I have to give them 5 stars because our perusing unexpectedly turned into a happy hour this Saturday afternoon when we served up cocktails downstairs in their housewares department. Tequila sunrises or Blue curaçao's brought many smiles to the faces of unsuspecting patrons. I have to say I've never been to a department store who freely served up cocktails to customers. 5 stars -- only because of Mrs. Debbie! She is single-handedly the reason I've started coming back to Bloomies. Normally when I come in, I get little to no interaction from the staff. One Sunday after church, I almost skipped Bloomies altogether, but I knew they carried a few fragrances I'd been wanting. Nordstrom doesn't have them, and I wanted instant gratification instead of waiting for shipping. When I walked in, not much had changed--still very little engagement--until Mrs. Debbie spotted us. She immediately stepped in to help and was so personable and attentive to what both my husband and I were looking for. She quickly became someone I felt comfortable with. Since that visit, she has been incredibly helpful and responsive to any calls or questions I've had. Mrs. Stella has always been my go-to SA at another store, but Mrs. Debbie is now firmly on that list. I've already been telling people to go in and shop with her! read more

This store has been open since the end of 2022 when they closed the huge bloomingdale's anchor store at old orchard mall. I actually like the new store better, everything is easy to find and there is lots of merchandise. There's even a basement level and a small cafe. We were also very lucky that the store happened to be having free engraving on colognes over $250 from a specific time frame that day. I'm not big into fashion, luxury brands or status but I do love perfume! I love that I can go into Bloomie's and peruse all the high-end fragrances and spritz up a small cloud of heady scents, undisturbed. My Mojave Ghost is running low so I circled the Byredo display, spritzing and sniffing until I couldn't tell what was what. No one approached (bothered) me. There are displays with all the Maison Francis Kurkdijan fragrances (Baccarat Rouge -- a DC-Uber driver identified it immediately), Jo Malone, Acqua di Parma (don't buy without smelling, as I did (shudder)). There is a nice curated selection of items: I saw 50 percent off cashmere, an Aqua dress I contemplated purchasing, some marked down glitzy outfits. I didn't even go downstairs! I would be very cautious of buying from this establishment. For one, they tend to be a bit snotty eyeing you up and down to determine if you have money to spend...that will determine how helpful they are to you... Second, good luck trying to return something...they make it impossible to do so even if adhering to their return policy... Thankfully, Nordstrom is right there in the mall and not once have I received pushback for making a return especially an item purchased online.... Bad shopping experience at "Bloomies" and will not spend my hard earned monry at such an elitist place with a difficult return process. read more

The original Bloomingdale's is no more at OO mall; the main building has officially closed and Bloomie's has taken over what was once was Barnes & Noble. This store is now going for the curated vibe, where it offers carefully selected items for a better shopping experience. Everything was laid out well, easy to navigate, and there was a good selection of clothing, accessories, and fragrances. Staff are welcoming and are readily available for assistance. There's also a cafe, too, and there were a handful of patrons enjoying an early lunch. I went into the store and was looking at the Chanel counter. A saleswomen came up and asked if I needed help. Politely I said oh I am just browsing, I then asked about a Chanel face lotion I asked oh is this new? She said oh no it's not new, I said oh I use the Le Lift. Her reply was " oh yeah that's better for you and it's in your price range". So now we are racially profiling because I am a Mexican woman who she thinks cannot afford a face cream. Just wow I was in disbelief. I just ignored the ignorant will never comeback to this store that clearly profiles the customers. read more

Very poor customer service. Two very slow ladies at the register. Ignored us standing in the line. One left us waiting in the line stating I need to attend to a phone call, saw her arranging the clothes but nothing urgent that she would leave the customer waiting. This happened with the 2nd lady. As a student of retail, and former retail career-ist, I was doubly interested to see what was going to happen at Old Orchard in the old Barnes and Noble spot. It's prime real estate for that center, and a new concept for a brand that should be right at home there. I was very impressed to see it is a home run. It's a very smartly curated, boutique-like experience. It is expertly merchandise, very shoppable, very light feeling, and classy without feeling out of touch. Even more impressive, I was greeted by a very friendly " salesperson" I thought, who turned out to be the manager, Trevor. How nice to see a manager out on the floor talking with customers, just like the good old days when I led 4 other brands in that mall! There is something for everyone in this very swappable space in the very active part of the mall, where it appears other upgrades are happening in the lanes adjacent to make it even more fun. To all those naysayers that gripe " in store shopping is dead" check this out. It is a sign of the next generation of retail stores for sure. read more

The new Bloomingdale's really does feel like it's had a makeover. This store doesn't feel like a department store, and is fresh and airy. Nice selection (though the prices made my head spin) and a surprise downstairs with things for the home. The best surprise was the cafe. I was craving a latte and stopped in, and my latte turned out to be delicious. They use Illy espresso. Yay for that! It was also pretty inexpensive at $4. Would definitely return just for that! read more

the costumer service was HORRENDOUS. they only care about you if you come with a Gucci suite with $10,000 in your hand. if you don't have either, you might as well consider yourself not a real costumer. i was spraying ONE fragrance and they yelled and me. also, i was walking and they said "get out the way, only real costumers here". the selection is fine, but it doesn't matter with the shit costumer service. if you want to get fucked go here and have fun. read more

WOW this place has the WORST customer service I have ever experienced and to think they just opened recently. My husband and I came in tonight (12/20/22 around 5:00PM) to get two items ~$200.00. I was still looking around so before my husband paid I asked the cashier for gift receipts. The cashier rudely said she already did. My husband then paid but the cashier said she was out of boxes. She told us to proceed downstairs to get one. (Mind you we never asked for a box but thought that was a nice gesture) As we were walking downstairs I asked my husband if he asked for gift receipts before I had asked and he said no. Anyway, we get downstairs (that is deserted minus one customer that just finished). We ask for a box and immediately the gift wrapper (the older one of the two present) said "who told you that" "they need to get their own box" "what was there name" "We're too busy"; question after question. My husband and I were shocked and obviously didn't know the cashier's name. The wrapper huffed to get two boxes, insists it won't fit the two clothing items we had, insisted it's her last one, and then walks away. I took one box that was more than big enough and we left. We were super confused, because we thought they were going to wrap the gifts for us. Long story short, we were driving home and couldn't believe we were treated so poorly l, not once but twice, in a matter of minutes. We returned our items around 5:30 PM and will never be back. read more

Ordered a bag online for pick up. They delivered it to my car without the dust bag and removable pouch. They first lied and said the bag didn't come with a removable pouch. Had to pull up the handbag on their website to show them the product details. Then they proceeded to tell me a few of the bags were missing pouches and dust bags. So the bags are considered ineffective.. and shouldn't be on the sales floor. I would expect this kind of service/experience from Zara. read more

Lovely selection, and I like the new space. Customer service was terrible, though. I was trying to try something on and several employees avoided eye contact. Some of the same employees were on their phones every time I looked at them, and literally scowled at us. Maybe they were off the clock, but it's confusing and slightly hostile! Stopped in to return an on line purchase. This store has fun clothes. I am in my seventies with a good figure and still like clothing with a kick. I found a really cute blazer, their Aqua brand, for a reasonable price. Made an immediate purchase. They also carry Theory, Rails, Eileen Fisher and others with which I am not familiar. There were a reasonable amount of customers in the store and the staff was very nice. I would have given 5 stars but the price point on many of the items that I also liked was beyond my budget, but this has been my usual experience with Bloomingdales. I will definitely go back. I felt excited about shopping again. And, it beats the very depressing experience of on line retail, Target, Kohl's and even Macy's (now a pathetic junk store). read more
