Only USB in the suite but it did not work.
    Shaelyn M.

We reserved our stay online at the Marriott for a King bed suite. When we arrived for check in we were told all beds were sold except for Double beds. We didn't understand how the room we held had been taken from us? Regardless, DO NOT STAY IN ROOM 705. - the door and lock appear to have been previously damaged with the lock barely hanging on the wall. It does work.. however with a little force the lock would fall off. This needs to be fixed ASAP as it a huge risk for those staying in that room. - we figured since it was two double beds we could push them together but for whatever reason one bed had an additional box spring making it much taller than the other. - the center lights are broken and about to fall down. Please have these fixed! - the coffee maker was very dirty, broken and did not have the pull out piece where you add coffee. This was frustrating however, across the street there is a Starbucks attached to the Hyatt. - the only USB port in the room (yes only one!!) did not work. - the shower head was FILTHY! It needs to be cleaned and it will function better as well. It's so dirty it is clogged and the water pressure is terrible. - the sheets had red stains (blood, idk?). This terrified me but my husband and I searched the room up and down for any additional specs, dots or bugs and didn't find anything. - we did find an old ball from a previous stay under the bed. Makes you further question the cleanliness of this hotel. Not ours so we left it. - the front desk said for internet to select the guest option and enter your last name and room number. It prompted us to PAY $12+ for a day of internet? There was another network option for the Marriott that was free so we did that option. Saddens me we were directed to the pay option, especially after our reservation had already been bumped. - note that the Breakfast buffet is NOT complimentary here. It's a standard continental breakfast buffet. I wouldn't have eaten here had I realized wasn't included. We weren't very hungry and got just some eggs, potatoes, juice, one piece of bacon and berries (GINORMOUS strawberries lol). It was $34 for two of us. Basically, if you're hungry sure... indulge but for a single serving before rushing out to work it was disappointing. - The only saving grace of this hotel is some of the people that work there. The two gentlemen that worked in the lobby buffet were pleasant, as well as the woman bartender and the girl at our checkout. While we described these issues to the checkout staff she did ask us how to make it right. That said, we weren't sure and she didn't provide additional options on what could be done.

"Campus view" & "high floor" somehow got me a room on the 2nd floor looking in the opposite direction of campus.

Unfortunately promised a lot of things I didn't get (lounge on Friday, high floor and campus view). Other than that, nice place, clean and a good stay. Perfect location for visiting ISU.

We had a clean, comfortable stay at this Marriott and found the staff to be very friendly. The room was spacious and well kept and the price was very fair. The parking garage is big and the sky bridge is a nice touch. We will return when next in the area.

Probably one of the best hotel stays in quite a while. Room was excellent, staff was beyond amazing. Pros: Very conveniently located in the College Town and near so much to do. Cons: Night life is not the most dynamic as far as places to go so you do need a car. I really enjoyed my stay here and I have to admit that the rooms are beautiful and they do use high end products. I think that the bar is awesome with some really nice drinks for all palettes. The conference rooms are extremely comfortable and are very well located. I really had an awesome experience.

As you walk into the lobby you automatically get a nostalgic and magical feel for the ambiance. There is this homely scent that permeates throughout. The layout of the lobby is convenient as the reception desk and restaurant and convention area are in close proximity to each other. There is plenty of parking in a structure that has a bridge into the hotel. The rooms are spacious with ceiling to floor windows and a seating chair that makes for a great place to sit and relax. There is an in-door pool, a clean coin operated laundry facility and a good size fitness center. The breakfast buffet is just right in-line with a hotel breakfast buffet and worth the price. Almond at breakfast is the sweetest. Jaime at the Bar at night is so nice, makes having an end of day drink even better. The front desk is very helpful with information. I highly recommend this place as a stop for a long car ride, for business in the area and to host a group or convention. The general splendor of the hotel is by far the best in Bloomington Normal Illinois!! Stay here!

Check in was a breeze and the staff throughout our stay were friendly, professional and pleasant. The rooms were large and comfortable, with two beds, a writing desk and a spacious bathroom with a large hot shower. There is a bar on-site and during check in we were offered a couple free drinks (along with complimentary cookies!). There is also a gym, pool, and hot tub, and the offerings don't stop there. This is a very large hotel, with several large banquet halls and conference rooms. It is an ideal location for any kind of get together be it a wedding, birthday party, or business conference. In addition to the bar, courtyards and many rooms, there is also a restaurant attached to the hotel. The height of convenience. Our stay here way one of our favorites. We will be back!

