Admission was super reasonable at $12 per person and that included all the activities. They also offer a military discount which we really appreciated. There was honestly so much to do: - Mazes - Mini putt-putt - Pumpkin bowling - Photo cutouts and a big truck for fun pics - Barrel rides, barrel run, barrel slide - Basketball - A zip line swing - $1 pumpkin slingshot - Tractor rides -And so much more! The animal area was a hit - feeding the goats (just 25 cents!) was so cute and there were also a miniature donkey, pony, and a rabbit. We were a little bummed the hayride wasn't running when we visited, but there was still plenty to enjoy. The sweet treats and drinks were a nice bonus - frosted pumpkin sugar cookie + lemon shakeup = perfect fall combo! Overall, it was a great day full of classic fall fun. Every volunteer is knowledgeable and friendly. What a wonderful organization to have in our Central Ohio community -- and we are all the luckier for it. The fest is worth it at $10 per person, in my opinion. It helps support the center and that's a win. They have programming all year. Just be sure to get tickets early, as they get popular! Also: best maple syrup ever! I love it so much!

I surprised my sweetie with a Maple Syrup Tour at Stratford Ecological Center on a crisp late…read morewinter morning. For the bargain price of $4 per person, I was expecting to spend approximately 30-40 minutes in a room learning about the syrup making process. Being wrong never felt so good! Having a reservation which I had paid for in advance, we checked in promptly where they suggested we borrow some of their boots due to muddy conditions & that proved needed as the terrain deiced. How awesome is that! Once everyone had their boots on we met fireside where our guide introduced herself, provided history of their facility & informed us of what to expect during our experience. Next stop: animal barn! Being the animal lover that I am, this was my absolute favorite part. Not only did I not know that this was included (bonus!), but I was so grateful to be able to get up close to the new calf & her mommy & see the oh so pregnant piggie. Even better we got to get in the sheep pin & the goat/llama pins where we could pet these adorable creatures. My heart was so happy I almost never wanted to leave, but it was time to move onto our next adventure... maple syrup! The walk from the animal barn to the maple syrup area was about 20 minutes. I imagine this varies based on weather conditions & the amount & ages of those on your tour. The scenery was absolutely breath-taking as the sun peeped through the leafless trees, casting beautiful shadows about. There was a dusting of snow on the ground & a crisp, icy terrain on the ground & the creek. As we walked we stopped periodically to learn about how to identify maple trees, the variety of maple trees in our area & all about how the seasons impacts the process. We got to see the process firsthand & I was surprised to see that the sap is clear. Once we arrived at the cabin we learned about the filtration system and the science of the sap to syrup process where we got to tast the sap & then the syrup. It is absolutely delicious & pure in taste without the senseless added sugar commonly found in those found in stores. Another interesting & entertaining moment came when we were shown how hot stones were placed in water inside a hollowed-out log. This experience delivered a lot of bang for your buck & it felt really good to support this local working farm. I am going to be sure to check their website for future events to explore.

We had the opportunity to visit in 2020 and so happy we took some time off to visit again this year for 2023! Booked tickets online a couple weeks ago, drove up from Columbus, checked in at the gate, and spent the afternoon enjoying the grounds and gardens. Price is $50 per car, there were only 2 of us but we would have been the same for a full car. The experience was simply breathtaking, tranquil, and fun to explore the 9 gardens and art. The gardens consist of: the Waterfalls Garden, Stream Garden, Serenity Garden, Hofstra Garden, Chinese Cup Garden, Japanese Garden, Meadow Garden, Woodland Garden, and the Quarry Garden. My personal favorites are the Quarry, Stream, Serenity, and Woodland Garden and I absolutely love all the art and the various shapes and sizes of the trees and shrubs throughout. The stroll took us about 2 1/2 hours this trip. Open to the public this season from Jun 1st - Jun 25th, 2023. Located in Gambier, Ohio (Knox County) It's about an hour outside of Columbus. The self-guided tour of the gardens allowed for literal roaming of the property off path (as there are no official paths). I had thought this would be a drive-through tour to protect the garden space (pricing is by the car load). I thought I would have 1 hour. When I learned I could walk the grounds at my leisure and literally stay as long as I wanted, I was amazed and ended up staying for almost 3 hours tracing and retracing my steps! They have simplified the entrance/exit making it easier to come and go. The pool was in great shape this time. But the splash pad is not turned on yet. I did see where they added new jump pads, one normal size and one huge! This is right next to a new zip line and the kids seem to love both. I decided to splurge on one of their deluxe patio sites since this was my birthday/Father's day present. We got a very nice site back in the BOONDOCKS area which is a nice secluded area not too far from everything else. It does have a nice shower that is ADA compliant, but my only suggestion would be to put a handicap sign up so more abled people can use the others first. Since I was splurging this week, we did take advantage of firewood and ice delivery and they were quick and courteous. I did have an opportunity to reach out for help with their management when an unexpected storm came through. We have a pop up that once you setup and put out the awning, its difficult to get down in a hurry. I used their text number and requested a small step ladder to help me get the awning down and they quickly responded. That was a big help. All in all it was a great stay. My only real issue is with reserving a deluxe patio site, some have propane grills and others have charcoal grills and I don't think you know till you get there, so we had to run our for charcoal.

We drove 2.5 hours…read more The pool and splash pad not open and we didn't find out until arriving,(closed for a few weeks so it could be replaced). Our site was nicely furnished but no shade/trees. The wagon ride was cancelled on Saturday with out a notice. We walked on the trail with the kids but it smelled terrible like sewage and there are no trail markers so we had to back track a few times. One trail took us to a house. The sun catcher paint event was not well put together. They were gone in 1 minute and not enough paint for everyone. Walked to feed the animals and didn't realize it cost a quarter to feed. Absolutely no cash on us. And we lost a headlamp we bought in the store, went to buy another the morning we left and told we were not allowed in the store and it was closed for an emergency. For the amount of money we paid just expected a little more being the holiday weekend. Don't see us coming back. Likes: bathrooms were nice, kids liked playground and jump pad, the paddle boat and life jackets, patio furniture at our site.

Some long timers set up and all were wonderful to lose time in conversation. The back area was huge with grass. My pups got some great exercise in to help being cooped up in the truck for so long. We happened to catch the bluegrass bands while we were there and it was nice to have in the background. They didn't stay up too late either. I would stay here again if ever in the area.
