God Bless Dr. Froula and the staff at UES, they're wonderful people. I had Lasik surgery over a year ago and couldn't be more satisfied.

Which meant my vision had changed. They advised me to go to my own optometrist and get a exam. Dr Stewart and his staff made me feel comfortable throughout my time at the clinic while also explaining clearly what to expect, and now I have better than 20/20 vision. I'm a student here in knoxville, 25, my eyes were -4ish. I found Tennessee lasik through researching different facilities for the most experienced doctor. It's my eyesight so I obviously wanted the best. I thought about making a trip to Nashville but after seeing the cost difference, and how they have the same top of the line equipment here in knox, as well as the amount of experience of Dr Stewart, I decided on Tennessee Lasik for the procedure. I would recommend Dr. Colby Stewart to everyone, but especially anyone who might be scared of having lasik done. The lasik procedure seems scary when researching but the staff truly did a great job. I have never had such a wonderful experience at any medical facility before now.

The lady "selling" me eye glasses stood next to me instead of allowing me space to look for myself. Additionally after review of what was a mistake purchase, I made a call to cancel my frames and requested a copy of my prescription. I was told under no certain circumstances could the prescriptions be emailed to me because of "HIPPA". Drove back to the eye doctor and requested a copy of my prescriptions. I was then only provided 1 of the 2 prescriptions... i had to go back in yet again to get the second prescription because they were trying to pull a fast one on me. As far as not being able to send my prescriptions electronically because of HIPPA the excuse doesn't seem valid to me because when I went in to physically pick them up all I told the front desk was my name. Wasn't even asked to see a drivers license or even check my date of birth. Doesn't sound very HIPPA compliant to me. Know your rights. Just because you see an eye doctor doesn't mean that you need to purchase frames from them especially when they have limited options. They should immediately provide you a copy of your prescription before ever trying to sell you on lenses and frames.

Dr. Dix at Volunteer Eyecare is the best optometrist I have ever seen (pun intended)…read more I have an unusual prescription, thanks to astigmatism and monovision correction via LASIK surgery 20 years ago (which I would totally do all over again - life-changing, truly). Anyway, as I've gotten older, my vision has naturally deteriorated. I've been to other optometrists who have tried to give me corrective prescriptions (glasses and contacts) but they never seemed to get it quite right. I know there is an adjustment period anytime you get a new prescription but prior to my Volunteer Eyecare appointment, I would try to wear my "new" glasses for a week or two, but I always ended up back in the old ones. Dr. Dix gave me a thorough examination and talked with me extensively about my options. He was able to determine why prior O.D.'s had difficulty pinning down an optimal prescription, and he patiently answered all of my questions. The solution? One contact! One contact in my right eye has completely resolved most of my vision challenges. I still need glasses for computer work and reading smaller print, but for driving at night, reading road signs ahead, and seeing my neighbor down the street waving at me... I see these and so many other things clearly with the addition of just one contact. Perhaps there are other great eye doctors in Maryville, but I'll never know because I found the very best one for me.

FOUR HUNDRED EIGHTY THREE!!! I have a $10 co-pay on an eye exam. And they have billed me $195. Thank goodness my insurance covered some of the charges. I can't imagine if I didn't have coverage! I must return to pick up my contacts and hopefully the new ones are correct. I can't imagine what I will be charged if I need an adjusted prescription! Once I am all set with contacts I will NEVER use this group again. My husband has also been a patient of this group in the past but will find a new provider for his exam this year. Unless cost is not a concern, I absolutely do NOT recommend this provider

This is definitely a "special" place for a PRK or LASIK surgery in 21st century. You won't see the…read moredoctors and laser machines here for laser surgery in normal days. They (doctors and machines) are all on the truck and traveling around in southeast USA. There are only a few empty rooms which David Smith share with them for "your surgery". Those rooms are only filled with equipment on the so-called surgery day. Before the surgery, you can see Woolfson once, he would give you a very brief examination and then tell you if you are suitable for PRK or LASIK (only these two). (their staff even doesn't know the new techniques which have been developed so far).(In other places, where the doctors are stationed in the city, they would give you more examinations before the surgery). Then on the surgery day, you would see him one more time. After that, you are left with David Smith. David Smith is just a ordinary doctor with a very limited knowledge on laser surgeries in Knoxville. This means if you have a problem, it is extremely difficult to see Woolfson. You would have many useless conversation with David Smith. (David Smith even said the lotemax would mess up your visions if you use it more than one month....) I told David Smith I need to see Woolfson from July of 2018, you know what? I was finally able to see him in December of 2018 after I asked them for refund. If not, I would not be able to see him forever...Woolfson is not visible after your surgery. They are traveling with the laser machine, such delicate machines are moving from time to time on their truck. If you have a problem after the surgery, Amy would not be as kind as the first time. Can you imagine that for my surgery here, even nobody told me to watch the red spot before the procedure....?????????? In the middle of the surgery, Jonathan stopped the laser and told me to focus on the red spot.....This is really ridiculous!! For him, it is just a surgery case using their cheap laser, for us, it is the entire life.... Can you imagine that after my second correction, I asked Woolfson if the thickness of my cornea is safe, he just said HOPE SO... David Smith is a good person but definitely not a good doctor on laser surgery. Jonathan Woolfson is kinda a good doctor but not a good person, he is rude and extremely difficult to meet again after your surgery. They are doctors and equipment on-the-wheel. Don't come to this place! See that truck?

Here, they provide an option of having a photo taken of eyes instead of dilation (at an extra cost). This was a welcomed alternative and saved us all a lot of time and tears, too. As someone who has never worn glasses, Dr. Best explained to me what she was doing and why, and answered any questions I had without a lot of medical jargon that would make me scratch my head in confusion. After the eye photos, she even had my son come over to look at the pics and ask her questions. He thought that was super cool. He (shockingly) told me as we left, "That was pretty fun, Mommy!" Whatttt?! We were seen very quickly and the appointment only lasted about 30 minutes, including picking out and purchasing new frames. Speaking of, there was a pretty big selection of youth frames, which was refreshing. They were all fairly affordable (most under $150) and ended up being fully covered by our insurance.
