I've been getting my nails done for years and the first time I go somewhere new due to needing my nails done for some last minute plans my nails start peeling after an hour. One nail pops off. I go back to get them fixed and they make me pay even more and tell me we will take $5 off after they were charging me more for no reason. I tried this nail salon since I could not get in at my usual place and needed my nails done for an event. I heard good reviews about this salon and even got my toes done there a few weeks ago with no complaints. I've gotten dip nails at my usual place with no issues. I've been trying to grow out my nails since November and was very happy with the growth. I didn't want to damage them with acrylics. I went on Monday and got done by the nail tech, Rachel. At my usual nail place, they soak off the old dip color with acetone. However, my nail tech at this salon filed it off with the grinder. I think maybe this thinned out my nails. About two days after I got them done, the first nail chipped. Ever since then, my nails have been chipping like crazy. I am really upset because these are my real nails and I've been growing them out for months. As you can see, my pointer finger split in half today when I was wiping down the counter and my finger tapped into the knife holder that was sitting on it. I thought this place would be good to get my nails done in a pinch, but I was definitely wrong. I basically threw $50 down the drain and I will not be returning. read more

I could have given no stars if that was an option. Having said that, this is the worst "nail spa" in all the five boroughs! Their pedicures are rushed, sloppy, and rough! Then the mani station, if you want to call it that, is a complete joke! And going for a mani-pedi is supposed to be an enjoyable and relaxing experience, and not painful, and to add insult to injury, the worst and most disgusting turnoff is that they hover around like spiders to a fly and demand their tip! I'm never going there again because it was the absolute worst experience of my life! And mind you they charge top dollar for these "Manicures and pedicures." I have been a long time customer at Blooming. I loved the girls and the quality was always great. Recently I have been rushed out of appointments & have been asked to reschedule appointments due to the nail tech claiming my appointment was made for a different time than I originally made it for. My appointment was made for 4:30. They claimed it was 4:00. I got there at 4:15 and someone was already in the seat. They told me they tried calling me and to come back for 6:00pm. I wasn't accommodated although there was a mistake on their end regarding the scheduled appointment time: This was not the first time. I went there the day before my wedding day and told the nail tech how excited I was and that tomorrow was my wedding. In response she stated "you only made an appointment for a gel manicure not a uv gel fill." very cold & upsetting. Unfortunately, I will not be going back although I did love their work. read more

They did an AMAZING JOB my first time here and I'm obsessed thanks Emily! The shape is what I've been seeking for a long time, they were all nice. She didn't even replaced the products. Wish I could give less than 1 star This is about my third pedicure here (will never do my nails there again Bc they were horrific) this was by far the worst pedicure I ever had in my life . I believe I had a new girl there - she was actually holding the nail clipper upside down and I told her to turn it around that's why it wasn't cutting my nails . She barely did anything to my toes. Halfway through I asked for someone else to finish the job Bc I couldn't take another minute . Ruby finished up my toes but they look horrible they're crooked and she didn't even scrape the skin off of my feet but somehow sliced the bottom of my toe . Completely unprofessional. Not only are my nails crooked and uneven, but my nail tech rushed through even though I had an appointment. She was so rude and even yelled at me that she would not change the color of my nails because I asked for funny bunny and ballet slipper when most people get them reversed. She said she didn't care if I didn't like it and when it was done it would be done. I was floored that Linda would speak to me that way. When I was finished, I paid and gave her a five dollar tip. I then realized I didnt have singles to tip my pedicure lady for a polish change but they began yelling that I needed to tip her and she ran up and waited behind me asking for her tip. Have been coming here for about a year now and keep coming back time and time again. They tend to be busy, so it's best to plan an appointment, especially if you plan on getting your nails done with Linda. Linda is a fantastic nail tech and if you plan on coming here, she is the best option for manicures. She makes sure the shape of the nails is all even, and lays down the polish evenly. She does this all with precision, while also being able to do it on time. If you're in a rush, depending on what you plan on getting, she get you out in about half an hour to an hour. She is also very kind and loyal and if you come continuously, the service keeps getting better and better. The atmosphere is very comfortable and relaxing and you will surely come back for more :). read more

