten my hair done in one sweep that look like the ref. Here are some more excuses I typically hear from bad places "it's the lighting in here" 'it's just a different art form" "it'll lighten up later" "I promise you'll look good when you get home" Or some comment on why our eyes are wrong. Or try to play it off like itll be good. They still got their money. I even told them that I had a horror story and guess what? it's The same outcome. They put it on the client for not knowing what they need. All I see is what they haven't done they haven't asked the questions Rather took on something far off. If an image couldn't express what I needed then it's evidently the skills and ego of another stylist that claims they know. Just stop an hear what im asking for. I should've walked out there and not pay. Horrific. Did I ever use the word brass? Yeah blame the client for their lack of understanding on hair. Never trust this business. This is also leaving out every detail I described to them, interactions and the stylists. I do believe in saving clients from coming to a place that advertises what they clearly don't know. It started off fine then after the blow dry I noticed it was so dark. The manager then redid my hair. What you see is the 2nd time. At the end when she said "you'll like it it'll lighten up"and "do you use purple shampoo? it'll help with when it becomes brassy " I knew it was horrible. It's already brassy. Even the way one of the ladies blow my bangs. Its like, just give me the hair dyer, I blow my hair better than this. Does my hair truly have dimension? no. but sure we can say it's a different creative expression. They went to school for it. This isn't and shouldn't be the end of their creative growth. They just stop growing. Ironic. This result is amateur at best and it looks like I could've just bought carmel hair coloring and do it for $8. I'm actually quite appalled fuming with anger by the waste of time and money. I wish I never walked in here today. They should Go find a wig to do artist expressions just not on my hair ever. read more

I asked for a caramel reddish balayage, with a money piece that was lighter than everything else, with both being very blended. The outcome was quite unexpected. I honestly had a lot of trust in this place because it had such great reviews and pictures. The hair dresser did not ask many questions, but I thought I gave enough information to her for her to deliver what I wanted. Unfortunately, my hair did not come out how I thought it would; it's not blended, nor is it quite the color I wanted. Although the staff were very nice, the most important part of a hair salon - fulfilling what was requested - was just not there. Like shown on the picture of my balayage, my hair looks like streaks of different colors, no blend. As you can see on the picture of my money piece, they are two different colors. Everyone was super friendly and the salon was cute, but I scheduled men's and women's haircuts online with "first available stylist" for myself and my sister, and for some reason they scheduled both with the same stylist, so the appointment took twice as long. We had Cameron, who was very sweet but seemed relatively new to cutting straight Asian hair, which both my sister and I have. I'm sure she's better with other textures, but if you have straight hair, I can't recommend. It felt like she didn't understand what either of us asked for. I only got a wash & blowout/style, but my experience was good! I was worried, because I scheduled it and the day of, they texted asking to push later as they were running behind. I had an event so I couldn't go later. They did get me out only about 10 minutes later than I needed. I think maybe someone didn't show up? Regardless, they were very nice and stylist did a good job. I went a few times. 3 out of 4 times I was happy. The last time I went was for color. The stylist applied the color then handed me off to an assistant who 1. put shampoo on dry hair and scalp and rubbed it in despite me telling her and her replying it was fine and 2. took the foils off too soon leaving me with darker hair than I'd previously gotten there and tinted orange. The stylist never checked my color in the foils, didn't check before toner was applied and only came to talk to me when I complained. The assistant had no oversight until I wasn't happy. The stylist and manager tried to gaslight me and tell me it was very blonde and would get better with washes (it got more orange) and the manager said they'd correct it if I came back within 2 weeks - but only the parts near the roots that weren't damaged. Clearly the fact that color was put all over my hair didn't matter since they were only willing to fix part of my hair? I'm giving 2 stars because I think if an experienced stylist did the work it would have been fine. But because of the lack of supervision, the gaslighting and failure to stand by all the work that was done in that salon I won't be going back. If you do go, I'd recommend not allowing an assistant to do anything that requires more expertise since the supervision was non-existent. read more

