this complex gave me issues from the get go. when I signed in 2019 Ellen was extremely unprofessional and rude. she sat there while my spouse at the time was reading through the lease and agreement and RUSHED him. to the point I had to speak up and tell her to back off, she didn't give us a preview of what we were getting ln to. mind you him and I had traveled from Colorado after packing a truck for two days by our selves and having a car break down on our way down we traveled 24 hours to get here then to meet Ellen who had no clue of the absolute exhaustion we had just endured. now I'm still here 4 years later with a new staff minus Judy, and it's worse. it's worse than Ellen and all her impatience and rudeness. at least I could say the pool was maintained back then, cannot say that now. handicappped parking is an issue because they allow people to park there without handicapped stickers... yet if you have an expired registration they will come for you with kickbacks from their towing company. it's a highway robbery to live here, and don't even get me started on the maintenance and the bugs. you want more pics I have them, and TONTI if you're seeing this, you had your chance to correct issues. you didn't and here we are and I'm putting it all on blast. We only toured this complex. It was ok. Open to the streets and not gated beside your building. There was a storm so the pool was not at its best and they were painting and doing some landscaping. We didn't like that you had to go to 3 different units to go to a certain gym. read more

This place has gone downhill over the past couple of years. Numerous vehicles have been burglarized recently and Block 24 has been completely non-responsive in implementing any security measures. The pool is often closed due to vandalism or other non-COVID reasons. Recently, they have failed to renew leases of long-time residents, based on "business decisions." These residents made the community feel like "home." It no longer feels that way. The office staff (ie-Ellen) is rude, clueless and completely void of compassion. Seriously...kicking out a single mom (who was never late on a rent payment) in the middle of a pandemic!!! On a positive note...the maintenance staff are great people who treat residents like family. read more

The old lady at the front was completely rude to me from the moment I walked in. She was on the phone with what sounded to be a tenant. She was just "blah" with them and didn't sound like she cared about what they were saying on the other end. When she hung up the phone, she sat back in her chair with one hand holding up her head and looked at me and said, "What's up?" What's up?! Seriously?! How about, "Hi, how may I help you?" No, I was not there to move-in, I was on a adventure for work to connect with the outside neighborhood. Still! You should be nice to EVERYONE that walks through your door. You are representing your company just as much as I am representing mine when I interact with you. Thanks to the ole gatekeeper at the front, I would never consider living at these apartments or refer a friend to them if I ever needed to be on the hunt. read more

Got an apartment at Block 24 for 6 months. Ellen gave me the best apartment I think I can get at the block. I didn't even check out my apt, but Ellen assured me there will be new paint and carpet. Say no more and I signed same day. My two bedroom apt is on the first floor on the outer edge of the apartment next to the playground. My garage, parking, and dumpster is super close. The community is quiet, small and more family oriented. I work late at night and never see anybody outside after mid nite. If you want party apt you should go somewhere off 75. But all in all Block 24 is the best apt complex in the Garland/Richardson area. read more

We had high hopes when we went to tour the apartment. The customer service was horrible. We had a bit of a discrimination incident (the attitude towards us and white couple was starkly different) and all I asked the manager was for an acceptance of fault and an apology...I am still waiting. After looking into the matter with Better Business Bureau, I am glad we didn't consider living there. I couldn't read many of the complaints because of the time they were filed at, but I've concluded that there are better options. read more

The staff here is professional and they really have your best interest at heart. They take care of their residents and they make staying here feel like home. She always remembers names and makes each interaction personalized, caring, and simple. **I worked a lot with Krista and if you decide to make this your apartment home, go see her! - They allowed me to pay my bill online. - I could easily do any maintenance request online and it would be completed in 24 hours. - They have 3 workout rooms...one near each set of buildings. - My packages NEVER got lost when they were dropped off at the office. - There are NO BUGS! - No noise from neighbors. **Service is awesome and I would give them 10 stars if I could. read more

