This is where my family and I go for our eye care. It is a really nice place. When I arrived for my annual appointment last year traffic had me 15-20min late and I apologized to front desk check in immediately. There were two girls there one was extra nice and one seemed pretty stressed out. The stressed-out one told me I would need to reschedule my appointment (which I completely understood bc even tho I couldn't help the traffic that made me late, it was still my responsibility to be on time) ...but the other front desk girl told me I may not have to and checked with the doctors in the back first. While she was in the back, the stressed-out worker went on to explain how she was having personal problems and needed to leave right when they closed due to her important plans (pertaining to her personal problems). I told her I understood and I am sorry and will be more happy to reappoint. That's when the other girl come in from the back and said the doctor will still see me. As soon as I was taken to the back to start treatment everyone working back there was super nice and still had a smile on their face even at closing time. The eye doctor was finishing up with my stepson (who has an extraordinary personality which she seems to do well with) and was very patient with him. She got me in the chair and found my perfect prescription within a matter of 1 to 2 minutes. And all the other exams prior to that one with the assistants were also very quick and professional. After that it was a matter of walking around their big glasses frames gallery (decently priced) and chose which ones did best for me; they also have people that help with that if you want their assistance. The same assistants will help with your final check out and fine-tuning options. After getting my glasses, they didn't stay snug on my face as much is I wanted them to and eventually fell apart on one side. I was able to take them back for them and they fixed and tightened them in about 15min and didn't charge me anything for them. This is a great place and I recommend it. It still gets high rating even though the one girl was eager to leave and being kind of rude instead of being 100% like the others there (just bc one person was having a human moment shouldn't be what the whole business is rated on) ...we all have bad days and along with personal problems, but don't let it affect how your treat patients. If you're honest enough with yourself and can feel like your personal problems may effect your work ethic, then maybe you should take a day off and deal with it outside of work. On the other hand, if you're that patient or customer who is always coming in 15,10, 5 minutes before closing time, shame on you (even though it's your right to be let in for service right up to 1min till close), you should have some sort of empathy for someone who has been working and waiting to get off at a decent time. Don't go here if you like transparency!!!!!! I was charged 39.00 for service I did not ask for. My co-pay was supposed to be $10.00. At the end of the service I was charged $49 . Be informed when you go into your appt . Don't let the Bible verse on the wall trick you into believing these people are trustworthy. The employees disrespected us because we were TENNCARE PATIENTS. And, the supervisor is absolute GARBAGE. we had to wait 10+ minutes to even talk to her. She was always avoiding what we were saying to her. All patients deserve to be treated with dignity and receive quality care, regardless of their insurance status. but they DO NOT CARE! The administration at this office is absolutely terrible. 1st: they do not answer the phone, it doesn't even ring. I called while sitting in the lobby to test and see. when you call and try to speak to the front desk it goes to a voicemail. 2nd: I received no confirmation of my appointment prior to it, which is why I was trying to call and confirm I had the date and time correct. No text, no phone call At all. 3rd: my benefits renew every year in January and I had an eye exam scheduled the last week in December. I scheduled this exam a year in advance at my appointment the year prior. They called me 2 days before my appointment to tell me it had been canceled because they were going to be closed And they would not be open until the beginning of the year. this caused me to not be able to use my benefits for the entire year because they did not give me enough notice to their closure to be able to reschedule my appointment or go somewhere else before the end of the year. the Doctors are great but that doesn't make up for the terrible administration. do yourself a favor and find an eye doctor who's administration prioritizes helping patients and communicates effectively. read more

The doctors have been very knowledgeable and helpful. I would advise against buying glasses or contacts from their optical center however. I ordered glasses on December 9 and was told the would be in 10 to 12 business days from the order date. I called on Christmas Eve and was told the frames were backordered but were on the way and they should be ready by Thursday or Friday. I called on Friday and was told Monday or Tuesday. I drove to their office on Tuesday and was told that the glasses would be there on Thursday or Friday. They were complete and awaiting final inspection. It is now Friday afternoon. I called three times and left messages with no callback. I called the front desk for assistance and was told the glasses might be in by the next Wednesday. That is over a month after the order. I told her that was not acceptable as I was leaving town and needed the glasses by Monday. She said she would have someone call me but of course no one has called. I would not recommend them at all. Trying to get them on the phone now to try to cancel my order and get a refund. read more