My cut with Dee was over the top good; from the conversation to the actual quality of the cut I was blown away. I hadn't cut my hair in years, and it showed. I thought I liked the way it looked overgrown, but Dee gave me a cut I could feel confident about both then and now, 2 months later. Unfortunately, I was one that walked away with worse hair than when I came in (the worse hair damage I've ever experienced). The salon team members themselves were pleasant with good attitudes, but my hair and final outcome was a complete disaster. I came in for a balayage, which I had to do twice due to my hair color being dark. I was fine with that, but within a week the irreversible damage started to rear its ugly head. 1. My color (which turned orange) and technique looked nothing like the pictures I brought in; 2. My hair turned stiff and hay-like, my hair texture was no longer recognizable; 3. For the next several months, I had incredible dryness and tangling and hair fallout (ended up about 4-5inch shorter and thinner from the damage; but I really needed to cut most of my hair off). At the time of remedy, they offered 1 Olaplex treatment and we reverted my hair back to dark. They have a no refund policy but it is a bit disheartening that they didn't offer not a single penny of the close to $1000 I spent with them but that is the risk we take (as good business practice, I personally think refunds should be discretionary especially if it's THEIR mistake; fortunately, I'm now with a stylist that would agree). The biggest takeaway from all this is DO your research (I did) and GO with your gut instinct when in doubt (I didn't)! read more

TLDR; didn't like my color (way too dark) they refused to fix it despite their policy listed online, told me off on the phone for asking for it to be fixed. Not worth the $300 you spend. Attached are the pictures of what I asked for vs what I got. (Dark orange brown hair is me, pretty blonde girl is what I asked for. I came here for my second time recently. I came in with icy blonde hair and left with brown (100% not what I asked for). My stylist and I looked at a reference picture I had on my phone, multiple times, during my appointment to make sure she understood what I wanted. I'm sure the colorist did her best, so I will not be mentioning her name to bash her (plus, she is a super nice/cool person), but it came out super dark and not at all what I wanted. I tried to see if I could adjust to the color, since I don't like complaining. After 3 days, I just didn't feel like myself. Per their website they will "be happy to correct it (the color) with no additional charges" if you "are having challenges with your cut or color". I emailed them and told them I was having a hard time adjusting to it and it felt too dark. I received an email back telling me, essentially, too bad that's what you asked for. I called them and spoke with Vanessa, the manager. I explained to her that I showed a picture that we referenced about 5-6 times during my appointment so there is no way I asked for this. I tried to explain that I was just asking for what their website says they do. I assumed they stood by their work. Vanessa proceeded to yell at me and tell me off. She said she heard me ask for this (though she was not there that day multiple people had told me). And that they did what I asked for so they wouldn't fix it. I explained to her what their website said and said I wasn't complaining about the stylist, that it was just darker than I wanted and I would like it to be fixed. (My boyfriend heard the conversation on speaker phone and told me not to go there because with the way the MANAGER was speaking to me, they would retaliate and totally mess my hair up). After 10 minutes of her yelling at me, I asked to speak with the owner. She told me the owner wasn't in so I asked if she could call me tomorrow. Vanessa goes "yep" and hangs up on me. 5 minutes later the owner called me. She told me, just as Vanessa did, their website is wrong. They don't fix your color if you don't like it. They will "only fix it if your hair is pink or green". What?? I tried to explain where I was coming from and how pink, green, or brown, it shouldn't make a difference. Eventually she ended up telling me I could have my money back. They don't stand by their work, if your hair doesn't come out the way you want they won't fix it. I have never spent $300 on my hair just to be yelled at, told I'm wrong, and tough luck. Definitely will not be returning here. There are more affordable salons in the area that will do what you want, and fix it if you aren't satisfied. Update!!! Owner called me very quickly after I posted this review. She yelled at me the whole time, expressing her frustration with my review. She wanted me to take it down. She told me that because she refunded my money the situation was done and I shouldn't post my review. She said that she was going to respond and say I am lying, I told her I would post text message screen shots between us to prove I'm not, to which she said "please don't." Be very careful doing business here. I have a feeling there aren't many bad reviews because she has people remove them. read more

