At best it's 4 stars. Leasing office is friendly. Maintenance is quick and excellent. The complex is well kept and beautiful. At its worst its 0 stars. The biggest complaint is that they charge you 27 dollars a month for valet waste that doesn't come consistently. And they don't pro rate you a refund for the days that valet waste doesn't come. So basically it's stealing. And this has been ongoing for at least the last 9 -12 months with numerous complaints on the community message board. So just keep in mind if you rent here that you will pay 27 a month for the right to walk down and take out your own trash. The second complaint is that there was a rash of break ins to apartments and cars. I think that has subsided now so hopefully it was just a blip on the radar. Gates in the front and back are consistently broken or easy to get into so this rash could come back. Also there was late communication on it as the only reason we found out was bc of the community message board. Not sure if Management was just trying to sweep this under the rug. Disappointing to say the least considering how expensive it is to live here. I have lived here 3 yrs. I believe that this a fair assessment and that's why I gave it two stars. They will enter your apartment anytime they want without confirming it with you. The gates are broken the majority of the time. Your car will get damaged from other residents and when you complain about it the property managers will just say there's nothing they can do because that car isn't registered to live here. When in reality they don't keep track of who lives here. The property management team is severely under qualified and confused. They never fix or address any problems and have turned this place into a dump. read more

Wanted to update this review as I moved for a little while but moved back back about 2 years ago. I still love Camden; it is still a quiet place to live and a beautiful property. Since I've been back, they really seem to be more on their game with the gate. It still breaks from time to time, but it is usually fixed quickly. Maintenance is also absolutely wonderful; they respond to requests right away and are always friendly. The only complaints I have are having to pay for cable as part of the technology package (I never use it), and the front office does not accept packages which isn't great around the holidays when packages seem to be stolen frequently. But I think this is a policy of the entire company, not just this specific property. Overall though, this has been a wonderful place to live! read more

Hello. My name is Marcus. I went on a tour of the Camden Buckingham Apartments and I must say I was thoroughly impressed at the beautiful landscaping and how well kept the community was. I loved there was water sceneries and a nice sized pool. Dwight was very friendly and him being able to answer all of my questions from grocery and eateries to even concerning the schools around the area helped to lower my anxiety about my upcoming move. The customer service and attention to my needs were excellent. I couldn't wait to come home and share my experience with my spouse. This place is definitely at the top of our list. read more

Wondering how this complex paid people for favorable reviews when theft and armed robberies have occurred on premises and management discouraged postings on the matter, including Ring doorbell photos of random people wearing surgical gloves jiggling door handles. Property manager won't return calls (10 so far) or emails disputing cleaning charges for which we have extensive photographs of meticulous cleaning upon moveout. Property manager appears to be waiting out the 30 day period to pay final bill before turning over to collection agency. read more

I've live here for almost 3 years now....my rating is 3.25 stars the apt is fairly nice/new (no play ground / less kids) however they do play in the parking lot at times =/ .... the complex have 2 pool area and 2 laundry rooms also a fitness center and a good size half court basketball court. (+1 star) the maintainence crew, and repair crew are usually fast and responsive to online and emergency requests (good! +1 star) not so fast if you call in to the Camden office staff b/c sometimes they'll forget to report it to the maintainence crew the location is prime in Richardson close to 635, 75 and 25min you can get to anywhere you want in the metro area...also you're minutes away from Chinatown and Dart station and have kroger / wal-mart etc. around also liquor store is walking distance! ....(+1 star) THE BAD: the walls are pretty thin, you can hear your neighbors if they're watching a loud movie or playing loud music or have crying babies at night......unreasonable billings....you are FORCED to have renters insurance which is about $210 for 12 months, you are FORCED to pay for basic cable through time warner (even if you do not own or watch TV $38 a month), you are FORCED to pay a valet trash fee even if you don't use their service ($28 a month on top of the city trash fee $28 a month) and the garage rental is $75 a month....the office is slow to response or help you at times. another bad they only give you 30-45 days for notice to leave the complex...way to short to look for a new apt. or decide....the complex is gated but the gates are broken / left open 4~5 days out of 7 ... and no remote openers or code to open the gates ...when it rains you'll still have to open the window to get wet (-1 star) bad customer service of the CAMDEN manager/staff/crew.....out of the 2 flood that I had the staff did nothing to compensate my time or physically have to endure the 2 weeks they were repairing my unit. (-0.75 star) only wish they would lower the prices or remove on some unreasonable charges and improve their customer service just a little bit. it'd make it so much better read more