Today I went in to fill my eye glass prescription, This is something I just dread! I struggle trying to find a frame that fit my face, I always just settle with something I just hate! That changed today when I met Jess!!! She asked me what I liked ? Did I know what I was looking for style wise?! Me, I have no clue!! Unfortunately, I won't be going back. After my eye exam they gave me a prescription that was 2 pts weaker than my current one. I could not see. It took 4 weeks to get contact trials in. I called multiple times to order my new lenses once everything was correct. I was out on hold every time for 20+ mins and no one ever answered the phone. I ended up driving there to order my contacts and it took another 20 mins for someone to acknowledge me, after I complained. Then I was told it would take an additional 12 business days for my contacts to come in. 6 months later, still waiting. I am not expecting them to call me when they come in. I will be doing another drive by to see if they have been delivered. read more

I will begin by saying my eye exam was everything you would expect. This is the only reason I gave 2 stars. The Dr was very nice. But you can get an eye exam at Walmart. When the exam was finished I was sent back out to the waiting area and was put in front of a clerk of some kind who was only interested in my paying for the exam. I asked about getting glasses...go figure...I was told the frames were around the wall, and are all MIXED between men's and women's. Go look. I asked if there were prices and I was told to look on the lens. My experience at any eyeglass store, is that they usually provide assistance finding frames or, at the very least, OFFER assistance. In what world do you mix up all the frames and then provide no assistance to the customer? Someone from HR came out to speak with me. I tried to tell her what happened as "constructive criticism" and she was unwilling to see it as that. She took my comments as a complaint, she told me she could resolve the problem by setting ANOTHER appointment to have someone show me the available frames. That's what I was already there for!! Why would I need ANOTHER appointment? Waste of my time. I told her I would not be purchasing anything, I would not be back and I will not speak well of the business. read more

Once upon a time this was a great place but since the new owners took over they have completely changed ALL the staff, the friendly, professional attitudes are all gone now you're just another number, if you're that lucky. The wife went to get our twins glasses and they just added things like scratch resistance, anti-glare and who knows what else, we were not asked it was just added. When I got the bill, 2 hours later I called and was told it was too late to take off the extras which were an exceptional up charge not covered by insurance. Well after 2 days of phone tag I spoke to a mgr who reversed the charges so yes they fixed it but it should've never happened. Also be sure to ask about their crummy warranty and beware of the inferior products. Daughter broke her new frames within 2 weeks (she's worn glasses 6 years without issue). Well the new frames which they charged me $25 for broke within one week and I was forced to pay full price to replace the frames again. They got me on that as I had no real options but it cost them our families business and if I can save any one else the headaches of dealing with the new "BCEC" I certainly will try. read more

Had an appointment here, Dr. Matt (not an optometrist, only an optometric physician) was nice enough. Young so I was hoping for some up-to-date procedures rather than inexperience. Unfortunately, it was the latter. After reading a paper with small writing, my kids were declared to have 20-20 vision - I then read the same paper (with eyestrain and blurriness, coming from decades of far-sighted glasses wear) and was told the same thing. I insisted that while I could get my eyes to make out the words and letters, I definitely would have a migraine if left to go without glasses. He then went through the pick '1 or 2' '2 or 3' etc. till we were just about to get somewhere and then he stopped. Gave me a new prescription of contacts, had me put them on, to which I could see very clearly two of everything in the room. He tried again, and just when we were getting to fine tune the prescription he stopped. Because neither prescription was remotely correct, he gave me 6 different prescription trial lenses to attempt to find my own correct prescription at home. The office is nice enough, though when it comes to medical devices for vision, they don't know heads from tails. The office does not have an actual eye doctor/optometrist, but they can help if you could pick out a pair of readers and be taken care of. As a side note, they have a very meager eyewear selection, and are very uncooperative to work with. read more

