This review is for Cassie who does facials here at this salon. Cassie is absolutely amazing when it comes to facials! I get her "Make me Young, make me bright" facial which has microdermabrasion and I get it done every 6 weeks. I've already gotten 3 different microdermabrasion sessions and i can tell that it is helping tremendously with my acne scars. Cassie is so professional and so easy to talk to, it's literally like having a friend doing your facial. Her prices are great especially for her professionalism. This salon is absolutely adorable!! I love the decor (think 50s pin up style - lots of red and black/white stripes, with some green on the walls as well as pictures of Marilyn Monroe and Elvis), and the people who work there are super sweet and friendly. Everyone has a different hairstyle, and they all look so cute!! Also since I'm half black with thick/somewhat kinky hair (I've got the mixed girl tight curls going on) it's difficult to find a place to get my hair done, while maintaining a healthy, happy, and gorgeous style (it's also hard to find a place that doesn't charge you an arm and a leg for having black or mixed with black hair, we shouldn't be punished for having a different hair type price wise). It's also hard to find someone who won't burn my scalp or leave scarring on it. That being said I went to see David at Blondies, he specializes in all different hair types, and he's never burned me (thank goodness because that's my number one pet peeve). I've been getting my hair done by him for a while now, he always knows what to do - it's like he reads my mind in terms of the style I want. It's gotten to the point where I let him have free range with my hair because I trust him that much (and we all know it takes a lot to get us to trust a stylist with our hair). He makes my hair look gorgeous, frames my face perfectly no matter the style, and ever since I started seeing him my scalp and my hair have been super healthy!! Plus he has great prices so even though I look like I got a pricey hair do, I paid a lot less than I think it's worth. ^_~* I am now a return customer, I'll be coming in every Tuesday to see David for a trendsetting new do. He makes my hair feel incredibly soft, it looks stunning (I get compliments from everyone including my boyfriend who is not one to typically compliment when I get a new hairstyle), is incredibly healthy, and I'm just sooooo happy that I went to go and see David at Blondies!! I will add pictures as well of the style I got yesterday! ^_^ P.S. Blondie's takes Walk Ins! Which is great because there are just some days when I need a quick fix up but didn't schedule an appointment (or worse I can't get an appointment for over a week and I need my hair done that week). read more

I went in recently to get my haircut, i was badly overdue as my last haircut was a year ago. I used to have Sarah cut my hair but she no longer works there so i booked with someone new, i was nervous but also excited to see their new location.It was going to be $20 for a haircut and style. When i arrived for my appointment, i was told she was running behind but that "we can do a deep conditioner while you wait". So i said ok and sat in the back for about 30 min. I hardly get deep conditioners (even tho i prob should lol) so i dont remember how long they usually take but 30 min was too long for me to sit with all that wet hair and my neck bent over the shampoo bowl so it was uncomfortable. Im used to sitting upright and having someone check on you if you would like a water or magazine or something. But they didnt. They finally rinsed me and took me to the front to get the haircut started and i explained what i wanted, take some length off, refresh my layers, and take alot of the heaviness out. I was advised against removing the thickness as this would "make my hair grow faster". That didnt make sense to me. Hair grows at the same speed whether its cut or not. She eventually did remove a little bit, but the whole experience was very awkward. Maybe she was having a bad day, but i felt like i was bothering her. Not sure how else to describe it. She finished it up and styled it and when i went to pay, she said $25. $25? I thought it was $20? Im guessing she charged me $5 for the deep condition that i thought was offered as a courtesy for waiting. My boyfriend pulls out 2 $20's and she walks away to get change while on a phone call. It looked like there was a problem getting change so my boyfriend says "its fine just keep the $40" to which she walks away (still on the phone) and doesnt even say thank you for the big tip she received. Im also disappointed in my haircut. Seems a little uneven and the layers arent really thinned out on the ends so its a little hard to style, like when i put it into a ponytail, its just a chunk of thick hair, not cute :( Disappointed, but no i wont name the stylist. Not sure if ill be back to try someone else. read more
