We had the white cheddar pimento cheese spread that has poblanos instead of pimentos. It was delicious! And the pita was crispy and soft at the same time. All the food we had there was amazing - duck wings, burgers, etc. Their beers were also excellent! The highlight was the bartender, Jordan. Burgers were overpriced, we asked to sit outside at one of the open tables but were told no as jt might rain later. Our server was pleasant but brought us no utensils or napkins and we never got a refill on drinks. Oddly, sweet tea is served in a bottle and soda in a can so you pay per drink. Blowing Rock is my favorite mountain town, and the brewery is perfect. They have a great selection so that no matter what type of beer you prefer, you can find something to sip on. The taps rotate with some seasonal drafts, and the bartenders are all incredibly knowledgeable on what's available. I highly recommend a flight--you can choose any 5 beers on tap to test out the options. The brewery also has a full restaurant with great food. It's the perfect stop for lunch or dinner. Also know as Blowing Rock Ale House & Inn, this place is my spot when I come to Blowing Rock. The entire downstairs is a delightful restaurant and bar and the upstairs is an inn with several quaint rooms. We always stay here on our long weekends away from home. The food is spectacular and fresh and the inn upstairs is clean and comfortable. I love the staff here also. They have always gone out of their way to be down to earth and accommodating. My favorite thing is checking inn, putting our things upstairs and making our way downstairs for a locally sourced bison burger and a fresh beer on tap. If you haven't had a beer from Blowing Rock Brewery, you should definitely give it a try. You can also take a tour of the brewery out back, behind the restaurant and inn. We were in Blowing Rock for 3 days and ate there three times. If we could have had every meal there we probably would! Loved all the beer selections. We kept getting different flights and they have baby beer sizes too so that was fun! Food is great quality, amazing flavor and service is top notch!! Not to mention they are pet friendly on the patio, so traveling with our dogs could include them as well. They have a dog water bowl and everything. Southern fridge chicken sandwich, burger, fish and chips, fries, fries green tomatoes and pickles, pretzels..... all delicious and fresh. The inside is cool too and they have an Inn. Wish we knew of the Inn before we booked our apartment because I'm sure that would have been awesome too. It's a place you can chill, relax and chat with neighbors, the servers or just read a book. Ok 5 stars for being the coolest place to eat in Blowing Rock. This place is a house remodeled to be an restaurant, brewery and Inn. As soon as I walked in I was in love! I secretly prayed that the food was as good as the way it looked. There was a bit of a wait so they took our number and encouraged us to walk around downtown Blowing Rock until we received a text and they would give us 10 mins to get back for our table. Although the wait time was 45 mins they sent a text in about 15 mins. We walked back from Kilwins where we were indulging in some hot chocolate. We were seated in a small room off to the right of the foyer. There were two tables, a working fire place, which was lit.... "lit" meaning there was a fire going, not lit like "the kids say" meaning awesome, although it was pretty awesome hehe.... Ok so the menu! So many delicious options. We started off with the pretzels which came with a super spicy mustard and beer cheese dip. I wasn't a fan of the mustard but the cheese dip was amazeballs! I had the High Country BLT - which had pimento cheese, peppered bacon, romaine lettuce, herb aioli, and fried green tomatoes, it came with a side of potato salad or fries. I ordered potato salad but they brought me fries by accident, but I just ate them because they looked delicious and they were. My husband had the Bison Burger, which had charred tomato jam, peppered bacon, smoked mozzarella, stout glaze and Grilled onions. My son had a hot dog and fries. Everything was amazing. The way the flavors worked together was just YUM! The Beer! I ordered the midnight raspberry and it was really good. It paired perfectly with my BLT. It was smooth and had a tiny bit of sweet. I can't remember what my husband ordered but he seemed to enjoy it. They also have flights to taste a little of everything. The Service! Awesome service, besides the little mix up with my potato salad, that I didn't even mention, service was great! The atmosphere! Super cute, rustic and comforting feel, it felt like you were in your living room or dining room. They had a small game room that had darts and foosball. There were some people playing but I was able