I was recommended to Lucy at Blondies by my wedding photographer. My husband and I had previously had a bad experience with another local hairstylist and Blondies was ready to help us! My previous wedding hair stylist had canceled on me 6 weeks before our wedding and Lucy was able to step in and do a great job! She was even able to squeeze me in two days before my wedding for a trial run (I was unable to do this sooner since I am not from Grass Valley). The trial run and wedding day hair came out fabulously! She came to our venue at no extra cost and was also able to do 3 of my bridesmaids' and my mom's hair. I was extremely happy with Lucy's customer service! She was able to produce exactly what I wanted and make good out of a bad situation. Two days before our wedding, the same previous hair stylist canceled on my husband less than an hour before his appointment. He decided to try out Blondies and go in as a walk-in since he knew I was going to go there later in the day for my trial run with Lucy. Joelle is the first stylist I've come across in years that actually makes my super short pixie style look sassy and girly instead of looking like I just asked for a boy haircut. It is SO hard to find a hair stylist that can do that AND it's been almost 6 months since I had it cut and it grew out SO nicely. My only beef is I have trouble finding a sitter during the week since my stylist doesn't work on the weekends when my husband could watch our kids, but that's okay. Although all the girls here were very nice and pleasant. I came here for my wedding day hair updo, along with my bridesmaids, and I wasn't very pleased with the results. I showed the stylist the look I was going for, which was a very boho, loose curls, messy updo look. The stylist assured me that we could pull the look off no problem! She began styling and curling, but with every curl she made, she would flatten it out with a comb, and made it look like there was no curl or volume at all. I had to repeatedly tell her to do more curls and mess it up, she would say ok, then flatten it out again! By the end, my hair looked nothing like how I wanted it, it was so "perfect" looking and not boho at all. But by the time it was all said and done, I had no time to change it, for I had a wedding to get too. The style wasn't terrible, but for my wedding day, you can imagine the disappointment when the look the stylist said she could pull off no problem, ended up looking nothing like what I wanted. I wish she would not have put her own twist on it (saying this would be better for the long day) and just done what "the bride" asked. read more

We have a real gem of a hairstylist at this salon in Grass Valley. She is DEBBIE SAVIGNANO!!! She has the whole package! She is an expert colorist, hair cutter and stylist. ( My blow dry lasts at least 5 days) and has over 20 plus years of experience in the field. She splits her time working in the Bay Area, recently relocating here in the past year or so. She is so nice and bubbly; she can even cheer up a person having a less than perfect day. Ive been to many many hair cutters and colorists in my 55 plus years and can say without reservation she is top-notch and a perfectionist, which I love and appreciate. A smallish salon tucked in a corner next to Allstate in the Brunswick area shopping center, this place has a great ambiance and excellent staff. I had my hair trimmed by Char and my pretty toes painted by Dayna. I recommend both although I have to say the one and a half hour long pedicure was longer than I anticipated and mostly because I was soaking for so long. And, they didn't have me use a toe dryer which I found odd. Be prepared for the cramped quarters and lots of overheard conversations...a typical salon! But one you can trust. read more

This salon is very professional, clean, good music, and most of all, good people work there. I came in crying from a terrible hair color I had just got. It was awful I didn't know what to do. Once I walked in I explained what happened and the lady at the front desk was amazing and willing to help and do whatever she could for me. I got booked for 2 days after the horribleness with Milly Gross. Crazy how they got me in so fast with someone I trust. Milly worked her hair magic, corrected what the other stylist had messed up. She made sure I was walking out of there happy and confident with my hair. It worked! I had the biggest a smile and was so happy how it turned out. I had the worst color job I have ever received at the salon. The stylist was nice and I really liked her but I received the OPPOSITE of what I asked for in regards to color. Asked for an ash tone and received a brassy gold tone. I called the manufacturer of the hair line they use, and was told the stylist used the opposite colors that she should have- makes no sense. Then, when I called the salon to discuss my options, the receptionist was very rude and was told that no one in management had time to discuss the situation, and that the soonest they could get me back in was in 5 days! When all I need is a 5 minute toner applied to help correct the color! Says it all......... read more
