I started learning and practicing yoga here in early 2024, and it has absolutely changed my life. Khristine is extremely knowledgeable and passionate, having studied in the Ashtanga lineage of yoga in India straight from the late Sharath Jois, grandson of the founder of the Ashtanga method (who in turn studied under Krishnamacharya -- Google these names if you're curious of the significance). Of course, lofty credentials don't mean much if they're not put to good use, but Khristine continues this rich and sacred tradition by teaching students old and new with thoughtfulness, compassion, individualized care, and great humor. She's very skilled and observant in suggesting alterations and adjustments to facilitate injuries, health conditions, and other student-specific needs. And if you think yoga is only about movement and fitness, you're in for a treat (as long as you have an open mind). Her knowledge of pranayama (breathwork), yogic philosophy, and the other "limbs" of yoga are second to none. The other teachers here are also extremely skilled, knowledgeable and helpful. They bring their own diverse skills and yoga lineages to the community to create a fun, expansive and well-rounded place to learn and practice -- whether you're a brand new student, a casual participator, or a seasoned lifer. read more

Attended 11am Saturday slow flow with Amber. Amber is a very welcoming instructor who provided many variations for poses. It's a very very slow class good for relaxation The studio is small and intimate, Its bright I personally like a darker studio for practice The best part was when Amber played the harmonia I have never been in a sound bath class and that part was truly transcending. read more

I drove 20 miles to 9th limbs to practice with Kristine every time when I am in town. She is an authorized Ashtanga yoga teacher but has a bit of love and lights in her. I am a lazy Ashtanga Mysore practitioner and I really appreciate her knowledge, humor, and great personality. As a student, I can be very demanding in a yoga class and the yoga instructors. For example, I would like to do more backbends and hip openings. Very few instructors can create a suitable sequence on demand. Kristine always adds/modify poses in her sequence to make beginners comfortable and advanced students feel challenged. I always leave her classes happy. In addition, there is Sarah. I have not attended her classes before but she chanted wonderfully in Kristine"s class so it's worth to mention it. I am sure there are other wonderful yoga instructors in the studio and I am looking forward to practicing in 9th limbs more in the future. read more

This sweet studio has a welcoming and peaceful ambiance. They have a great variety of classes that meets you at your level. There are even intro classes to introduce you to new styles, specifically Ashtanga. The team of teachers are knowledgeable and approachable. I appreciate the variety of participants that show up validating that it's safe to work at our level. Another benefit is the variety of workshops, guest instructions and retreats to broaden your yoga experience. Mashelle is authentic and candid in her gentle classes. Shawna's relaxing voice would put anyone at ease and her style gives you room to grow. 9th Limb Yoga studio has been nothing short of life-changing for me! Every teacher is knowledgeable and friendly and eager to give individual attention as needed. Owner and instructor Khristine Jones has a far reaching vision for this intimate space in Morro Bay. Her special workshops with amazing guest instructors continue to be inspirational, and 9th Limb's reputation is spreading up and down the coast.I do enjoy going to classes in San Francisco and Los Angeles but there is nothing like coming home to this peaceful space. I feel like I am living in a yoga retreat! By the way, I've only been practicing yoga for 1 1/2 years and I am in my 60s. This studio was great. The moment you walk in the ambiance of the studio is exactly what you would want in any studio. It was clean and welcoming. The class was great, taught by Kristine, who is amazing. She is really knowledgeable and true to yoga.