NEVER go there. I was told I had to have cataract surgery. Upon returning to Ohio and seeing a specialist, it is Not True and they set me up with glasses. Wrong prescription my specialist says. Exact same situation with my sister who also wanted glasses. She has canceled her surgery and is getting another opinion!! STAY AWAY. They literally have messed up at every opportunity. New to the area I don't know who to go to. They have a nice looking building seemed like they are doing well so I made an appointment for contacts exam. Staring into instruments, reading eye charts, what you expected it to be. But the doctor (Lloyd I believe) was not very warm or friendly. Had to take the contacts out a few hours later bc they hurt, next day I put them in and had double vision in my left eye. Walked in the next day for a new fitting. Later in the week noticed I had double vision in my left eye during night driving (in high contrast environments) so I go back time # 3 and he gives me a new prescription for my RIGHT eye the one that was fine. Idiot. So a week of trials I figure maybe this is as best as it gets so I order the contacts. The contacts arrive and they are the wrong ones (since he wrote 3 RXs in two weeks) and the girl wanted to argue with me that they were not the wrong type. Few months later I want RX sunglasses. I have my own Oakley frames and wanted lenses. The clerk was clueless as to why I would want Oakley lenses and what type I was ordering(Prizm Black Polarized). Many weeks later I get my lenses and they are SO Dark that they were useless, so I had them remake the lenses as a lighter shade of the same type. Sent off my glasses and my useless lenses. I received the new lenses and frames back but the lab kept my original Oakley lenses and sent back the bad RX lenses. Those lenses were $200. The clerk told me I was wrong and that the lenses that came back were my originals.... I know my lenses one set was black the other was green, not that hard for me to identify what was mine. She said she would call the lab, but I never heard from her again. My wife went to get Oakley's. She picked out frames (very sporty obviously for sunglasses frames) and the lady asked if she wanted them tinted, and then asked if she wanted UV protection: 1 duh I want my SUNGLASSES TINTED 2 duh I want UV protection, you're an eye care center shouldn't you know the importance of UV protection But most of all 3. My wife was trying to order Oakley brand lenses just like the ones I ordered (this was going on shortly after I ordered my first lenses and had not yet received them) So I went down there and straightened them out, ordered what we wanted and then she was concerned that they were going to be $400+ Why would she be concerned about the price, it's my money, you're not paying. I like my eyesight, it's the one thing I splurge on, I'll fork over $400 for a pair that'll last me years. Don't speak to me in a judging tone, I'm spending my money at your establishment to pay your salary. Needless to say, never going here again P.s. now 1-800-contacts is having issue verifying my RX with them, so I will be running out of contacts here this week read more

Absolutely the worst place I've had the pleasure to deal with, they sill rip you off at every corner. Then they will pay for good reviews, just look at the people leaving high reviews, 99% of these people have never stepped foot in this place, they are paid to leave high reviews! We love coming in for our exams here. The building is beautiful and the staff members are always friendly. They recently switched to a new system and were very apologetic for the wait to find our records. Everyone seems genuinely happy to be there. The eyewear selection is great. Some of the glasses can be pricey, but it's nothing out of the ordinary. It's family-friendly and they even have coffee or bottled water while you wait. Our family highly recommends this place for your eye care needs! read more

Every year I've been except last year I've had a problem they have fixed the issues I've had with them in the past so I kept giving them chances. Problems I've had are them setting up appointments and then having to call me back and change them because the doctor won't be in the day the scheduled me after like a week and I already put my day off request in! And then giving me the wrong persons glasses, but putting my correct perception in them.And my glasses had a 3 blue dots in them one year they had to order me a new pair and have them put in again. Ive always spent over $300 in there office every time I go to the eye doctor ( because I always buy new glasses)you think they would treat you as a valued customer. But this year I should have learned my lesson from the past because this was the worse visit of all. The eye exam was fine except my eye was swollen and they just said to come back in 3 months for a check up. Didn't say what it could be from at all. 3 months is a long time to wait if your eye continues to be swollen?!?!? Next issue I was the lenses. I wanted blue light coverage which is needed since my eyes are sensitive to light. They failed to let me know they could only do them in the yellow tint which basically is like looking through and Instagram filter, I would have never paid $100 for just lenses had I know they would be yellow! They did offer to order me a new pair of lenses with the reflect coating only on them which I already paid for that too on the yellow lenses, I was still losing money. They had to dig out my old lenses in a box they use to give them back to you in a baggy this time they didn't, so now I'm back to the old lenses from the year before. Needless to say I have learned my lesson and will not be back to this eye place. read more

The prices (with insurance) are normal for an exam and contacts. I would never buy glasses from the eyeglass shop there. Most of the prices are pretty high. They do have a drive-thru to pick up your glasses/contacts now, which is pretty convenient. They prices reflect the new building for sure - obviously they have to make up for some of the major $$$ they dropped building the new place. read more

My husband and I went to BCEC two years in a row for our examine and eye glasses. The first time, my husband's lenses were cracked and as a result we had multiple visits with them to get it right. The second time, the lenses came with a numbers in the actual lenses, again we had multiple visits to correct the issue. My last pair of glass have never fit correctly, they fall from my face no matter what they do and as a result they sit in a drawer. BUT the kicker is, this eye care center only provides you with a 1 year script. My prior and now my new eye care center provides a 2 year script which is money saving for us. I cannot understand why BCEC would want to walk away from selling my 2 sets of glass' each year plus contacts, just to make some extra cash on the examination. They will not even accept there own prescription that is over 1 year old. Not the norm in the eye care business. read more