to sneak a picture. They also had areas that looked kind of like booths with pillows to get comfy. Definitely one of the more unique breweries you will ever go into. Partially due to its location along the idealic, quaint downtown that is Blowing Rock. Located in one of the old converted census, coming up to it is very homey. They have done a very good job of utilizing the space, although the space of course will be limiting. The summer is the best, since there is plenty of outdoor area as well as indoors. But large parties may have a bit more of a wait. Our group of five was going to have a 45 minute wait even though we came at like 4pm. Luckily we didn't bring our dog, because the wait would have possibly been even longer to get an outdoor spot on the patio. They do have a good phone waitlist system though, so you can go exploring nearby in downtown while waiting easy and be able to check in to see your place in line where you can get back in time before you are called. The brewery section is essentially a little room next to one of the dining areas. It can seat about 8 to 10 people, but when we were there the line stretching out of the room for people just coming over to get a drink was also about 15 people long down the hallway making it a bit hard for people going into the restaurant to get past as well as wait staff. That said, when spots opened at the bar, we opted to finish our wait a few minutes early and just eat there. But the actual beers here are delicious. The varieties they have on tap, combined with the quality of the beer. Wonderful! If I were judging on their beer alone I would definitely be giving them a full five stars. And the brewery has $5 drafts of all the different varieties, leaving out guesswork. Flights are available as well for about three for $7 and 5 for $10. I honestly liked all of them and would have a hard time picking from the ones I tasted. The cucumber one was very interesting and light. My wife would definitely say the Chocolate Stout though. For me personally a one of the various IPAs I had top my favorites. The food was really good, standard bar fare to some point of course. It's had greasy but maybe not as bad as some other places. But the Taste was not at all standard! The bison Burger was absolutely delicious! We all ordered about as rare as they could for burgers, and they were deliciously prepared. I'm glad, because for $15 it should have been. The beer seems much more economically priced than the food. But splurging while you're here is pretty worth it. The bathroom actually deserves mention, and I wish I had taken a photo. The whole space is decorated more like a place to Lounge, with a nice TV and leather executive chair as well. Unfortunately it is a single-occupancy room, so hopefully no one lounges in there too long. First time eating here and I have no complaints. I've heard many good things about the bison burger and had to finally give it a shot. Hands down, the best I've ever had. Great place to grab drinks, hang out and or grab a bite to eat. BUT BEWARE IF YOU GO WITH KIDS! They only have TWO high chairs, and didn't tell us until After we sat down that they both were in use. And we told them we needed on prior to being seated. However. It was Great little place a block or two away from Main Street blowing rock. We headed there with my two little ones after the park . we got there right after 11:30 and it was already filling up. Beer was surprisingly really good! What a surprise. More like a restaurant that has a brewery as a part. I didn't see any evidence of the brewery on the premises, but I guess it is there. The menu is limited but still offers variety. The menu items are upscale and the do offer additional items a specials. I had the pork taco plate which was excellent. I have purchased several selections of their beer around the area. I wasn't a fan. Here a the restaurant they offer a larger selection and found I enjoyed the Red Rider. I will return with the troops to explore more of the menu. read more

We had a super great experience at Blowing Rock Brewing Co for lunch. We came in with a large party before the lunch rush. The servers were so nice about accommodating our 11 person group in a small side room off the main entrance. As the restaurant continued to fill up, we were given the time and space to relax and enjoy a leisurely lunch. From start to finish, they treated us so well and even split our checks (no easy feat for a group this size). The food was very good as well. Blowing Rock can feel a bit stuffy to me, but this place feels so relaxed. People were eating with their dogs out front and everyone was having a great time enjoying the food, the beer and the sunshine. I look forward to coming back for another visit! read more

