I just got home from a [necessary] outing to Bloomies in Aventura mall. What a waste of a morning. A gentleman friend of mine bought me some clothes from the Bloomingdales in Palm Beach. Very sweet. But the clothes were all size 3X. Not my size. I live in Miami and took them to Aventura for an exchange. I purposely went early, arriving around 10:15 am so I could get immediate assistance. The sales assistant named Jean in the ladies denim Dept on the 2nd floor acted as if I were a big annoyance when I told her I needed an exchange. She pointed vaguely and told me I should take the items to the work out section for help. "But these items are from the denim department," I explained to her. "Can't you help me find these items? It's a little overwhelming in here with so many brands. I don't know where to find these things." Instead of taking me to the section where these items were located, she took me to a much more expensive brand's area and tried to upsell me on similar but wildly more expensive items!! She said I would have to make up the difference In cost for those items. I told her I didn't plan to spend any money exchanging something that had been a gift and she became huffy with me, rolling her eyes and communicating through her negative facial expressions, body language and tone of voice. Once I refused to be up sold on my exchange she revealed that the Aventura store did not even carry the brand I was looking to exchange! And that I would have to go all the way to Palm Beach to do so. I asked if there was a better solution, since I don't really like shopping and get overwhelmed easily in large stores, and didn't plan on spending an entire day plus tank of gas to drive to PB just to exchange these clothes. She offered no solutions, continuing to act in a negative, off-putting and verbally combative manner. So I offered a solution: just give me a gift card for the value of the items. She seemed to have great difficulty in doing this very simple thing, even requesting assistance from a senior colleague because one of the items wouldn't ring up. The senior colleague instructed her to manually add the item to the refund on the gift card, but she refused to do so once we were alone again (no longer in the presence of the senior associate) and when I asked her about why she wasn't adding the item she gave me some excuse. Each time she asked me about where I bought the items or where was my receipt, I reiterated that these things had been a gift, and while I did not have a receipt I did have the business card of the sales associate from the Palm Beach store who had assisted my friend in purchasing these items. While Jean was having trouble ringing up the items onto the refund/gift card, I offered her the card with the associates name and contact info on it. Her response was basically, "What do you expect me to do with this?" Accompanied by a sneering facial expression and again a negative tone of voice and body language. And all the time she was treating me as if I were suspicious, or had stolen these things, and that dealing with me was nothing but trouble and she couldn't wait to be rid of me. The price of the items was as follows: jean jacket $128+change, green top $84+change, Spanx stockings $32.00. Yet the gift card she gave me only had a value of $131+change, and the spanx was not even added to the card because she refused to follow the senior associate's instruction to add it manually. 128+84 adds up to $212,not $131. These items were purchased 3 days ago! Not last season. By the time the card was processed I had all but given up and just couldn't wait to get away from Jean. I had started out excited, thinking I would exchange my oversized gifts for something cute... only to walk away feeling like I had been kicked. *As if that entire experience weren't bad enough, I took my giftcard to the makeup counter hoping to salvage the experience by picking up some nice makeup, which I ordinarily would not splurge on. As I approached the Bobbi Brown makeup counter a sales associate stood there coughing directly into her hand and then reached out towards me to ask if she could help me find anything. Aghhhh! Yuck, gross, and disgusting! I asked her if there was someone from Bobbi Brown who could help me find a foundation, and she replied that while she was the rep for NARS, she would be glad to help me. Then she began touching (gagging as I think about it) the tissues and spatulas, etc that the ladies use while they test colors on a customer. I directly stated to her that she had just coughed into her hand and was now contaminating everything she touched, and that I would not let her assist me because she hadn't washed her hands. Her attitude was so snotty in response that I just turned and walked out. Wow. Wow. Wow. I'm a business owner and I just can't wrap my mind around how any company can allow its associates to behave this way. If I treated my customers like this I would be out of business. read more

This review today is for the MEN'S DEPT. at this Bloomingdale's location. Went today during lunch so hubby could take advantage of the extra 20% disc. they were offering and, let me tell you, they had awesome sales. We came accross THOMAS, who helped us and he was the BEST. He would ask if we needed anything but he didn't pester us or overwhelm us. He was attentive and super nice but giving us the space that we like and need to shop. After a while, we came out with a couple of items for hubby at excellent prices and even a gift for someone else. All in all, it was a great shopping experience on this crazy Christmas time. read more

If you have never shopped at Bloomingdales before, I am surprised to say that there are some deals here. I recently purchased a winter coat at a considerable savings. This store has gone way downhill. Do NOT register at this store. We did our wedding registry here and it was probably the single most frustrating experience of our year. Abysmal customer service. We ordered my husband's shoes for the wedding online and the order was cancelled without notification. As a result they put the money back on our gift card.... Which we had shredded after we spent the money. So now, it's been months and they still can't figure out how to get those gift cards back to us. Also my husband had to scramble in the last week before the wedding to get new shoes. This is just one story of MANY. This store is horrendous. Register somewhere else! read more

I have been a card holder and a loyal customer for over 10 years but last night's experience has made me want to never stop foot in your women's department. Your management needs to do a better job when hiring because the customer service ( or lack their of) is scary I went to purchase a jacket and wanted to use my loyalist points - the young lady working at the cash register told me she doesn't know how to take off the loyalist points - okay - I asked her to take me to someone who can - SHE TOOK ME TO 3 different departments - not one of your sales people could help me - one told me she was busy, second one just walked away and pointed to the third. Finally a gentlemen at BCBG department agreed to " do me a favor" as he told me and take care of me. He kept telling me that he really should not be the one doing it since the product is not for his department - and told me that I was making it very " complicated " - by using my loyalist points ? Are they not there for us to redeem? What has your " customer service " come to ? You guys make costumers feel like unwelcome and make ME feel guilty for trying to make a purchase . There's nothing like this store, where the Nordstroms at the Aventura mall lack the selection, Bloomies will certainly overwhelm you with choices! Surprised to see my fav Laundry and even the London-based brand I love. They even have a restaurant. This is my new go-to place in Miami-Dade, so long Nordstroms! read more