People were in the lobby with bathing suits on and the banquet area(close to our room) had two large events going on. One was a girls gymnastics banquet with the girls running and playing in the common area. The surprising thing was that when we closed the door to our room, we couldn't hear any of the noise coming from the banquets, very nice. Our room was clean and we had a mostly"restful night's sleep until there was a very loud, aggressive, series of knocks on our door at 8:15 in the morning. I was sleeping as check out wasn't until 10am. After being woken up, a second very loud series of knocks a few seconds later, caused me to get up and investigate the noise. By the time I got to the door, a third series of again very loud banging knocks were coming from our door and as I got to the door, I could hear the mechanics of the door and someone was entering our room. I physically pushed the door closed and yelled"what are you doing?!" We got dressed and went to the front desk to let them know what had just occurred. The woman at the front desk casually said"oh that must have been house keeping". I explained that as guests, this was not OK and if he had walked into the room I would've been standing there without any clothes on. It all seemed matter if fact to the front desk staff. Check In at this hotel is 4pm. That should give the house keeping team ample time for cleaning and preparations for the next guests to arrive. If it weren't for this experience, I would've given this hotel a higher ranking. Unfortunately, it gets a very generous 3. After all, most guests come for a good night's sleep

Check in was efficient although the room I chose during check in wasn't the one I got. I didn't complain as I got a similar room just a different floor. I was offered an alternative room by Wednesday but I guess I assumed it would get fixed the next day. I miss great sleep and that great manager.

Upon arriving in our room - again first glance was okay. But there was a large flickering light fixture in the bathroom, and when we visited relatives in another room the same thing was happening there. Not a deal breaker, but oddly annoying - though not as annoying as the barely lukewarm shower in the morning. Oh yeah - no bathroom exhaust fan either. WHY DON'T ALL HOTEL BATHROOMS HAVE AN EXHAUST FAN? For heating/cooling there was no 'constant fan' option in our room (though our relative's room DID have that feature), which meant overnight the a/c went ON AND OFF loudly on an irregular basis, usually just went we briefly dozed off. And when it was off you could hear every door slam, people talking in the hallway, doors slamming, and people running back and forth down the hall. That is until the a/c went briefly on again. Loudly. We asked the front desk for a fan (to use as some kind of white noise device) but they didn't have one. Pillows were flat and hard, only compounding what was easily the worst night sleep (or lack thereof) I have ever had in a hotel. And I have stayed in a few skeevy joints. The hotel bar apparently closed early on the night we wanted to stop in for a cocktail, so we missed out on that. The whole 'closing early' thing is also a pet peeve of mine. We were told we could not bring our own cocktails down to the lobby, though there was a large table of boisterous teenagers playing poker - so I guess that was ok but not four adults sharing a quiet drink. The room keys were very temperamental - working sometimes and not others. We were told when signing in not to keep keycards near credit cards or they wouldn't work (never had that issue other places, but whatever). Even keeping the key in a separate and empty shirt pocket did not prevent the wonky access issues, which required a few visits to the front desk to have the keycard 'fixed'. Complimentary breakfast was ok, though our party did have some disagreements on the food quality. In all fairness it was about what I was expecting. Short version: noisy, uncomfortable, noisy, and uncomfortable. I can't stress how horrible the overnight stay was here. Sure - your mileage may vary but you have been warned.

Some days they came in & tool the trash but didn't make the bed. And it's like at that point why bother? For context my trash probably only needes to be pulled every 3 days. However, there were some issues that made the stay less than what we expected. First, the water pressure from the bathroom sink faucet was lagging. And the water came out at all sorts of angles. The water pressure in the toilet was horrendous as well. It barely could flush the toilet paper from a quick #1 visit. My husband, ever the brave and handy guy, requested a plunger but never was able to get a decent flush. And then there was the breakfast - it's nice there is a sign informing you that can inquire about gluten free and dairy free items BUT you have to have those items available. I can't eat dairy. It's not a lactose issue - I really cannot have any dairy proteins at all. At all other Best Western Pluses we have gone to, they have had individual serving cartons of almond milk that I can ask for - but they did not have them. So while everybody else had four different choices of dairy milk, yogurt, many assorted pasty, scrambled eggs, pancakes, etc - my only option for breakfast was...oh wait, nothing because I couldn't even find fresh fruit.
