Blo in Woodbridge has a high turnover and I 100% attribute that to bad management. They finally hire someone who is an actual certified hair dresser and then fire her before her probation period is complete, for made up reasons, and that seems to be the case for most of their new hires. it is not an environment where staff help each other, and the negative talk about fellow staff and clients when they walk out the door. if you're interested in going to a salon with professional, mature and skilled stylists, this not the place. read more

This place is so poorly managed. It's unfortunate, because they could be making much more money if they just had a proper booking system, and staff who are trained. My poor review is not with the actual "service", which I never received, but with the corporate structure. To book an appoint, one has to give a credit card for them to keep on file. This is something that I find obnoxious and I wasn't willing to do (given that I pay for everything either cash or Debit Card). I don't like using a credit card and don't carry one with me. So although I was there - at the salon, I couldn't book an appointment. On a matter of principle, I'll never go here. read more

I usually am the type to only post positive reviews because I figure nothing is perfect and everyone has their bad days but WOW in all my years working in salons I have never seen anyone be treated with such little respect as I was this morning. Never did I ever have anyone treat me so rudely. This review is strictly for the Rutherford location- nothing but positive vibes in Yorkville. Having worked at several popular & busy salons in Woodbridge over ten years, I tend to get my hair blow dried regularly. I injured my finger and was unable to do my own hair nor make an appointment that morning with a colleague so I decided to book with Blo. When I spoke with reception at 10am I was booked for 11:30am and told that the afternoon was open but that was their earliest appointment. I arrived at my appointment 9 minutes late because of a fender bender at the lights by the salon; their policy states if you arrive 10+ minutes late they may have to cancel the appointment and a $25 fee would apply. The receptionist greeted me well enough and when I asked if we were still ok to get started she said she would have the stylist come see me. This woman (the 'stylist') gave me negative vibes right away- and started saying "Uhhh- doing your hair will put me behind I am very busy". I asked if she was able to do my hair or not and she said no she would not do it. I said ok, as she rudely dismissed me walking away, and prepared to leave. Then the "stylist" proceeded to go and FINISH (smooth out blow dry, hair spray, apply finishing oil/product) the client BEFORE me. This woman wasn't even finished with the client booked before me yet refused to take me? Why? I literally watched her finish the client before me meaning she was not finished and was late herself. I received no apology from the stylist, no apology or alternative solution from reception.......I was actually called over and told I would be charged a $25 cancellation fee....How Nice! Luckily for me, I have many hair dresser friends and my hair was done this afternoon but my main concern was the absolute rude and dismissive way I was treated by the staff at his location. I had the worst experience ever. I normally don't write reviews but I think the owner needs to know what is happening at her salon. I asked for a blo out, With brushes and specifically no curls. They started to smooth my hair out with a blow dryer and then pulled out a curling iron. I said no curls please. She said don't worry you are going to love it. She curled my hair with a curling iron and when she was done told me I looked fabulous. I was disappointed with the fact that she clearly did not listen to me and took the easy way out, curling takes no time vs a good blo out. I hate when you leave a salon and they tell you how great your hair looks. How about do you like it? It was awful. This is not why I was only dissatisfied and will never return to this location. The entire time that I was getting my hair done the staff was complaining about the owner. I understand women like to gossip in salons, but this was beyond unprofessional and frankly I paid $50 to relax and have my hair done without having to listen to their life problems. They were complaining about how they get booked up after they close (a 15 min overtime) To be honest, I get people need to make a living and that's why I left a tip smiled and went on with my day. But I truly do feel the owner needs to know the lack of professionalism at her salon and clearly the lack of skill. If she didn't know how to do a blo out she should have just told me. read more

I went here before a wedding on a Saturday a few weeks ago. The "stylist" literally didn't use a brush to blow dry my hair at a Blo Dry Bar. My hair was still wet underneath because she didn't section my hair or use a brush to blow dry it. She just waved the hair dryer back and forth and complained I had 'so much hair.' Then she got a hair straightener and twisted the ends of my hair and scrunched them in her hands. And said she was done. It was an actual joke. I told her this wasn't even a hairstyle and she shrugged, put on her coat and left. Another stylist named Stephanie was about to leave but came and helped me because it was such a ridiculous situation. I ended up being an hour late for reception because I had to get my hair completely redone. They offered me no discount whatsoever. And when I emailed this salon afterwards no one responded to me. I went here because it's a franchise I trusted. It is a pathetic disgrace. read more

Made an appointment for Blo in Vaughan for my daughter and I picked my daughter up from work rushed over like a crazy person to be on time when I got there they didn't have either my daughter or I in the system. I called in early week to make sure we were in. As we waited there people were coming and going not a word was said to us until I asked then the girl said you are not in the system can't take you. How long would she have made us wait! What terrible customer service. Would not recommend if they don't know how to book appointments....So disappointed... Would never go back!!!!!!!!! read more

Went here recently with very low expectations as I've heard mixed reviews from friends who've been to other Blo locations... I'm glad I ended up coming here as they did a superb job and I was extremely happy with out my hair turned out. I chose one of their '7 blo styles' and it looked great on me. After a bad experience here, the manager reached out to ensure my satisfaction. While the first visit was disappointing in terms of the stylist not listening to how I wanted my hair styled. Alessandra listened to what I wanted and styled my hair wonderfully. I wish she had done it the first time so my hair looked good for my son's baptism photos and not the mess that is was!! Tips: Book your appointment early with buffer time because if the Salon is running late and don't let them rush your time. Tell them exactly what you want and insist on it. Much more comfortable visit the second time there. read more

My worst hair salon experience by far. I am not sure whether it was the aggressive and improper washing, the use of old and dingy brushes that caused severe breakage of my hair or the attitude of the "stylist" that left me disgusted. Not only was the environment completely unprofessional, it seemed I underestimated how bad a blow dry could go. I would never EVER come here again, even if I had to go weeks with dirty hair. Definitely not worth the stylist constantly using foul language and that I should go see a doctor because according to her, my hair is not normal (my hair is normal, it was your pathetic excuse for care of my strands that left it coarse and dry). Today I decided to try out blo for a glammed up blow out for my birtbday. I don't think I'd be returning back as my visit was uncomfortable. Upon my arrival, a girl assisted me, than told me to sit and wait as I was a little early. Another lady approached me with a book of styles and offered to take my jacket, which was very kind of her and she was very friendly. After waiting for my stylist, she than arrives and begins to wash my hair before style. Firstly, the general space of blo was very awkward. As for one, there was no background music, it was awkward. Secondly, someone was conducting a interview close to me in which all you heard was there conversation. Not private at all. And lastly, there was no warm/hot water. The stylist said "sorry its cold we have no hot water, it was busy today" my appointment was at noon. I don't think that was very acceptable whatsoever. So I got a cold, uncomfortable wash. During style, my stylist just simply made me feel awkward and uncomfortable. All she did was talk about herself. The worst part after spending $70, I had to redo my hair. My hair became a nest (as she teased it too much and I specfically said not to) I had to comb out my hair and re curl my hair. Overall experience was very poor. They need to work on management skills, assuring clients are comfortable and perhaps ensuring they have a bigger hot water tank. read more

Have frequented this location in the past and had excellent customer service. Came to the location today, as a walk-in client and was turned away from a blo dry due to understaffing and the fact that the manager refused to stay to help the other hairstylist who was currently working on another customer. No effort was made to accommodate me or keep my business by perhaps even offering a later time for a blow dry. Very disappointed. Will not be visiting this location again. read more
