This review is long overdue... William has been keeping my beard and long hair stylish and current for 3 years. After moving from California, I search in vain for a beard and men's stylist with an eye for what works and what doesn't. If you have a full beard or long hair, William should be your hair guy. What I like is that he knows me, how my hair grows and what look I'm going for.... Definitely a step up from trendy barbershops that give you a shot of whisky, but have no clue who you are or what you like/need. There are some studio 31 representers in the house! Including myself, I see Anita for all my hair needs but there are other excellent members here. Everyone has their own established clientele base. Refreshments offered: white wine, red wine, water, soda, coffee, infused water cucumber mint. There's Cocktails that looks like a bath bomb, to give you a Fizzy cocktails, they have vodka here too. There's instructions, but you may have to ask for the vodka There are Two men And Two women restrooms. The restrooms are a little dim inside so don't expect to fix your makeup perfectly. Across is a room to change into shmocks. There are extra hangers for your coat. Since it's a little chilly outside right now. There is ample parking since they share with other businesses they neighbor with. There are 3 shampoo girls, and a tip jar across from the shampoo booths. Two chairs on each side for waiting assembly to get a wash. Looks like they're Adding on to upstairs for stylist. They have like over 30 stylist here. Wowza! Other services offered are: Brow waxing, tinting, make up- inquire at the front There's an atm machine inside too. Fish tank is cool addition to help form a wall to separate waiting area. From other stylist. Every stylist is independent contractor but everyone is scheduled in front With booking system. Everything is Cohesive with front desk. Great products/ High end products -Kieratase -oribe -Living proof Products can be bought at front desk, hair oils, carry more high end products. Even make up is offered. Opening and closing hours are 9-7pm. Wow. If you made it this far, I'll now share that I've seen Anita for the last 10 years. Shes up to date on hair stuff. I follow her on Instagram, (@hairbyanitat) she recently is doing a giveaway for products. I could book online through her site as well which is super convenient for me. Amazing Salon! The new salon is spacious, classy and relaxing. Parking is not a problem . I have been going to Lawrence for 10 years. He is the best for short, sassy hair styling. After I was wash and dry my hair I just need to fluff it with my fingers and ever hair falls into place! Lawrence spends at least an hour cutting and styling your hair and its $80. (I actually think he should charge more!) If there is something wrong with my cut , I call him and he does a recut. His coloring technique I are also amazing especially highlights with lowlights. He has a front private station with big windows and mirrors. Very nice . Wine if you are ready to relax...,, If you are willing to trust Lawrence with your cut and don't mind paying a bit more then I highly recommend Lawrence at Satori Salon. My experience here with Spencer was amazing! The salon itself is huge and very beautifully laid out. I went in for a cut and color. I told spencer what I had in mind for coloring and she quickly had an idea of what to do. She told me what she had in mind for the cut as well and how it would work for my face shape, which I appreciated. The whole process was much quicker than I expected, usually I'll spend 5-6 hours at the salon. But with Spencer, I spent about an hour less and my hair was lighter than I usually go. We had a really good conversation and she'd also explain what she was doing to my hair as she went. I'm super low maintenance when it comes to hair; I don't really even comb it if I'm being honest. But I'm still in love with my hair weeks after my appointment with her. All in all, Spencer is awesome and I highly recommend her! Can't wait to go back :) read more

I've been seeing Anita since Studio 31 for 5 years and counting! Very personable and sweet - She is an absolute master of color, traveling nationwide to teach as part of TIGI. Several years ago, I was (and am still) rather lazy about fashion/grooming but figured I should at least put some effort into my hair. I scoured the internet for a stylist who I could trust, give me direction, and a deft hand in cutting Asian hair. I found Anita on Groupon and adored the balayage work she had done on Yelp. I love the caramel balayage she painted on my hair - natural looking, complementing beautifully with my black hair, and low-maintenance. Anita used high lift and no bleach. Saw joe farina for cut and color over my dark brown hair roots with some grays and grown out balayage. Asked for a dark golden brown single process. Got an orange tawny medium brown that looks okay from a far but In bright light is very uneven with the roots being much lighter and reddish tone than the rest of the hair. She's a great active listener who asks questions to understand what you really want. She also know how to balance what you ask for vs what is realistic. I had asked for an ashy balayage at one point but she talked me out of it since she knew the level of maintenance needed didn't match up with what's required. Today was my first time at this salon. I love that they had complimentary coffee and wine for my morning. I had an appt with Anita for a balayage at 9am. Lets just say my hair is every hairdresser nightmare. It's long, thick, dark and porous. I have been to many Instagram famous hair stylist and I have to say she gave me the best result and still treated my hair with care. I went in as a walk in for a shampoo and deep conditioning treatment, was seated with Angel. In conversation I found out she was new, I wasn't expecting to get the absolute BEST head massage, and deep conditioning I've ever had! OMG is all I can say. Satori is a wonderful salon. It reminded me of my days in New York and Los Angeles, when going to a salon was an experience. It's located in unassuming area, within an adorable parking lot. Jennifer at the front desk is pleasant and has a wonderful disposition. Rocco, Rocco, Rocco simply rocks. He took me from drab to fab. After tons of shedding after my baby, I thought I had few if any choices for my thinning, damaged hair. I now know that regardless of what state my hair is in, I can count on Rocco to bring me back from the dead. My husband loves it and it's very easy to maintain. It drys quickly and is simple, yet fun to style. Although, I'm still battling shedding, I feel confident that Rocco can help me through this period in my life. Just trust in him and don't be afraid to take risks. He's straight forward with what he can and cannot do with your hair based on your looks, hair length, condition, etc. I value that in a stylist. My first time coming here & the colorist special Chelsea did my hair. She did a great job! I was so scared at first because my hair was blue green then black. I told her the color I wanted and literally eased my mind day and night with how the process will go. She continued to give me the reassurance every time I texted her. The day of she seated me immediately, and got to work. She was able to remove the color I perviously had and began the process of my desired color. She took her time with it and it came out perfect! Booked a haircut, style and makeup for my brother's wedding. I called ahead of time to confirm how long the services would take to make sure I had enough time. I booked my appointment but they ended up being over an hour late and the services took even longer. I made it to the wedding an hour late. My haircut was OK. I did not like my style. I asked for something completely different from what I got. Since they were an hour late on getting started, my stylist had to move on to another client and had someone else style my hair. My hair is curly and it was not brushed or smoothed out before styled and therefore by the end of the night I had extremely matted hair. My cut was also never checked. My hair stylist did offer me a free style for next time, however I will not be going back. Makeup services were good. They were very attentive and accommodating. read more

