This appointment was a waste of my time and money. Starting off, I asked for a water and my stylist forgot to get it for me. I brought my own extensions to be put in and they were placed horrendously. My curls were loose and disorganized. They tried charging me an additional $15 for an extended blowdry, but I was finished in under an hour. The stylist did end up removing this charge. I had to pin my hair back to blend my extensions and re-curl every piece of hair. I then felt a crunchy section of hair at the nape of my neck and I realized this was because my stylist didn't fully rinse my hair....such a terrible service and experience. read more

Katie, Sonya, and Janeth are fantastic as well. Janeth also specializes in makeup so make sure to get a makeover with the her! The entire team works hard to ensure every client feels cared for. I've had a membership at Blo in Vernon Hills for about a year now. For me, having someone else do my hair, is just an easy way for me to really relax. I have longer hair and it's a lot of work, so these visits are a nice break. The best part though is this: I always walk away feeling heard and beautiful. I've seen various stylists since I started going and have yet to have a bad experience. I won't lie, I have my faves, but anyone you get will do an amazing job and give you an overall great experience. So far, everyone I've come in contact with who works there is kind, courteous, passionate about what they do, and truly cares about the clients and delivering what they want or need and at a VERY reasonable price to boot! read more

This was truly one of the best blow outs that I've ever gotten - so much so that I'm actually considering treating myself and getting that membership. With this being one of the only true blow out only places, I was nervous that I would get the same results as other blow out chains. My hair cannot hold curls so I never have high expectations. Except... I had curls ALL DAY after this blowout. I am truly amazed. The shop was really really quiet on a Sunday morning, which is also a nice welcome change from other places that I've gone. I do notice that they are consistently booked & have several people there at once, but it's nothing overwhelming. I really wanted to love this place since it's close to my home. I usually get my blowouts downtown. The few times I have booked an appointment here I have been disappointed. I've tried three different stylists and all three seemed to struggle with my hair and did not deliver the style I requested. In addition, they rush through the shampoo process when they're busy which is usually the point or main reason for getting my blowout. Recently, I did my hair and makeup for a birthday party and I should have just done my own makeup. The person doing my makeup was very nice but inexperienced. I requested a simple eye style that lifted my eyes and ended up with Smokey eyes that were uneven. My appointment also took forever, leaving me no time to redo my makeup. All in all, I wish they had experienced employees to deliver better quality services. read more

I booked an appointment for a custom updo and makeup services for a wedding. The girl doing my hair seemed to struggle for quite some time to get my hair up and then ended up calling someone over to help her. I don't have particularly long or thick hair but it took both of them to finish my hair. The final look was messy and the pins could be seen throughout. The same girl did my makeup and while she seemed more confident with my makeup, the finished look was not even close to what I asked for. I ended up leaving as soon as possible and redoing my hair and makeup at home. I will not return and would not recommend. read more

The owner of the establishment is unprofessional and abuses the membership program. I had a monthly membership and cancelled in June of 2024. Salon manager confirmed it was cancelled. This salon started randomly charging me again monthly in October of 2024. I brought it to their attention in December of 2024 and now in March of 2025 I am just getting refunded after multiple phone calls. The owner Julia never returned phone calls, and had her salon stylist call me back today to finally tell me they would refund my last payment. Stylists were all great, but be warned about the membership program, it's a scam and the owner is out to take advantage of you. read more

I was incredibly disappointed. My mom and I came in to get our hair styled for my engagement party. She wanted curls but left with absolutely none. My hair looked great when we left, however as the time passed, less than 3 hours later all the styling was gone, the blowout did not stay or the styling at all for the party. You could not tell at all that we had gotten our hair done. I was very disappointed with the experience and we were both so excited going into it. read more

Went to the VIP opening event here last night and my wife went on opening day. This location is stellar and this new plaza is truly one of a kind around here. New plaza, new buildout, super duper clean and super Inviting. The ownership team and franchise people were super pleasant and welcoming. This place seems to be set for super success with this location and model. My wife's hair looked amazing and she got to enjoy great company and a clean and fresh environment.