I am so thankful to have came across this salon and my girl Alex for it being my first and ONLY place in Atlanta i trust with my hair. A few months ago, my agency suggested i cut my hair for a more commercial look and it was such a hard thing for me to do but I stumbled across this salon and got Alex and i am forever grateful because not only did she give me such a great hair cut but she made me comfortable the entire time while i was emotional cutting them off. It grew over the months but today, i wanted it even shorter and she ended up giving me a bob! I can't believe how much i love it and the energy release i feel getting rid of all that hair. I've been coming here since I moved to Atlanta in 2018, and really loved it. It used to have excellent service and communication between the staff and customers. I don't know what happened, and I suspect it has to do with the pandemic l, but service has really gone down hill in the last year. A lot of stylists keep leaving. I've been having trouble finding a new stylist to stick with, after my Stylist Dee died in a traffic accident. Twice, the people who have cut my hair since then have moved on to other salons. What irritates me is that I had an appointment with a stylist I was going to start seeing consistently, and instead of being notified that she had left, giving me the option to cancel or reschedule with someone else, they gave me a new stylist of the same name, (was I supposed to not notice it was a different person?) without telling me. I had to work around my busy schedule, so when I was there, I felt coerced into taking this appointment I wasn't sure I was ready for. The stylist was nice and capable, but it can be difficult getting the same look when three different people have been cutting your hair, and each time is a different person. Consistency is a huge thing when it comes to hair cuts. In the past, cherry blossom salon always let me know when my stylist couldn't make it, or was no longer available. But this time? They didn't even care to tell me. To be honest, I regret getting my hair done this last time I went. The customer service has really gone down hill. Don't get too attached to your stylist -- they might leave and you won't know until you've shown up for your next appointment. It's extremely sus that the turnover rate is so fast. I'm not sure what to make of it, but be aware. read more

I walked by Cherry Blossom Salon on my way to 8ARM one morning and decided on a whim to set up an appointment with them. My hair was in need of a cut with the back of my medium-length bob starting to stack it's way out to space. They were able to pencil me in early that afternoon with their creative color specialist Kathlyn. She is an amazing stylist and extremely friendly. Kathlyn takes her time and makes an effort to get to know you. I have not used her coloring services, but I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed. The salon has an industrial feel to it with the concrete floor, exposed brick, and metal and wood touches. They have a sitting area in the front where you can wait for your appointment while reading magazines and drinking cucumber water. read more

I really appreciated the time that Jessica and later Karney took to make sure that I was happy with the color of my hair. Jessica was patient with me and helped to explain how some of the processes worked. She also helped me understand how things like a Brazilian Blowout works (I will definitely be back for this). Although I was expecting more layers, both ladies explained why with ombre coloring it really would mess up the effect and having longer layers would be best. I appreciated being educated by them and not just told "no you don't want to do that." I'm the kind of person that always wants to know the why and the information about how things work and I really never had to ask as they seemed to care that I understood the why for everything. Dee did the most amazing job with my hair and got it to the most unreal platinum shade! She's the BEST and I not only loved how my hair turned out, but I also loved hanging with her during my appointment. She was super clear on what the process and cost would look like to getting my hair to where I wanted it to be and I really appreciated that. There are few times I've been as thrilled walking out of a salon as I was after visiting Dee at Cherry Blossom. Cherry Blossom is being very safe and adhering to health guidelines, masks at all times, sanitizer readily available, and distancing adhered to. They also have plexiglass separators at their washing stations, for extra safety! Their pricing is really reasonable compared to a lot of the salons in Atlanta (ex some of the "insta famous" ones that charge practically double or triple the price of the same services) and their space is really cool / open. They're also not pushy about forcing products down your throat but make good recommendations for brands they like and trust. Highly highly recommend! read more

I've had several stylists here and they've all done a great job. In addition, I came here with my wedding party for all of us to get our hair done. Some got their makeup done as well. All the stylists did a great job and we all looked great! The girls had half-up curled hair. Jamie did my hair (a clean curled updo) and it was beautiful!!! I came here once on a scoutmob deal and was blown away. Awesome cut color and service from Lindsey. Came back a few more times and spent a lot of hard earned money on color and cuts. I came back a couple weeks ago, and my stylist was no longer there. Got one of the new girls. I asked for a trim (I have tight curls and have been growing then it a long time.) and to keep as much length as possible. I repeated this several times. By the time I was done, 3 or 4 inches of my straightened hair was hacked off! Curly, I have this soccer mom haircut that I DESPISE. I was livid. I've been upset every time I look in the mirror. I will be that way for a long time. I've even refused going out or going to events because of how bad this cut looks on me. I had short hair during a horrible experience in my life, and keep it long for a reason. Stylists need to listen, instead of doing what they think best. Now, I'm forced to look at my freaking hair and remember what I don't want to every single day. I'll never forgive Mrs Edward scissor hands for this. This is one of the best hair appointment I had in years!!!! My hair stylist Vanessa made me so comfortable through my first appointment. She took my very dark black hair color to a caramel color using the balayage technique. It looks so natural, healthy and soft. She also cut some layers in the front and knew how to frame my face.