TERRIBLE. every nail was misshapen and not symmetrical. When she applied powder, they were ridiculously thick. I asked multiple times for it to be fixed-correctly shaped and thinned out, she said she would. When they weren't I asked again, she said they would- they weren't. How many times do I have to ask for something before I realize that it's not going to get done? While filing she cut me not once not twice on FOUR NAILS almost five before I pulled my hand away. There are actual gaps between my nail and the tip placed on my nail which will inevitably grow a fungus as soon as water gets in which won't be a problem given the size of the gap. She was ready to polish my nails before I had enough and left without putting any color on. You were ready to polish my nails? Meanwhile there is enormous globs of acrylic on the underside of my nail. I even asked her not once but TWICE if she normally does acrylic fillins because it didn't seem like it and every single tool she used was not from her station and borrowed from another desk. In a rush, hoping I'm overreacting, and trying not to rip someone's head off I paid, left and went to a different salon. The other salon's tech brought up point after point of what was wrong with the nails and that I should not have paid! SO I return to the original salon and ask about a refund, they bring the manager who did not do my nails but was one of the three technicians I spoke to earlier. I should have told her I was unhappy. ONE I don't know you are the manager TWO you were not the one doing my nails why would I complain to you THREE how many times do I need to ask for the same thing before I realize it's not going to get done and leave. This woman says they don't offer refunds and I left I should have complained beforehand. I explained I was hoping I was over reacting and that it wasn't that bad. Still I left so what can she do. BET. I took pictures here is every thing you need to see. I will be growing fungus on at least THREE of my nails, run the risk of infection on FOUR because your technician cut me! Still wants to argue with me. THEN tells me the owner says if I want a refund I have to call 911. Two customers nearby heard me and shook their head in agreement so .... To say I am dissatisfied with the service here would be an understatement. I came here today for a regular manicure. After I paid and the woman finished painting my nails, as any normal person would, I got up and walked towards the drying station (or should I say what used to be the drying station) to dry my nails before my car ride home. I was then informed that they do not have any dryers any longer. Again, this was AFTER my nails were done and AFTER I paid. I was told that I could "sit outside and wait for my nails to dry" (not even any attempt at an apology). If you don't have a dryer, fine BUT HAVE A SIGN UP OR TELL YOUR CLIENT BEFORE YOU FINISH THEIR NAILS AND THEY PAY! I would have never agreed to getting a manicure had I known this! The minute I opened my car door and turned on my car to attempt to pathetically dry my nails with my cars AC, I saw they were already destroyed (pictures attached). The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because my nail tech was genuinely a nice lady...but let's begin. I called and made an appointment and that was easy..when i arrived at my appointment the lady sitting in the front was very rude and i instantly felt uncomfortable..now i sit down, i went in to get my old set of acrylics off and put a new one on. I explained the shape i wanted and also showed her a picture..(I've attached that photo as well) well..it was absolutely not what i wanted..i asked her to make my nail thin over and over again..she assured me 3 times that once she filed them it would look good...im so upset at what i got..giant thick block nails. I'm also posting a photo of what they look like 1 day after getting them done..it looks like I'll need a fill in within a few days (i plan on getting them fixed anyway) not to mention, every single time I've come to this salon they also cut me..not good. Now the payment process was even worse..i walk over to pay and I'm clearly upset about my nails...the tech stared directly at me while i paid and collected my money basically expecting a tip for terrible work..Not worth the money. Used to be my favorite nail salon and I don't know what happened to this place but I got a new set of acrylics the other day and left the salon in tears and went to another salon to get them fixed. The girls wait at the register when you're paying and stare at you so you're forced to awkwardly tip even when they do an awful job. I paid $45 + tip for a disgusting, thick, ugly set of nails. They let pedicure girls do sets of tips now -- big mistake. This guy used to work here and he was amazing but he's never there anymore. Even better, when I came back for a pedicure (which chipped 2 days later) the same girl had the audacity to come up to me and say something about how I got my nails fixed and all the girls that worked there proceeded to laugh with her and I felt so embarrassed and ridiculed because of her terrible work! What a beautiful space and addition to the neighborhood! This place has the best ambiance for a nail salon that you'll find in this area, I hope they maintain it to be so! I got myself a gel French mani and a regular pedi on my first visit (20% discount! Get yourself the VIP card), I am such a sucker for membership cards and loyalty programs. The gel manicure was done kind of