4 stars for service especially in the dress department, they are very helpful and attentive. The coffee shop is a little treat hidden away in the back of the store. they make the perfectly beautiful latte, oh I forgot to take a picture, it looks like one of those sand toys you get at carnivals layers of great coffee. On a very disappointing note, I will not be able to back there again until spring as they have a fur shop right next to it. Shame on you Bloomingdales for having a fur salon, we know better now and you shouldn't be promoting the cruelty of animals. read more

I visited this store on a day when I was in a hurry looking for shoes for a particular dress for work. I have never liked salespeople following me around and try to "push" items on me. This salesperson named Dorothea came up to me with a warm smile offered to help me and to get my shoe. When she came back with not only my shoe but other suggestions, I was impressed. She had really listened to me and brought me shoes that fit my style, dress (I didn't bring my dress) and fit my feet-perfectly! She really nailed my style! While I tried on the shoes she told me about the upcoming sale and how I could save money off of certain brands. I ended buying 3 pairs and blew my budget but I have some shoes that make me look and feel great. She even signed me up and says she will call me when shoes come in based on the description I gave her. I am now a converted Bloomingdales customer. read more

I'm a little surprised to see so few reviews. This is a very large, spacious store, most likely the flagship for South Florida. It's very well laid out and carries more upscale brands that Bloomies flagships (NYC, South Coast, San Fran, Chevy Chase) carry. Being that South Florida is home to many ex-New Yorkers one as well as fashionable transplants its easy to see why this is a high-end Bloomies. Any Bloomies shopper (and I am an avid fan) knows that sometimes suburban locations are lacking, but MIami's best shopping is in its suburbs and the Bloomies here does not disappoint. I thought the exterior of the store was a nice contrast to the stark, often typical Bloomies exterior and very representative of South Florida. Mens denim and designer collections are extensive here and there's ample assitance available. I even noticed they carried Chloe bags here when I was walking through the accessories dept. As always, Bloomies sales rock but being that this location is very popular, the sales rack were a bit thin on my first but most recent visit. Aventura is a great mall, and Bloomies here is a must stop. 5 stars to the spacious and well stocked home store on the 3rd floor, they have a beautiful collection of Hudson Park bedding here. Oh, the associates in the mens grooming dept were very helpful and doing some Lab Series free demos and actually gave some samples as well....its quite expansive and worth a stop even if just for the samples. If you get Bloomies mailers, you will notice in a lot of the catalogs the very high-end merchandise will say available at 59th st, San Francisco, South Coast, and Aventura (I may have my mix of stores wrong here but Aventura is surely on the list sometimes). After my visit to the store, its clear why this location ranks in the top tier of Bloomies stores. read more

No one ever picks up the phone in customer service, to connect you to a certain department it is seriously so annoying and frustrating. You can get a hold of the president easier. The customer service is horrible. They need new managers and some training from Nordstroms. Will no longer shop here, they have nothing you can not buy any place else. read more

I find shopping for suits about as pleasurable as listening to a knife scratch a plate. However, it must be done once every 10 years, and Bloomie's is as good as any. Great selection, especially on clearance items and no shortage of salespeople willing to help. A special shout out to Kourtney (a guy) who went above and beyond (staying 1 hour after his shift ended) to help me select and alter my new suit....most definitely a man with great style acumen and infinite patience. The worst customer service! Unending emails regarding specials and sales but there are so many restrictions and exceptions. Their own customer service people don't understand the details and offers. Their Loyalist program is really pitiful, at the end of the year (even with ongoing purchases) 75% of your points are deleted. Sad. read more

beautiful layout. always kept very clean. in all the years of shopping here, i've never seen any clothes on the floor or unkept dressing rooms. on a good day, you can catch a sale and score a few discounted items if you take the time to search through the racks. the other afternoon, there was a mega sale on underwear. the sales woman who assisted me asked me if i was a part of their friends and family promotion. since i wasn't, she automatically added me, so i recieved an additional 20% off of already marked down underwear! i got three bras for the price of one victoria's secret bra :) read more

I had a problem with a late fee recently. And usually I always pay my payments on time. However this time it was late. My late fee was $35. I was upset because I felt like maybe if the due date wasn't on the weekend I would have paid it on time. (My bank account was acting up Saturday Sunday and deposited check on Friday which meant it came into my account Tuesday morning. So I called and told them my situation and immeditaly they eliminated my late fee !!! I know the money is very minimal but the fact they took time to delete my late fee and let it slide because they understood my banking issue was very very nice. Great customer service. read more

I ordered a Montblanc keyfob from bloomindales.com and received it in a little plastic baggie. No box, no cleaning cloth, no certificate of authenticity or warranty. I look on ebay and see that all keyfobs are supposed to come with these things. So I contact Bloomingdales customer service and I am told by the rep that this is the way they receive merchandise from the manufacturer and forward it to the consumer the same way. I am sorry, but when I pay $140 for a keychain, I expect better. Not a plastic baggie that looks like I purchased a cheap Chinese knockoff. I Montblanc is really sending things out to their vendors this way, they should be ashamed of themselves because they are not doing their brand justice.
