Stopped in for lunch and am so glad I did. First, Karina is a sweetheart, and works hard to run La…read moreDolcekca, a place she clearly loves and is incredibly passionate about. There are baked goods, desserts, and brunch and sandwich options, several of which have Dominican or other Latino roots. I had the chimi sandwich, which was delicious. A chimi is a Dominican street food, served almost like a burger, served with shredded cabbage in a mayoketchup sauce. La Dolcekca's chimi is a sandwich, and a dang good one at that. Absolutely delicious, and a sizable portion at that, served with a side of French fries. I also had a jugo de chinola (maracuya for most Latinos; passionfruit juice for non-Spanish speakers). Aside from the food being delicious, this place is adorable. This is clearly a business that someone really cares about. The decorations are super cute and feminine, with florals and several Parisian references. Bathroom is clean and tidy, as is the rest of the business. I am so glad I finally got to stop by and support this woman-owned, Latino-owned establishment. I am thoroughly looking forward to coming back soon!

Her two daughters are as determined and driven as she is as well as amazing chefs. I would go here religiously for lunch over the last year and I also brought all my coworkers anytime It was my turn to pick where we ate for lunch. It's tucked away and you probably wouldn't see it unless you were going there purposely. Once you get in, it's a very eclectic, antique, floral and colorful it's just a happy feeling when you walk into this bakery. All the different plates and tea cups that they have on the back counter behind the register are so cute. ALL the food from desserts to lunch to taking a BOX of empanadas for dinner... Everything is delicious. Nothing lacks flavor. I always come for the flan because it's the perfect texture. I could eat a whole pan. The beef empanadas go quickly so call in early if you wanna get an order in for lunch. I'm still working my way through all of the desserts so I recommend going on an empty stomach because you have lots of options to choose from. Give the drink of the month a try too!

I stopped by today hoping to grab some of their famous long johns, but the morning crowd had already bought them all out--which honestly tells you everything you need to know about how popular their baked goods are. Some of their favorites definitely sell out early, so getting there sooner is always a good idea. Since the long johns were gone, I picked up two Boston cream donuts and a slice of their strawberry chiffon cake. The strawberry chiffon cake was absolutely incredible. It was so light and airy that it truly felt like eating a cloud with strawberries. It was fresh, soft, and packed with flavor. The Park Road location is my go-to, although they also have a location at Optimist Hall. The customer service is always friendly, and I'm usually in and out quickly, even when they're busy. Suarez's offers an amazing selection of cakes, cookies, donuts, cupcakes, and other baked treats. Everything I've tried has been consistently delicious. I've also used them several times for birthday cakes, and they have always done a fantastic job. Their cakes not only look beautiful, but they taste just as good, making them a great option for special occasions. Another bonus is that they're open on Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., which is perfect when you're craving something sweet over the weekend. If you're looking for a bakery in Charlotte that delivers quality, consistency, and delicious desserts, Suarez's Bakery is definitely worth the visit. Just remember: if you're after one of their popular items, get there early because the favorites tend to sell out. 10 out of 10, highly recommend for all your bakery needs--from everyday treats to special occasion cakes.

The bakery focuses on small-batch, homemade pastries and artisan baked goods, and there are definitely some standouts. The dulce de leche pastries are fantastic, and anything with guava is usually a great choice. Compared to the Optimist Hall location, the aesthetics here feel a little more understated. The display case was a bit sparse during my visit, though they did have some seasonal cookies available. One thing I wish they had is outdoor seating--it would be nice to grab a pastry and enjoy it outside. Parking here is very easy since it's in a large shopping center, which makes it a convenient stop. I also wish they stayed open later, because it would be a great place to grab dessert after dinner given how many restaurants are nearby. Insider tip: If you're visiting, keep an eye out for the dulce de leche or guava pastries--they're some of the best items in the case. Overall, a solid bakery stop for artisan pastries and baked treats, especially if you're already in the Park Road area.