Where shall I begin.... I lived at Block 24 for 5 years. The first 2 years was amazing! They went above and beyond for tenants! Slowly I noticed the great staff members were leaving one by one. This was the first thing I noticed. Within the 1st & 2nd year I had to call RPD on two suspicious guys passed out in a stolen car! Then the pool issues began. My 3rd, 4th and 5th year at Block 24 the nee issues began as in teenagers having sex midday, teenagers jumping the fence only to vandalize the pool before they left. Every weekend the cops would get called because Block 24 did nothing to secure the regulations and safety of the tenants. They simply did not care. At this point I noticed the pool was "closed due to a maintenance issue" more and more. You might be lucky to get 1 weekend per month. "We are waiting on a part" 2 months later still waiting on that part. Now I am into year 5... my car was broken into 3 times (parked in my assigned spot). My next door neighbors car was stolen. Then the neighbors allowing their dogs to climb in and out of their bedroom window to relieve themselves. One of my biggest issues was the guy living out of his garage and people coming in and out all hours of the night. Ironically, his mother works in the Block 24 office. Let me just say, I met and made amazing friends/neighbors! I had the BEST neighbors! We grilled and all of our children went to school together, played together. The pandemic hit! The winter freeze hit! We all stuck together! We helped one another through this very tough/sad time. It felt like a huge family! Then March 2021 came.. it was time for me to renew my lease. Which I had planned on doing. Ellen personally drives to leave a note on my door (she had no clue I was in my kitchen and saw her). I have a letter from Block 24 saying my lease is up and they are not letting me renew and we have 60 days to vacate. I drove straight to the front office crying and asking why? I had to make an appt with the new apt manager for her to tell me "we don't have to give you a reason." You and your 2 young children have 60 days to get out. Wow. Talk about devastation! My boys were crying! My neighbors were in disbelief! We were all so sad. This was our home & family. On a happy note, we visit and stay in constant contact with our Block 24 neighbors. We loved them and we them terribly. Its been 4 months since we moved. Life is very different. The only thing that still weighs on my mind is "this is how Tonti Properties treats their committed residents." Mr. Tonti is okay with this? Speechless. I lived at Block 24 for 2 years and 2 months. I loved the apartment complex. I had to move only because my lease was up. I still regret not renewing. I loved the interior and exterior, the maintenance is super speedy, very friendly and courteous. All of the office staff were super helpful and so very nice. The office Manager Patty is by far the best. She treats you like a person of importance and part of the apartment community not just a tenant or apartment number. I have visited 7 -10 apartments and there are none better in the Richardson or DFW area. Block 24 by far is the kindest group and best kept apartment complex I've dealt with yet! . I moved in January 30, 2018. I would say the apartments were pretty decent until about a Month ago. The ceiling in my bedroom started leaking.. I went to maintenance about it. They were slowful to fix but eventually the wall in my bedroom was patched up! Saturday 9/25/18, my ceiling started leaking again due to excessive rain, which means they did not fix correctly the first time. They just half ass patched up the wall. I called the office on Saturday no answered left a message for emergency maintenance... They called me back and said this was not an emergency.. Bull stuff it's raining in my bedroom... They came out of Monday looked at ceiling and beat on the roof... for the same thing to happen this morning! Bugs are getting into my apartment. No one I talk to seem to have a sense of urgency to fix this matter!! I have been overly patient on this matter, to no result. This is highly unacceptable!! I pay my rent online faithfully and on time every month, I should not have my ceiling linking on me while I sleep... read more

FELICIA MELTON has rewritten the popular catch phrase "Bye Felicia" to "Hi Felicia" in my book. Not to be corny but Felicia truly is the epitome of excellent customer service. Her professionalism, patience, mind-reading skills (knowledge of knowing what I needed without saying a word) and personable attitude made my transition pain free. I left the office with no worries of needing to double and triple check my checklist when it came to ensuring the move would go well. Felicia's follow up communications were very reassuring. As far as Block 24 Apts goes, the community is beautiful. Great location. Within walking distance to schools in case your child needs to be held accountable for not getting up on time to catch the bus because they were up secretly playing Fortnite after bed time. (Just me?)Block 24 Apts has several unit styles to fit any and all family types and personalities. The multiple amenities are for all ages. The grounds and trash bins( pet peeve of mine) are well kept. Maintenance is awesome. My request thus far were taken care of same day or less than 24hrs. Not to mention my new unit was ready before the anticipated date they were originally given. Huge shoutout to them as well. The response time of concerns were made timely. Examples, I was able to get a reserved handicap parking space for my husband. Parents of fur babies are held accountable. Block 24 isn't as amazing as what people keep rating this place. The truth is that there are bugs!! I have videos of my fiancé vacuuming up several Asian lady beetles. There are sooo many ant hills all around, and I have plenty of silverfish crawling all over the walls and floors of my apartment. Have had to get the exterminator to come twice for roaches. I've lived in 2 different Block 24 Apartments, and have had the same issue in both. As for the gym.. the water fountains don't work, and I wish there was more of a variety of workout equipment. The hot tub at the pool is always broken. I currently live in one of the lofts, and there has been construction under me the entire time I have lived here. It is very loud! For 4 months straight all I could hear was jack hammers. When I went on my tour I was told that the lofts were really noise resistant, because my last apartment here there was so much noise coming from the apartment above me. I think the apartments are stylish. I like that, but I definitely wouldn't say my apartment feels like a home. I don't think I'll be renewing my lease here for a 3rd year. read more

When I first moved in to this place I thought it was wonderful. I lived there almost 10 years. First in 16104 then in 13104. We needed to move out to a larger place so I found one gave 60 days notice spent lots of time talking to the office knowing that I was moving one month before my lease was up. There was no damage to the apartment at any time. And now they are taking me to collections over this. At one time I wanted to move back when my daughter and her son moved out but no longer. I would have recommended them to anyone but again no longer. I have spoke to many people who own and rent properties and they have confirmed with me that this is wrong in every way. I will no longer recommend these apartments to anyone. They are not fair and very ungrateful to their loyal tenets. Have called numerous time to fix this issue. They will not even csll read more

