I reserved a sound bath with silks, as something different to do on my birthday, with my family. Aluminea responded promptly, initially through Yelp and later we texted details. She was so nice and accommodating. This was our first time and we were all looking forward to it. Once we arrived, she was prepared and ready for us, introduced herself and explained what to expect during the experience or journey and showed us into her space, which was open and beautiful. She has a pleasant affect and a soothing, calming voice. We all had a really wonderful time simply laid back, relaxing & listening to her sing and work the bowls. I decided the universe was talking to me when I was getting a facial and my esthetician started talking about her recent reiki treatment with Lauren. I was intrigued and asked for her info. That's how I found Blossoming Lotus. Google explains Reiki as a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the client by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the body and restore physical and emotional well-being. She asked me if I had any areas of concern. I asked for a focus on creative energy and to release any energy that no longer served me. The treatment was very relaxing. I was sort of in a trance-like state the whole time. This is energy work so each person will feel it differently. For me it felt like waves moving through my body. I felt warmth and even heat fill my head and I even had some cramping in my stomach at one point. Nothing too uncomfortable. I had a natural high feeling for an hour or so afterwards. I felt really free and open the rest of the day and got a good nights sleep last night too. Today I'm lighter. I wish I had known about this sooner. Lauren is very sweet and talented. I came to Lauren during a stressful time while I was finishing the last year of my undergraduate degree and taking a 2 1/2 month intensive study course for the Law School Admission Test (LSAT). I was having trouble focusing on studying because my stress made it seem like my heart was pounding out of my chest and my head was abuzz with test-taking strategies and negative self-talk. The Universe always works in the most magical ways :). I just had my first Reiki healing session with Lauren. A friend of mine told me about Reiki and recommended that I try it to heal my emotional baggage and physical ailment of back pain. I have to admit that I didn't know what to expect with Reiki and was a little skeptical. Let me just tell you that Lauren was amazing. She was really gentle, kind, and professional. The room we were in was comfortable and peaceful. The moment Lauren put her hands on my head and other different chakra points on my body, I started to cry. The emotional baggage that I had repressed long ago, had resurfaced, which gave me clues as to what areas in my life I needed healing in. I could feel warm energy coming from her hands, it was indescribable. The warm energy even transmitted through the thick blanket I was covered in. This session gave me some clarity of what I need to do in my life to bring positive thoughts to every thing that I do. I went away from my session with a clear mind. And, Lauren even gave me some guidelines (affirmations) on what to do to keep the balance in my life. My first Reiki experience was beyond amazing. I have difficulty in walking, muscle weakness and balance issues. Had 6 MRI's and all sorts of blood tests and I am not any closer to a solution or even a diagnosis. In short, I am running out of options. So I tried it last Saturday. Am I glad I did. Last week, I had a very symbolic dream. When I awoke, I did some journaling and realized I had some old energy that needed to clear from my emotions, physical body, and energy field. I felt strongly prompted to reach out to Lauren. When I did, she offered a Reiki Summer Session. We met at her sanctuary/office and then walked over to the beach for a vivid and transformative meditation. Lauren guided me to connect with the cleansing ocean energy and strengthening sun energy. I took reiki I class this past Saturday and even though it was from noon to 8pm, the time went by quickly and I was left feeling energized. Lauren is an incredibly gifted teacher - she is patient, kind and insightful. She went over concepts effortlessly and it did not feel like work at all. My favorite part of the class was getting to practice on our newfound reiki skills. I remembered being moved by the energy towards places my partner needed healing even though these areas were not revealed to me beforehand. My partner had tears in her eyes after my session with her ended - she was overwhelmed with love and gratitude. Apparently every one of my movements had meaning even though I was not aware of it at the time. I recently went to Lauren for a Reiki session and it was a great experience! I went in to see her because I was going through a rough time emotionally and also was in hope of relieving some pain from an injury. She guided me through meditation, which quickly put me at ease and relaxed me. When she began with the Reiki, I could feel the warm energy coming from her hands on each of my energy centers. Once she got to my heart center, I began to cry as soon as I felt the energy from her hands over my heart. It was as if I was being covered in a warm blanket full of love!