My goodness what an exceptional time here at Blowing Rock Brewery! I have always been a fan of their beer, but only see it on shelves or on tap every now and then around the Charlotte area. But it's all good, I probably met my quota for the next year! So the wife and I wanted to get away for the weekend, I initially thought the somewhere in the mountains would be a good call. I started looking things up online and luckily for me I was able to hunt down a Groupon for a reduced price brewery tour at BRB. We headed up here on a Saturday in the late afternoon and caught up with Harrison to give us the tour. This guy was pure legit. Definitely knew his stuff. And for someone who feels they have a firm grasp on brewing, I still walked away feeling dumb. We headed up to the restaurant afterwards. Fantastic. The layout of the interior is my kind of mountain bar. Cozy, quaint, what-have-you, and perfect atmosphere to talk to your neighbors. The food was phenomenal. Now, brace yourselves, there's not much to their menu, but per what I ordered and looking around (spying) at others choices, there wasn't a dish to scoff at. If you like burgers, or hell, even if you don't like burgers- Try. Their. Bison. Burger. AMAZING. Generally the menu is typical bar food, but you wouldn't be wrong to say it's gastropub quality. The staff and service were spot on. Very friendly and very attentive. Do yourself a favor and stay at their Inn that is literally on-site. I wish we did. Then it really would've been a sloshfest. Just my opinion man, but hands down the best business in that main street area of Blowing Rock. Yeah there's a mellow mushroom, but who the hell cares. Try this place. DO IT. This is my absolute favorite place to eat in Blowing Rock. I feel like my visit here is incomplete until I dine here. My friend and i came here today for lunch. We ate outside since the weather was pleasant and despite being crowded we were seated quickly. I ordered the Farmhouse Peach Ale, a seasonal beer with just a hint of sweetness. I ordered the duck confit sandwich with fries. The sandwich had fantastic flavor...the meat was moist and flavorful, with a small heap of slaw on top and a soft tasty bun. The fries come in a small, cute basket and are thin shoestrings. They are simply seasoned with chunky salt, pepper, and a hint of garlic. I always ask for the spicy ketchup, which is sweet with a lovely bite to it. Our service was great. The waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly. We made the trip over to Blowing Rock to take in the sights and quaintness of the downtown area. A friend recommended another eatery. Turns out it was a bit further from where we were. With limited public parking we decided to stick to the core downtown area. While my Wife was in a shop I surveyed the options. Blowing Rock Brew co. quickly emerged. So we ventured round the block. The old home serves as a great backdrop to the restaurant with bar and outdoor seating. If you have a group of six try getting the table on the back patio... it looked like a really intimate setting for a group of friends or family. We started and the bar with a Chocolate Stout and Peach Ale both are great brews with little bitterness. We were quickly seated at a table. The waitress was happy to share that many of the items are house made like the ketchup/mayonaise.. in addition nothing is frozen. We order the Bison burger and Southern fried chicken sandwich. Both sandwiches were delicious and served with fresh cut fries. If you ever near Blowing Rock it's worth a stop. read more

Maybe it was the Sunday night early evening dinner, but the place was mostly filled with young people enjoying happy hour. Maybe it's better if you come later than 6 p.m. Anyway, we enjoyed it but it didn't have much "wow" factor. Our items ordered were basically tasty except the featured side of pasta salad which was extremely dry and hard to eat. The waitress offered to bring me fries to offset them but it was too late for that by the time she visited the table. The food was good but not exceptional; the atmosphere had potential; but it was quite noisy due to the happy hour crowd. It specializes in home crafted beers and I did enjoy one of those. The bar itself only had seating for five, although there was seating directly behind us but facing away from the actual bar towards the dining room. Their beer selections were varied, and the bartender was happy to give you samples to make sure you were happy with your final selection. They offered flights as well as half pints. The menu was very creative, and we ordered the poutine, their version of the original which was quite tasty with crispy ham, stout gravy, duck cracklins, feta cheese, and scallions. I can't say enough about how great they were. Food was average. The Lobster bisque is definitely not made in house or with real lobster.
