The place is clean, and the mats regularly sanitized, and there is good parking in the back. The schedule makes for a full calendar, instead of some kind of Tuesday Thursday thing like a lot of other places. They have regular classes every night and alternating mornings for both beginners and master cycle members. I was looking for a place to work out that could maximize my weekly schedule. I researched a lot of places in SLC including styles that I am much more familiar with before deciding to try this school. Really, my main concern was finding a school that was well run that had a schedule with classes every night. That meant that there had to be instructors AND students at the school on as many nights as possible. So, I can't say I had many preconceived ideas about the Gracie style before checking them out. I have since been impressed with Ryan and Aidan and their easy teaching style. While I now realize that each class is a well defined product of the Gracie system, you still have to have a connection with your students to engage the class and make it fun. These guys deliver. If you haven't checked out a Gracie school before, or you want to get your start in the martial arts with a super well managed style, then this is really the place to be. A month later, I am raising this to five stars. I am a huge fan of Ryan and Aiden's style of teaching, and I've even lost 12 pounds.

There were plenty white belts and the instructor was a blue belt. He started with text book self defense for guillotine and some good basic arm bar from mount details. His instruction was thorough and he addressed the questions from the class well. I liked that he wasn't shaken by having a higher belt in his class and he catered to the beginners as it is a beginner class (fundamentals are key). I would also give credit to whoever has been training Logan because his lessons are clear and easy to follow. I hope to get back for an advanced class and possibly some sparring. No doubt these are Gracie details being handed down.

I have worked with Fred on some projects for his school and through that experience have come to learn that he is a caring instructor, an involved community member, and an excellent business man. He works hard to think of ways he can further his students desires to progress as well as what he can do to educate people in the community to the benefits of training in the martial arts. He holds an annual event that dozens of people attend to help the community as well. I highly recommend at least checking him out and observing his Judo classes and going in to ask him questions. I doubt anyone would regret it.

Amba felt like a strong female form of guided body expression that allows the old holding patterns to free up. AAAAwwwww yes!!! Each class was a little bit different but with a similar flow. She knows the body and the anatomy of movement in a way that tapped me into areas I was not aware of. Afterward, I was energized but extremely relaxed and balanced on my feet. This movement class had every part that I needed to reconnect to my movement and open parts of my body that are sluggish. The facility was beautiful and calming. Fallon had control over the music and consciously had a certain set depending on the movement speed. I absolutely would recommend you join no matter if you are a beginner or advanced abilities to try Fallon and her class. She reaches everyone at their level and will deepen the experience for you. What a gem to have a gifted and experienced healer as part of the Salt Lake City community. She also provides card readings, massage therapy (which I've had many people recommend her!), movement therapy and nutritional support. Currently, you can find her at many different healing centers but her practice is blooming! Her class was in an Apothecary center and her massage has been inside HerMedic Therapeutics.

I got a response immediately from who appeared to be the owner and invited me to come to a class for free to check it out. Classes are daily Monday-Friday at 7:30pm and Saturdays at 9am and are $5 per class or $60 per month for unlimited classes (I learned this from the nice girl at the door whom I checked in with). There were probably 50 ladies there for the class-it was hopping! The class was very fast paced and the instructor was so full of ENERGY! She bounced around the stage leading the class and then would wander around to give encouragement in the form of hilarious facial expressions and an occasional drill-sergeant-esque yell. She made it fun but also made sure we were working. Hard. If that scares you off, come back. The attendees were very diverse in fitness level. There were even young kids participating and a bad-A lady in a wheelchair who was knocking the moves out of the park. Seriously, if this white, red-headed chick (me) can do it, so can you. Come check it out-you won't be sorry! Note on the parking-by the time class was over, the parking lot was full and several cars were blocked by double parking. I'd suggest carpooling, parking across the street or getting there early. I can only see this place growing and getting busier!