Absolutely love this apartment complex. I lived in a one bedroom unit for a year, and then transferred to a 2 bedroom after my lease was up. The staff in the office are extremely helpful and they went above and beyond to help ensure a smooth transfer for myself and my roommates. They property is kept tidy. Maintenance responds promptly after you put in a report. I haven't had any major issues with the complex. In my two years of living there I haven't had any problem with bugs. You are within walking distance of several places to eat (10% resident discount at Magic Cup!) I've recommended this apartment complex to 3 of my coworkers, and they've all moved in and have been extremely happy here. read more

I love living here. I am a Current resident. The only issue I have is that they never answer the phone. When they do I get out on hold for extended periods of time so I just end up hanging up and going to the office myself. They are super sweet in the office I think they just get really busy. It's really frustrating though thinking you can call to ask a quick question. Or cancel a maintenance request (I mark mine critical bc I have a 1 bathroom yet it always seems to take up to 48 hours then I end up fixing it myself...thanks Google) I'm still giving high marks bc I may have one issue every 5 or 6 months. This is a long overdue review. We have been living here over 3 years. We love it here. The reason I don't give 5 stars because I think that there is room for improvement to make it really 5 stars: - service here is great, really really great 5 stars service. I mean customer service at the office ( Krista and Sandra are very helpful) and maintenance and I am all about service. Everything that we need to be fixed was done in 12 hrs period and the guys done amazing jobs and very professional. There was one time we need emergency service and the guy came even though it was storming. We trust them so much - amenity is really nice. We have moved to different apartments within the complex from 1 bed room to 2 bedrooms and we are very happy. The rooms are well constructed. Big closets and bathroom and very spacious. I am very happy with 2 bedroom we are living in now because it feels like a home. For the money, it is well worth it. - it is very quiet at the block. Not so many crazy kids. It's clean and airy. Most of people here are family or professional work make it feel less chaotic. - and now is room for improvement: * I don't like carpet so it's a minus for me. ( but they clean the carpet every year so it's not so bad!) * staff needs to make round more often to prevent those crazy kids damage the pool and other amenities, keep it clean and nice (we lived by the pool before so we have seen it all) * policy needs to be reinforced for those who violate the privacy and those who don't know the limit. Especially pool area( laughing, yelling, party at 4,5 clock in the morning, seriously people need to sleep) and parking!!! Over all, we are very please to live here and highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a nice and safe apartment. I moved in a little over a month ago, and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these apartments. I worked primarily with Ellen on my move-in as well as Destiny and Felecia and they were all an absolute Joy! I literally bugged them everyday until I actually moved in, and they treated me like family. I would recommend them to any and everyone. They are spacious, warm, and very inviting. All of my friends are just about ready to move in. Since I've been here, The Block 24 Apartments have given off nothing but good vibes. Judging from the location I was really surprised at how quiet they are too. Its family friendly, animal friendly, and in the center of it all. I literally could not tell you if its better suited for young professions, elders, or families, because the apartments are so well balanced. Everyone belongs here. Parking is good, Maintenance is great, the interiors are amazing, and the grounds are always clean and well kept. People actually respect where they live here. If there were move stars, I would give them to The Block, MOVE HERE! :) read more

We lived in Block24 for a year and initially we were very excited to be living in such a nice apartment complex. However, be warned... not everything is as it seems. They look ultra-modern and super nice; the honest truth is that it is all a façade. Once you look closely you see that what you're actually paying for are covers for cheap construction and cut corners. Most issues were minor, such as the drawer in the kitchen that the face was broken and when we reported it on move in they put a tag on it and never addressed the issue again. Others were a bit more inconvenient such as the bathtub; now let me remind you what I said about everything being cheaply constructed. Once my roommate dropped a body wash bottle the second he actually fell himself, this knocked a hole in the tub. Don't get me wrong, it was fixed rather quickly... but that repair is three days each time where you can't use your shower. Another issue we had was that we chose block24 for security, the fob entry on the lower levels was a great feature... it was really disappointing that 90% of the year we were there at least one did not lock. On top of that the residents themselves have a habit of wedging the doors open with seemingly no recourse from the office. One of our neighbors was arrested and it was a total ordeal that we were asked to evacuate our apartment. And on one occasion people at the pool were drinking and partaking of less than legal substances in the middle of the weekday with small children in the pool and the management just said to call the police it wasn't their issue. Our last issues were toward the end of the lease, when it became known we would not be renewing our lease management became very cold and was not helpful when we had any issues, which was a slap in the face because we have always paid on time and kept mostly to ourselves. While this is not a comprehensive overview of our time here, I believe the point has been made. Over all, if you're going to pay the money they want in rent... you can definitely choose somewhere much better. read more

I lived at Block 24 for only one lease term but enjoyed my time there. I lived in a cottage (duplex setup that is single story) so I never experienced any noise issues other reviewers have mentioned. The apartment itself was nice and a washer/dryer was included in the rent. I felt comfortable walking my dog in the complex late at night. I had one covered parking space for free with the option of renting a garage for an additional fee. Management was always pleasant to deal with and maintenance issues were addressed promptly. I would definitely move back if my job situation took me back to the Richardson area. read more

I ended up picking a loft style apartment and the price I got it for was more than reasonable for me. I also love that my unit came with a washer and dryer and a covered parking space.
