Been using Korean skin care products for many years now, I'm always happy to find my products accessible nearby. I was in search of the face shop's white seed product line and was able to find the exfoliant wash I've been using and the toner as well. (The Katy location was missing the exfoliant wash.) I was also happy to see that I could get the innisfree green tea product line. The serum and eye cream are so refreshing on the face, highly recommend. I also purchased the Beauty of Joseon sunscreen that I've been hearing a lot of buzz about. Will see how good it is. These products are definitely cheaper if bought in Korea, but the face shop will do until my next trip out there. I was given a choice between two samples - acne or anti-aging. Kinda sucks that you only get 1 free sample after spending over $40+ in comparison to in Korea they give you lots and lots of samples. But I will return to this location for sure. read more

My recommended products are: Herb Day Cleansing Foam: I got combination skin, this face wash doesn't make my face dry. And doesn't break me out either. Face Masks: I literally used all the $2 ones. They work well. Chia Seed line: this been my skin care routine for 5yrs straight. Doesn't break me out, moderately moisturizing, not oily at all, very light. All the things I want in my skin care. I love this cute little shop. It's always so colorful and brightly lit. It makes me want to buy and try everything. They have a lot of products, but if you're looking for a certain brand then they have limited choices to choose from. They have nice assortments of facial products, make up, and skin care. What a fun place to shop for skincare! I wanted to get some makeup too, but most of the foundations and colors didn't work for me since day i'm not as fair as the Korean target market. Since Korean cosmetics aren't widely available yet in American stores, it's nice to have a shop to see what's available. I appreciated the range of products and price ranges available. Also, who can say no to $2 face masks and fun animal sheet masks? There are also some very high end lines, which I'm hesitant to spend money on without more research. So you can bet I'll be back armed with more research into the active ingredients. I'm not much into essences, but there were at least 10 different options. Also, if you're into whitening products, there is a plethora of stuff available. There are some body products, but not too much beyond body lotion. I did spot some foot peels that I want to try out when I'm not preggo (avoiding high levels of salicylic acid that's in contact with my skin for a while). I think this place is my favorite compared to the other new Korean makeup stores opening in Houston. They have makeup/hair care/face care of only one brand, The Face Shop (hence the store name) which is really popular in Korea among the early and late 20s. As for me, I only like their eyeliner brand which I only come here for with the occasional purchase of other makeup products. Although this place's price point can get a little high for all the makeup and skin care that you buy but it won't be a loss as their products work effectively in bringing out your beauty :) The young asian girls who work their are not friendly at all. Often times, no greetings whatsoever and they just keep stare at you until you go up and ask them questions about the products. They tend to just talk to themselves about their day and whatnot and it gets pretty irritating to hear them talk. If you want to ask any question, ask the older Korean folks, rather it be the ahjussi or ahjumma who owns the place. (They're really friendly and really tries to help you.) read more

So I am a Californian visiting Houston for a few weeks for the holidays and stopped by TFS to buy a few things I forgot to bring from CA. To my surprise, the shop is very well decorated, very organized and well stocked. Usually the shops in California is always under stocked and products tend to run out fast, so this was a nice surprise, although they ran out of the bar soaps that I love so much. The bad thing about this place is that the sales rep really have no business selling cosmetic products to customers. As I looking at the products, the sales rep was helping out another customer with BB cream, and I was shocked to hear that the sales rep really didn't know the difference between the BB creams and could not recommend a suitable BB cream to the customer. So, the customer just randomly chose one, which is quite a disappointment for me since I am used to amazing service. I guess this is normal here in Houston to not get great customer service from well educated sales rep with their products?! The sales reps in California were really well educated in the products and knew exactly which products would help with different types of skin, so this was a complete shock to me. At that point, I just did not want any help from the sales rep because she was completely clueless why she is working there, and I just quickly bought what I wanted (luckily