quickly but they have state of the art UV machines, I wasn't too happy with my gel French manicure because she made the white line way too thick for my already short nails, and it only lasted a week, strangely. The pedicure on the other hand is the best pedicure I've ever had on the island, or ever? The full hot stone, foot wrap, rose petal water, wow the whole nine! Massage chairs are awesome, I really enjoyed my experience here. Just wish the gel manicure had lasted longer and was done with more care hence the one star off. This is my second time at this nail salon, the first time was fine the lady who did my nails was super sweet and I was happy with my fill-in and gel nails. I came in for the second time was so turned off. I told the man in the front that I needed a change of polish on my toes, a fill- in with gel polish and 2 new nails. After my feet were done I was sent to dry (weird) & I showed a picture of a design I wanted, the man responded that "You would have to wait 45 mins" I said "never mind I will just get a solid color" he said "Ok you still need to wait 45 mins" I was PISSED I explained that no one advised me that I needed to wait that long prior? I have work I can't wait 45 mins in between & how thats messed up. He walked away & came back and said okay sit here. He did my nails with an attitude, was aggressive with my hands, huffing & puffing, I mentioned something about the shape I wanted - his replay was "I know the shape" - MORAL OF THE STORY is my thumb nail gel peeled off the DAY I got home .. i felt it mushy that it was not done correctly & by 11PM when I was getting ready for bed it was half way peeled off .. I'm so angry and annoyed I wasted my time + money and now I have to go get it fixed and waste more of my time that I don't have !! However the last time I went to blooming nails will be my last.The Woman who did my nails had a attitude from the moment she began you could tell she was just rushing to finish the entire time doing my nails.. While she was filing I corrected her and asked her if she could please fix them because they were all unbalanced (mind you these were my christmas nails) Some were longer than anothers and I had about 3 different nail shapes on my hand..when I asked her nicely to fix them she gave me more attitude and she told me " they cant all be perfect" I could not believe this was happening to me. No one wants to pay to get their nails done and receive attitude for expected a great service... I was so unhappy when I left I had to pay to get them fixed. I have been going to blooming nail spa since they opened.these past few months that I've been going there the service and professionalism has faded. The new nail technicians that now work there are not professional at all. They don't speak any English and they do very poor work. I felt as if they were talking bad about me today because she filed my nails so much that i started bleeding and now I'm in terrible pain and afraid that i might get an infection. The straw that broke the camels back was when i asked to get my eyebrows waxed,something that I've done there before and never had a problem. Today the girl put wax on my eyebrows and when she pulled off the wax she also pulled off half my eyebrow leaving me with a half of an eyebrow. I was hysterical crying and the only thing they did was return my $8 and told me to come back when the hair grew back. I was livid at this point, not even an apology or offer to compensate me for this horrible job. So i walked a few stores over to a place called ART OF THREADING. The owner Sam fixed my eyebrows and tinted them to cover up the horrible job done by blooming nail spa. WARNING: blooming nail spa is not blooming anymore. Pedicure was not good, I left with rough skin on my heels and my cuticles barely cut. The pedicurist did NOT massage my calfs or feet, only the front of my legs (the shin) and it was horrible, mind you she applied no pressure at all, saying rubbed is too generous. LINDA the manicurist was very rude and condescending. I had asked her to cut my nails short and she replied with "Then you have no nail left" (please refer to photo my nails were VERY LONG when I came in) So she cut them a drop more very sarcastically, and I said no can you please cut them shorter, and she said "then you have no nail" , I had plenty of nail at this time. I said I like them short can you please do a little more......I can tell she was annoyed and said "Ok you want short no problem" and she ANGRILY and QUICKLY snipped my nails away.... She TOOK HER ANGER OUT and CLIPPED MY NAILS ridiculously short. Please see before and after photo. I then saw she began to file my nails square without asking, so I said politely can you make them more round. She says "Round you want round?" And she ANGRILY and QUICKLY again filed my nails so round they literally looked like cones..... this is when I knew she was a heartless stressed out individual. I was not going to tip but I did anyway and gave her $2 for doing my gel mani. She looked at me and said "Really?" And then started talking about me in Chinese and the whole place was laughing. When I went to pay the young guy at the counter seemed to be annoyed I gave her a $2 tip also and said nothing , he put his hand out waving for the money and when I gave him the $50, he shooed me away to leave the store. I will not be returning because the salon is full of very rude unprofessional individuals.