I honestly wish I could give this apartment complex 0 stars. They don't even deserve the one that I'm giving them in this review. The customer service is absolutely horrible. There have been so many instances where they have miscommunicated with us and then said that it was our fault. I noticed a lot of security issues (back gate was open and I saw someone slip in through the opening) and they don't really screen visitors. I have constantly told them about cars being parked in front of my apartment that don't have a parking tag and they don't remove them (when they promised as I was signing my lease that un-tagged vehicles will ALWAYS be removed via tow truck). Also, be warned that this complex involves very young families and the walls are extremely thin. YOU WILL HEAR EVERYTHING. This also means very limited parking because these families have multiple cars. This complex should develop an assigned parking system (1 or 2 cars to an apartment) so other residents who come home late don't have to park all the way in the visitors lot, which is located in the far back of the complex. They also nickel and dime the hell out of you. When you sign the lease, you have to agree to the trash valet service (you put your trash outside your door and they dump it for you). It sounds nice at first but if you end up like me and your apartment is near the dumpster, it seems like a waste of $27 a month. We tried to opt out of it when we renewed but they wouldn't allow it. There are some pros to this place. The maintenance team is very quick to respond to emergencies, but they're not the nicest of people. You are also 5 minutes away from 635 and 75. All you're paying for is the location. This is a horrible apartment complex, please find another option and consider this place as a last resort. read more

This apartment complex is awful. ***RENTERS BEWARE***. We lived there for 15 months and had regular car break ins, gates were broken frequently, and the people in the office were not very good at communication at all. There was leaking on several occasions from the light fixture above the tub and we had to call twice for it to be fixed . Also, they will charge you a $100 cleaning fee at the end of the lease which I have never seen. Not only that but the halls were littered with trash and gunk that was hardly ever cleaned or paid attention to. We could not wait to leave because this place was so terrible. read more

We lived at Camden Buckingham for one year. 7 months into our stay, a new tenant moved in above us who made our lives a living hell. They were very noisy especially the guy who was supposedly a musician. He would start his loud music from 10 in the morning until 9 pm. We made numerous complaints about the tenant to the management but they would say the noise was not excessive. Also after we moved out, We paid off my balance thinking that they're out of our lives for good until a month later I received a letter from a collection agency for some bogus charges. When I called them, they said they emailed me the charges and also sent the notice thru USPS which I never received otherwise u would have called and questioned those charges. I called the person who oversees the community Sydney Ellis. All she said that she was sorry. I'm warning you if you're thinking about renting in that community, think long and hard. All they care about is your money. Your privacy and peace of mind will be ignored and once you move out, watch out for these outrageous charges they're going to stick you with. DON'T RENT AT CAMDEN BUCKINGHAM. They're just awful. read more

I love the Camden community and their staff. I didn't know apartment living could be so ideal!! The amenities are outstanding, elegant, up-to-date and excellently maintained. Great work out facilities and a basketball court that transforms into a volleyball court, indoor soccer and more. They have on-going activities and resident engagement events. In my experience, what greatly sets them apart form the rest is their staff. They are very professional, courteous and responsive to residents across the board. This has been the best apartment experience I have ever had, I will only consider Camden properties in the future. I moved to Texas 9 months ago. I visited so many complexes but Camden really stands out as having the most friendly and professional staff I've ever worked with! The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The apartments have high ceilings and I don't hear my neighbors. Response time for a rare repair is same day or next day!! I feel safe and have met many people from all over the world who also enjoy a high standard of living. We see each other after dinner on our regular stroll of the grounds, it's a nice community of people! I take my usual walk to Walgreens, ice cream place and Kroger, all less than a mile away! Maintenance is professional and usually completed within 24 hours of the request. I rarely deal with the office staff, maybe 4 times in my whole stay, and they have usually been pleasant. For the area its ok on pricing, but make sure you ask about the fees not included in the rent. read more

Ok, I'm praying for all of you that you read this and base your decision on my review, because it will be the best thing you've ever done for yourself and your family! This place is infested with cockroaches. Ok, Ok, I know that seems harsh and ridiculous and potentially like something I made up because I'm bitter at the management for whatever reason. BUT NO, it really is infested with cockroaches. If you are in any way considering living here, I suggest you drive back over there and ask several people walking around the parking lot who live there if they have had a cockroach problem. If everyone looks surprised and answers you no, then I'm a liar. But I'm guessing you'll go 100% with yes answers. Maybe a few buildings haven't been affected, but believe me, some tenants are going to say yes. Don't say you weren't warned or at least advised to go and ask the questions to tenants yourself! read more