I know my products well enough to not require any assistance). Another thing I have noticed about this shop is that the price tags are not up for every product, so it gets annoying to ask the clueless sales rep the prices of each product, since she has to scan each one to find out the price. It's either she is new, or she really doesn't know why she is working in the shop. The Face Shop products itself is very good, especially for the price you are paying for. I have been using Faceshop products for over 5 years after switching from American/Japanese products and I must say that Korean products are on the rise since it is very affordable for the quality of products they have. Although, the shop is well stocked, clean, and organized, they should actually educate their sales rep on the products they are selling. They are working with people's skin, and can really cause damage to sensitive skined people if they don't know what they are doing. I would suggest the customers to do their own research before relying on customer service here. read more

For two years, I and my sister have been visiting The Face Shop in Bellaire for more than 10 times. The most recent trip (which is today) has been my most satisfied visit up to date :) The Staffs: Overall, the girls who work there are helpful and are always ready to answer all my ridiculous questions. However, my very first visit in 2014 has been intimidating. The two girls who worked there kindly greeted me and asked if I needed any help, when I told one of the girls that I would take a look first for now, she smiled and retreated back to her station behind the counter. It was fairly crowded at the time but I overheard the two girls complaining about a customer who came in earlier, asked a bunch of questions, then decided not to buy anything. I took a peep and saw one girl rolling her eyes then let out a smirk, saying it was such a waste of her time to be answering questions constantly and yet they (customers) barely make any purchase. Working in customer service must be really sucks :S Anyway, that conversation kind of pressured me into buying some stuffs and not walking out the store empty handed. Despite coming here more or less than a dozen times, I never see the same girl/girls who work here. I feel like the shop hires new people every week O_O Glaiza, the girl who helped me out today (I think... since the name was on the receipt :3), was so sweet and patient with me. The Korean owner was here this time and he was unpacking products in the back. They haven't displayed the newly arrived Oil Control Water Cushion, but when I asked for it (after seeing it in the displayed brochure on the shelf), the owner immediately unboxed the package and gave it to me for testing :) The products: Pfft~ I could go on and on forever about The Face Shop's products. Though the shop doesn't have every single thing, they have a fairly good amount of products that is catered to teenagers, 20s, and 30s adults. They have the men section too, though I'll have to get a boyfriend first U_U My dad and grandpa are not really fond of the BB cream or the guyliners... The prices: More expensive than what you get online. A product might cost 5,000 Korean won (5 USD) in South Korea, it becomes 10 USD on eBay, then it turns into 15 USD at the store. So you get the idea of how costly these are. I bought $50 worth today and I could have saved $20 if I were to buy them separately on eBay, but I just couldn't wait :( However, you get what you paid for and The Face Shop has never failed me in helping me looking nice, clean, and confident ^_^v Also, you can skip the online store's waiting time since it usually takes 1~2 weeks for a product to arrive from South Korea or anywhere else. The store: Extremely clean. Polished wooden floor and neat shelves. The smell is pleasant and the interior is a natural blend of white and green. I just feel like I've stepped into a paradise every time I come here. There are testers everywhere. Though I don't recommend you try them on your face, they are great for testing products to match your skin tone. The freebies: Oh. My. Buddha. They give out free calendars! Grab them!! Only available within a limited time (usually at the beginning of the year) and they run out of stocks after just a few weeks. Last year, I purchased a $100 worth of products and I was gifted a Suzy calendar, I thought I have hit jackpot until my sister went in and bought a $7 eyeshadow and walked out with a Kim Hyun Joong calendar... So for any purchase, you are given a calendar and free samples. My birthday is coming up in two days and guess what, Glaiza told me to get any two facial masks and they are going to be my birthday gifts. I was like, "Are you kidding? Why are you so nice to me?!" then Glaiza proceeded on to give me a 5% discount off my total purchase and that's when I screamed in my head, "Stop being so nice arghhhh~" I found out that the birthday facial masks and the 5% discount were applied because I just registered for their membership. Sometimes I have a great experience, sometimes I don't. A lot of it depends on who is working. Last time I went the girl behind the counter was great. A couple times ago there was two girls and they were awful. They talked to each other the whole time and didn't speak to my group or the other two groups that were there the same time. Then, I spent over $20 and NO SAMPLES. I had to ask for samples?!?! That's only happened once though. I hope they got fired. I mainly just come here for face masks. They have a huge selection of face masks compared to other stores in the area. I've never tried their makeup or nail products. Overall good store. I come often. read more