I just finished getting my bayalage done at Satori and I left with mixed feelings. Pros: The quality of work is superior than most I've seen. I can understand the high ratings based on quality of product alone. Cons: 1) My stylist Dora Lee was almost 1 hr late, after confirming an appointment 3 weeks in advance. I have a heavy schedule and really appreciate prompt service. 2) She never apologized or even mentioned the delay upon meeting me. In fact, she barely talked to me- she did mention going out the night before to another stylist. 3) Upon first reveal the tone turned out blonde instead of caramel as I had requested. The stylist said it looked better and tried to somewhat convince me to go with a new look. After some back and forth they retoned it and stated that is what I originally requested. Overall: I wanted to try something new and treat myself. I felt like I was a burden rather than an experience. I will not be coming back. read more

Had my first cut with Rocco today and I'm so glad I found this place. I've been trying different high end salons for the last couple of years with similar results each time. Most places have focused solely on good coloring techniques or hair extensions, neither of which I do. So finding a place that can cut has been really hard. I have been going to Nancy for years. She is wonderful. Now that she is sick they suggested I have Noel do my hair. He was horrible. He ask me what I wanted and didn't do anything I said. I have short hair and just wanted a trim. The cut is nothing like I said. If you have short hair you know there is nothing you can do to hide the worst haircut I've ever had. He acted like he was so much better than me. It started out with him having my hair washed before he even saw my hairstyle. I can't believe a salon like Satori has him there much less recommending him. I will never go back read more

UPDATE: So Huy reached out to me after my previous review . He initially wanted to put a base color in and do a treatment for me. And then allow my hair to rest and then redo the highlights. I had really bad damage from the bleach (x2) so I decided I only wanted a conditioning treatment and then I could decide on the color later. He did the treatment for me, which saved my hair!! I've posted pictures of my hair after treatment. I am thankful my hair isn't falling out anymore BUT this whole process has been difficult . Long story short, the communications between Huy and I have just been too time consuming and much of a headache. I understand that reviews are important for your business but you don't go retracting your rectifications (fixing my hair) and accusing your client of expecting "too much for free" , especially when I offered to pay for all the services. I probably shouldn't have even offered because all the mistakes were made on his end. Anyways, he's a super nice guy and very easy to talk to. and from what I can tell, wants his clients to be happy and holds pride in his work but in all honesty, I need a better listener as a hair stylist. Yes, I have expectations that the job be done right, and yes, the first time. Don't we all?? I am still not 100% satisfied with the color. The front is too blonde, one side is more blonde than the other and when my hair falls naturally, you can see the clear separation from back to front. However, I'm sticking with the color mainly because I don't want to go through this process again and will just have to maintain styling my hair daily to blend the color As Huy said, we all make mistakes, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt he was having a bad few days. Amazing salon!! This place is so relaxing and everyone here was super friendly. Their shampoo beds, yes I said beds, are heaven!!! Rocco Rivera never lets me down and always impresses me with his work, as I am very particular with my hair and he always leaves me with beautiful healthy hair. I come here for two folks: Tom and Noel. Tom is the only person I trust to color my hair. He's also super honest about what I should and shouldn't do. I've once approached him with this ash blonde color I'd like. He looked at the color and said "Sandy, you know that's basically grey, right?!" I know others would have just colored my hair whatever I asked for and then tell me "it was your choice." Luckily, with Tom, I don't have to worry! I also do not come in as often as I should and because he knows that, he advises me to color and look that works for lower maintenance. Super thoughtful! Noel! Just like with my color, I also don't visit Noel as much, but I am super happy every time I see him! He literally will cut off however many inches you request. I never leave regretting how my hair looks and I love it! I will definitely see them more this year since I have a lot of activities coming up. read more