I lived at Camden Buckingham for 2 years. Overall, it was a great place to live and my favorite of all the apartments I have lived in. The apartments themselves are clean and updated with stainless steel refrigerators and microwaves and an electric range oven. I found this to be a comfortable place to live and would recommend it to anyone who can afford the price. As for the noisiness other reviewers have mentioned, I have found that the noise level depends on your neighbors. I have had an extremely loud neighbor would wake me up every morning by screaming his head off so loudly that it sounded like he was in the same room as me, and I have had neighbors who I never head make so much as a peep. The location is relatively quiet, close to a few different parks, and within walking distance of fast food/grocery stores. After a living here for a while, you start to get used to the constant construction and traffic that is 635 and 75. There's a nice little paved trail that goes around the pond/fountains inside the complex which I liked strolling around. There are always kids playing in the parking lot, which can be a little annoying when you're trying to drive by. There are sidewalks, but they do not connect all the way around. The community is gated but I only ever had to swipe to open the gate about 35% of the time. There are so many people coming in and going out that the gate is almost constantly open. There is a mixed demographic of tenants, but you can expect a decent amount of them to conspicuously stare you down every time you're in their field of sight for seemingly no reason, which did bug me quite a bit. The staff is usually helpful (Rebecca is great) and most of them at least feign friendliness. The maintenance staff is adequate but doesn't go out of their way to be nice, and it's easy to submit service requests online. The major downside to this apartment complex is the fees and charges they tack on to your rent. Valet waste is about $40, and you can't refuse this charge even if, like me, your apartment is just a few steps away from the dumpster. They also include TWC basic cable into every apartment (also about $40 if I remember correctly) which you have no choice over. When you move out, you'll be charged a $70 cleaning fee plus whatever additional charges they feel like adding on. read more

Searching for an apartment for my husband's son for his first year at college this past weekend. Saturday we were excited about confirming the apartment although we had to wait to see if his room mate would be able to commit in his sport. We had a great conversation with one of the leasing agents who was very friendly. We spoke about the amenities of the apartments and how the rate changes every 4 hours (red flag) and especially about how the quote he was giving us expires in 48 hours. Okay, we need to talk to the room mate and see if he can commit and we will decide within the 48 hours. I called twice on Monday and my husband called twice after 3:00 pm on Monday. Our question was if we signed up for a 2 bedroom and his room mate can't commit can we change it. We would know in a couple of weeks. No one returned the calls and we were directed to leave voicemails. When the leasing agent called me this morning, we got our question answered. Great, we can change it to a one bedroom if his room mate doesn't work out. We are ready to fill out the paperwork. The leasing agent proceeded to let me know that the quote had expired and now the rent would increase $30.00 a month. I told him, we tried to confirm this yesterday although no one would call us back. He spoke to his supervisor and he came back on the phone and said there was nothing he could do. I asked to speak to his supervisor and the same thing, nothing she could do and said you could have applied online. No one told us to apply online which is an important step to miss letting your client know this and there is a 48 hour deadline. Although our leasing agent was friendly, we know more about his UCLA days than the steps to take to apply for the apartment. I called the regional office as well as the district office and was told that it states on the quote to fill out the application online. (fine print) My leasing agent never told us to apply online whatsoever. You would think after leaving 4 voicemails before the deadline and no one returned the call, they would have honored the quote. No not at all, they informed me that they are very busy during the day and couldn't return the call. I said to the supervisor, If you are implementing a strict 48 hour deadline on your quotes, don't you think all phone messages should be returned before you leave for the day? (Silence on her end) I am writing this review due to the principal of the matter, not the $30.00 additional a month (although that really irritates me) and how a quote was not honored after the deadline due to Camden staff not returning 4 voicemails that were left before the deadline. I will write this on every social media outlet as well as filing a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. Ric Campo - CEO of Camden - will receive a letter from me as well. read more

I have lived here for 5 yrs. now. I have loved it and often bragged while recommending it to friends, family, and co-workers. Meredith in the office has been great. Paying over $1,000 for a one bedroom apt. is excessive but I have felt like it has been worth it up to this point. Now to the reason for my review. I have contacted the office about two issues. The first one is a toilet continuously running somewhere in my building. I can hear it but cannot tell what apt. it is coming from. Since the water bill received by each resident is an average of the water used in your building you can imagine my concern. As far as I know it started Friday, It was reported verbally on Sunday to the office. The response was that they cannot enter an apt. without the resident's permission. It was suggested that we go and knock on doors and see if we can find out which apt. it is. I find this totally unacceptable and I know that this is going to be a problem when the bill comes. This is my way of documenting the issue. Secondly and most importantly, there has never been an issue with pests of any kind. All of a sudden in the last month or so, I have started noticing roaches coming through the vent in my kitchen. I reported this and pest control was sent out yesterday. Here is the resolution/response verbatim from my online account: Date/time submitted: 2/7/2016 3:10 PM Description: Indoor pest control treatment Status: Complete Complete by: 2/8/2016 3:10 PM Comments: roaches throughout - use spray from home depot Needless to say I am livid and plan to move as soon as my lease is up.