Finally upgraded my face-care products with The Face Shop products and I'm extremely happy! Friends and I visited the store since we were vacationing in the area. We take skin care importantly, and this is something that The Face Shop focuses on. Each time I've been here there's always been a cute girl by the cashier, and each time they've been helpful whenever I had a million questions pertaining to my oily face. I have recently been introduced to Korean cosmetics and skin care and I love the Face Shop. I'm very disappointed that the one at Memorial City Mall closed, but it's worth the drive to Bellaire.It's such a fun and unique store to find products that I wouldn't normally find at Sephora or other major make up stores. My favorite things to get so far are the Cleansing Tissues and the Character Face masks. The cleansing tissues smell really good and they do a pretty decent job at cleaning my make up off after a long day. The character face masks are not only super cute, but make my face feel soft and healthy. I usually only keep my face masks on for about 15 minutes and I can feel results almost instantly. The packages with the face masks always have left over collagen left in it, so you can put it not only on your face, but on your neck as well. Although, I enjoy this place and brand a lot, the products can be pricey, but its understandable since all their products are imported from Korea. The Face Shop! I really liked it! I am not really a makeup person and I still am not, but when I got there I had went there for one thing and that was just to find out WHAT BB Cream was. I ended buying it and loving it. The staff is really, incredibly nice. They are also very helpful. Like I said I didn't know a lot about... Well.. Anything. Because I never had worn makeup and I still don't (I don't count BB cream as makeup) And I started out asking about BB cream and that turned into asking about everything else in the store. Lol And their products are priced reasonably. I probably bought over 15 things and it came out to about $70. It might sound a lot, but trust me, it isn't. I think it is completely worth it. So I went here a few days ago after a friend had mentioned the face shop had opened in Houston. I was thoroughly estatic as I generally buy my bb creams and whatnots online. Entering the facility, I noticed a tranquil and clean environment. Everything was so very well organized. There was a tester for everything. The staff was attentive. I usually have no qualms about that but sometimes I feel burdened when they follow you. Maybe she thought I was a delinquent who'd shoplift... *shrugs* It could just be me. Anyways, the attendant helping us provided a great service when she separated our chosen products into separate baskets and helped us test the nail polishes. She answered all of our questions and made it a fun experience. The products themselves vary in price. Some products would be more affordable than others. The scale can range from $2 to say $50... I love how organized it is because you can definitely gauge a product's worth better at the location as opposed to online shopping. Supposedly, the products are natural but uhhh... I have to do so more research before I start guiding y'all the wrong way. In comparison to other cosmetic lines, I find the face shop to be rather affordable. It would fall in between drugstore products and retail. Oh and if you're a packaging freak like I am, you'll love how cute the products are. I wish I had asked about their return policy or if they even have one. The experience is not up to par with American retailers but they're not the same so I shouldn't really compare them. Love The Face Shop! My first experience at a Face Shop was when I was in Vietnam last year and I had a lot of fun picking out a bunch of random cute things. I'm so glad there's a location open in Houston now. I think the closest one that was open previously was in Dallas. My favorite thing about this store is that everything is so affordable! Everytime I visit I always end up buying a bunch of stuff and get discounts and lots of free samples. The workers here are helpful (although they tend to hover) and the owner is super nice. The Face Shop carries my favortite BB cream (Aqua BB) so I'm glad I have a place to purchase it when I run out! Super cute items in the store and they have stuff for guys too!
