My best friend had mentioned that she likes this florist, so when I send her gifts of love and appreciation, I have depended on them on many occasions. Just this last week, my friend sent me a picture of the bouquet in a text and a "thank you!". The bouquet contained EIGHT pionies! I was shocked and appalled. It looked fine for $25. They charged me $152 for EIGHT PEONIES. $19 a flower? 1. Trader Joe's flowers put them to shame 2. I am embarrassed and disappointed. This is not a display of love and gratitude. 3. The flowers are PERFECT and could be exemplars of their species if we had to take two of everything onto noah's ark, ya know? I've been AMAZED by how long the flowers last- for us it's been about 10 times the length of any other flowers we've brought into the home whether they've been from farmer's market, trader joe's, whole foods, other florists, or delivery services. We once received a gorgeous distressed wooden basket with two orchids that held their blooms nearly five months with very rare and sporadic watering (we even went on vacation for a while and came back to them in great condition). I recently purchased an arrangement from Bloomers - I live in the neighborhood and walk by the shop all the time. It's adorable, cute decor and welcoming. The Plot: I needed to send an assortment as a thank you that afternoon or early the next morning - had a crazy day and would not be back into the hood until later. So, I called in the order. My direction was sparse, but felt I could trust them to take the reigns since I saw so many beautiful things in the window. My ask: something modern, something not tropical, something in a vase that is unique and would be memorable reused. I said their apartment was simple modern design and to follow that feeling. I asked to stay within $100 budget, and asked if they could snap a photo and email it to me so so I could see what I purchased. The man who took my order on the phone agreed. Positives: man on the phone was friendly and tolerated my bad cell connection. Negatives: the flowers were poorly arranged, as if they were thrown in last minute. It was filled with Lilly's and looked extremely tropical. There were some other flowers that looked as if they were randomly shoved in the center . Plus, the vase it was sent with with a simple glass rectangle with no interesting qualities- something you could buy at that you can buy any Safeway. And I was never sent a photo or any follow up. For $100, I expected more. At least a follow up photo or call as promised. Very disappointing read more

Sadly, my husband of 24 years recently passed away. I called bloomers to order a very large bouquet as the centerpiece for his memorial. My husband and I have driven by Bloomers many times. Intrigued by their beautiful wreaths (which we later found out that they outsource, which is fine by us because that means they have good taste, right?), we purchased 3 on the spot. We also decided to order two flower arrangements for the holidays. After discussing what we had in mind, we set a price limit for our arrangements and were excited for our delivery in time for a party we are hosting. Being in creative fields, we understand that what is aesthetically pleasing is subjective. We are also recent NYC transplants and are used to paying a pretty penny for gorgeous arrangements. However, when the arrangements arrived, we were very disappointed. Having spent nearly $400, we expected something stunning and were quite surprised at how lopsided and cheap the flowers looked. (I have no interest in being nasty, this is simply an opinion.) I called to discuss the situation and even offered that they take the flowers back. They graciously said they would give me my money back. For this, I give them 4 stars. Bloomers and I may not be on the same page aesthetically, but kudos for offering good customer service. I recently ordered an arrangement for a family friend for a bereavement. The woman who assisted me was extremely courteous and helpful. With her help, I chose a vibrant orange orchid arrangement rather than the typical white lilies. I have heard nothing but wonderful things about the arrangement from the family and I am so glad that the woman assisting me gave me several options rather than the standard choice for a sympathy arrangement - which would have been the easy route. My daughter had a Father/Daughter Dance and we forgot to pre-order flowers. I searched for a florist in the Laurel Village/Pac Heights areas and found Bloomers. It had such positive reviews I sent my husband there. And I now I know why!! The store was about to close and the cash register was shut down. But Patric, the owner, was sympathetic to my husband's plight and quickly pulled together a pretty rose bouquet of white and red roses and fresh greenery for my daughter, complete with a gold ribbon to match her dress. If what you want is a stupid FTD-like bouquet, this isn't the place. But if you want unusual and beautiful flowers, and really expert arrangers, it's hard for me to imagine where you would do better in San Francisco.
